Had a great time with a work party. Super easy drive with it being in St. Louis county. Jack was our referee and was absolutely wonderful. Will definitely be back!

I’d best describe my life’s experience paintballing as «amateur». I shoot maybe once a year when groups of friends decide to have a bachelor party, random adventure outing, etc. For guys like me, the criteria for a good park are pretty basic(working equipment, relaxed refs, easy payment terms, good directions) and Gateway Paintball in Bridgeton covers all of the bases well. A quick visit to their website yields all of the key details including straightforward pricing for both groups and open play sessions, as well as the field’s waiver. Directions via Google Map are currently accurate and I found the promises made there to be pretty much in place at the field. Our group organized a private match and the ref guided us on a battle tour of Gateway’s scenes: a woodland trench field, a small«town», a series of obstacle fields with netting for observers, a fortress/castle to attack. None were particularly elaborate, but all were fun and well-sized for small to mid-sized groups. A few dollars more than Wacky Warriors, under most circumstances I would suggest either as a good option for a casual player or organizer looking for a place to take a group. The atmosphere was family-friendly(there were a number of kids participating and even a handful of moms) but perfect for a group of guys to shoot each other up at the same time. Note: Mastercard and Visa are accepted. Tip: The field’s clear about their field paint only policy. There are also a few places where it seems like you should be able to remove your goggles safely that you can’t. The refs will point these out.
