Our first choice for BBQ was closed on Mondays so we found Dickie’s and rolled the dice. We had a family combo meal and it was great. The staff was really nice and the soft serve ice cream was free.

The price is okay. But the quality is bad. The steamed beans looks brown, and everything is too salty

If you live nearby and are feeling lazy, Dickey’s is an acceptable option. Otherwise, be prepared for a massive spike in your blood sugar levels. The quality here is better than Bandana’s, but this isn’t St. Louis BBQ. The ribs are hit or miss – sometimes good, sometimes awful. Lots of sugar in the sauces, sides, sodas, and ice cream.

Exactly what you think fast food BBQ would taste like, nothing exceptional but not awful. First off this location actually shares a seating area with Applegate’s, which offers soups and pre-made sandwiches. I wasn’t impressed with the selection so I headed over to Dickey’s and ordered The Westerner Sandwich, which is served with 2 meats and cheese. I decided to get the Texas Style Chopped Beef Brisket and the Spicy Cheddar Sausage. Overall the brisket was ok, I did seem to like the Spicy Cheddar Sausage more however it really didn’t impress me. My meal was served with two sides, so I tried the Waffle Fries, which were so-so and Au Gratin Potatoes which much to my surprise were actually the highlight of my meal, wish I would had two sides of that instead of the Waffle Fries. Overall this is a decent option for BBQ, however I would much rather drive town 170 to SugarFire or down 40 to Pappy’s instead.

I didn’t realize that this was a national chain but I think that’s a good thing! The food is delicious at a great price and the guys working were super nice and friendly. The beef brisket was beautifully tender and the mac and cheese was a gooey mess just like I like it. The best ending to the meal is the free ice cream!

While a national franchise, they only have a few locations in the St. Louis area. That being said I really like their BBQ, as always with my reviews of BBQ’s you don’t have to be fancy and you don’t have to be expensive to be delicious. Good portions, cheap price and really the key factor to go from 3 stars to 4 stars. FREEICECREAM!!! Not really a sit down and get served kind of place, but a lunch time on the go for a quick pull pork or beef brisket sandwich.

1st time going Dickie’s BBQ pit, and it will definitely be the last. I ordered the Fall off the Bone Rib Plate, and it does fall off the bone, but the flavor was totally absent I’ve never tasted a more bland piece of meat in my life.

This is a very little-known location tucked into the same building as the Applegate Deli. Because of two fantastic stores in the same building, parking is a nightmare. When I went into this location after having a terrible experience at a different store, it was the peak of the lunch rush but that didn’t stop the staff from giving me and the rest of the people in line great service. It starts with a bright-eyed boy with a smile and a cheerful«Hiya! How ya doin? What can I get started for ya?» I got my ol’ reliable: Big Barbecue Pulled Pork Sandwich with no onions. Then of course I had to get a couple sides. My favorites are the mac and cheese(made with a 5 cheese sauce! Yummm!!!), the coleslaw(creamy and diced just how I like it), the bacon green beans(bacon makes everything better), and the onion tanglers(I put them on my sandwich). After getting rang up and my food bagged to take home, the awesome guy at the register told me about their punch card. Free Big Yellow Cups, free sandwiches… I am all for free stuff! Then of course you need to take a trip over to the side station for a mix of the Original and Sweet BBQ sauces and some vanilla ice cream. Very quick, easy, and painless. I suggest this location to anyone looking for quick and simple BBQ… Just try to avoid the«popular» lunchtime ;)

I don’t know why BBQ places can’t do everything well. The brisket here is amazing, moist, fatty, and falling apart the way it should. The spicy cheddar sausage is great as well. Fried Okra is the way to go on the sides… But the ribs are really lacking. It’s a great place to go if you’re in the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way to try it. 4.5 stars.

These guys make great barbecue with generous portions at a good price. The staff is super nice and the two for one pulled pork sandwiches on Tuesdays is a great deal.
