The staff is friendly. Picnic tables front and back were in the shade and clean. I had the salmon burger, it was very good. Very tasty, nicely made. And the prices were low.

After driving 3 hours through the Sierras we decided to stop for lunch in Bridgeport. Jolly Kone stuck out the most with their giant red sign. We ended up getting the: — Fish Tacos: This was the best! It’s a must get. The fish is so crunchy and delicious. — Regular Taco: I didn’t like the ground beef so much in here — it was a little overcooked. Each taco comes in a flour tortilla with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. — Chili Hot Dog: This is impossible to eat with your hands. There’s so much chili and cheese goodness. Everything exceeded my expectations. I was so surprised that the food was so good at this little shack! Too bad we were too full to grab a cone, they looked amazing as well.

Amazing fish tacos. Kids loved the ice cream of course. They have a giant menu with lots of goodies. The new owners are also very nice and put their heart into their service and food.

Stopped by since I was working in the area. I got a cheese burger and a Vanilla Iced coffee. Holy cow the cheeseburger was so good. Haven’t had one this good in a very long time. The bread was so soft, reminded me of a burger you would have received from a diner in the 70’s where everyone is just hanging out. The ice coffee was very good and kept me up on the drive home. Highly recommend the burgers

Delicious food all around and friendly service. Came here on our way to Mono Lake, and it was so good we went back on our way home. The burgers are good, and the veggie burger in particular was awesome. Their buns are super soft and fresh. Don’t forget to try their soft serve, it definitely hits the spot. There are a few kids behind the counter taking orders, but they’re very professional and fast. There’s plenty of outdoor bench seating with umbrellas, and it’s dog friendly too. There are few places to eat in the area, so this is a great stop.

Good veggie burger, large and filling, about $ 6.95 I think, and that includes fries… which the Mono Cone in Lee Vining doesn’t — there, you have to buy the fries separately. Also had an iced mocha which is unusual for a burger stand to offer. It was a pre-mixed mocha, not made there, and not the best I’ve ever had, but good enough and a large cup of it for $ 3. A Starbucks would be pushing $ 5 for the same thing. Pleasant vibe here, and employees are sincere and polite to you. Only thing keeping me from giving this place 5 stars is the eating area. Just a few red wooden picnic tables jammed between the building and the cars. A crowded-in feeling and not very comfortable. They really need a better eating area with trees, grass and breathing room. Otherwise, it’s a good choice for a quick lunch in Bridgeport. According to their sign, they also offer massage! Now that’s what I call a deal.

Was camping at Mono Village and took a few hours to explore Bridgeport. Sat at Jolly Kone and enjoyed the free wifi and the first banana split I’ve had in too many years to count. And it was amazing! The smell of burgers, dogs, and fries cooking was intoxicating. All the girls working were very nice. Service was quick. This will be on my list of places to re visit each summer while we camp.

I have known of and eaten at the Jolly Kone since 1980. My recent visit yesterday, was the first time I’d been here in probably 20 years. My friend and I ordered bacon cheeseburgers and fries. The prices were great, quite reasonable and the prep time was excellent. The burger was as good as I’d hoped and imagined: fresh, flavorful, tasty, filling and tasted like a home grilled burger. The fries reminded me of shoe string fries, very fresh unlock fast food joints. The counter staff provided great customer service: courteous, helpful and gracious, thanking me for coming to their establishment. There are many picnic tables with umbrellas out side for seating; the tables were clean and freshly washed, unlike some place where there is similar outdoor seating. This gem is a must stop to eat place if you’re going through Bridgeport. Thanks Lynda!

Review is for the dipped cone only… A small cone is 2 – 3 times larger than a McDonald’s cone. The ice cream is truly thick and creamy. The dark chocolate shell is thick, real thick. Best dipped cone that I have had. And the three people with me agree.

For a first meal after a week of back country hiking and exploration, it was extremely welcome to enjoy a very delicious Ortega pepper and Mushroom burger that was prepared in good time. The service at the window was courteous and efficient. They seemed organized and clean. (I was pleased to discover that they offered free WiFi, too!) I may have been biased, but that burger seemed exceptionally tasty, eliciting many yummy noises during the eating of it. Recommended.

Jolly Kone is a great little stop in Bridgeport for an old fashioned soft serve cone. It’s pretty popular and quite busy with lines that end way past the parking lot. The service is quick though, and the people that work there are friendly and efficient. I was really debating on whether I should order a Marshmallow shake, which sounded pretty dang good, or to get the soft serve cone. I went with the cone, but look forward to my next visit so I can try out that marshmallow goodness. Let me also mention that I saw a man walk past me with a banana split and that thing was loaded! I guess it will be at least two more trips back so I can fit that one in too! For $ 2.45, you get yourself a pretty big ice cream cone. The soft serve is creamy, not icey, which tells me they use a rich milkfat in their machines. Mmmmm Thank you for a cold, tasty ice cream cone on a hot summer day!

Five stars for some awesome customer service! My 6 year old forgot his water bottle there when we lunched there on Tuesday; on the way home on Saturday, we stopped by to inquire if by chance it was turned in. The owner said, «Oh, yes, I took it home for safekeeping!», jumped in her car, and was back in 10 minutes with the water bottle. Yay for businesses run by real humans!

Roadside burger ‘n’ cone stand, with great fries, lots of other good food, large selection, and veg options. Their umbrellas and bright red picnic tables provide a perfect place to sit and watch the passing parade of humanity, both on Main Street itself(aka 395) and on the sidewalk. They offer their guests free WiFi, and they are close to the other key Bridgeport businesses. We visit Jolly Kone at least twice a year during our trips through town.

Driving long distances makes me feel like a marathon runner. You laugh, but it takes a lot of energy to focus on the road for such a long time! Look at truck drivers for example. How do they eat such large and hearty meals and down Super Duper Giganto Gulps while commuting cross country, and maintain such amazingly rubenesque physiques? Obviously it’s a combination of the air shocks in their seats that make them feel weightless and the large number of calories they burn sitting in them concentrating for hours on end until they reach their final destination. I use this rationale when I decide to stop at places like Jolly Kone for snacks I’d otherwise deem irrational in my everyday life. We were coming through Bridgeport on our way back from Mammoth and I was feeling famished from 100ish miles we’d just completed, and decided we needed to stop for a snack in order to make it back to Reno safely. We settled on a large malted mocha shake and a large fry. I went large because we were sharing it, and by sharing it I mean I’d be consuming ¾ of everything ordered. Since there were two of us, I’d only be consuming ½ the calories though. Check my math. I think that adds up. Right? The shake was great. Rich, malty, and with a nice coffee hit! PROTIP: Caffeine burns extra calories and keeps you awake and alert, so always go for the option with coffee if you can. The fries were great too! Crispy, salty, and perfect for enjoying alongside a chocolatey shake. All in all, in the 3 hour road trip I was sure I’d burn at least 3,000 calories, including the boost you get from the caffeine. So consuming 1,500 during a single stop seemed completely reasonable! I mean, I had to make sure I wasn’t going to fall asleep or pass out from low blood sugar. Needless to say we made it back safe and sound, and with time to spare! I attribute all of it to maintaining a proper diet on the road, and owe all of this to the truck drivers of America who have shared this invaluable knowledge with all of us.

Good stuff! Stopped at this small town in Bridgeport to get a quick bite before we headed out to Bodie Historical State Park for a rare one of three night tours. Tried this small burger joint that sold a mix bag from snow cones to burritos to bacon cheeseburgers to ice cream to massage?! Anyway, the food prices were not too bad at all. We had their beef burrito and cheeseburger with fries. The burritos were a foot long and the cheeseburger was a nice size that filled me up. Loved the fries too! They were surprisingly tasty and delicious! Everything was made fresh to order. There are enough outdoor patio seating in front and side of this establishment and most are under a huge umbrella to keep you shaded and away from the sun. This ‘fast food’ stand looks simple from the outside but their food is nothing but. Young and friendly folks running the counter taking your order. Has its own private parking lot but seems to be popular that it can get full quick so you might have to park on the street. We were able to get a parking spot right in front where you place your order in small windows. Yup! We got out of our car, took five steps and we were placing our orders! Two window counters to place orders and one window for pick-up. There’s something for everyone(even vegetarians)! They do accept credit cards and I think they also have free wi-fi too! This Jolly Kone is 180 miles away from where I live but we would definitely come back here to eat when we’re in the area again.

Yup — burgers, burritos, ice cream, and massage services, all under one roof, and it’s located at the base of Pemberton’s Trailer Park, just down the way from the detention center. Hail Bridgeport, CA! Seriously though, the food is not bad, just extremely pricey. They offer a wickedly good soft serve«Kone» as well, and seem to be one of the few remaining places around that still serves RC Cola. In cans, mind you. What was the most is that I designed a couple of advertisements for this place back in the day via one of my former employers in California. At the cash register, I was offered an inkjet printer produced business card, complete with ketchup and mustard stains intact, and was told that the sign outside was the only company logo they had. So, I snapped a photo of the sign, and proceeded to create a very interesting ad layout…

Mmmm, Jolly Kone was quite tasty and the perfect afternoon snack on a warm and busy 4th of July! The place was packed but the staff was up to the task. Quick service, tasty treats, and a good price. Perfection!

After a long hot day scouting out potential primitive camping sites around Mono Lake, it was great to pull in here for that all-American road trip must — burger and fries and a chocolate shake. Everything is made order, so be patient. I ordered a mushroom cheeseburger. When our number was called, I sat down in anticipation. Oh. How disappointing. The fries were thin and crispy. The shake was small but delicious. The burger, I’m sad to report, was bland. Worst, the mushrooms weren’t fresh, but straight out of a can. They had that gray, processed look of sadness. GAHHHHHHH.
