I’m not sure how we have missed this place. It was a great find tonight. Quiet atmosphere and super polite and friendly staff. Food was great! Super fresh — tasted like homemade noodles in my lo mien! We will be back for sure.

My wife and son had lunch last week here. They ordered fried rice with chicken and shrimp. They both noticed an air freshener was spraying close to the table which they could taste and smell. Later that day, both started feeling bad and had bad diarrhea throughout the night. I called the restaurant manager to let them know and no one ever called back. I was just trying to notify them of possible bad food. I hope no one else gets ill due to their food. No plans to go back.

This review is for the English lunch menu. Like its sister restaurant on Concord Rd, it is a schizo restaurant. Poor food for the English menu, good food from the Chinese menu. My Chinese friend told me that the good chef had moved here from the Concord restaurant and to only order off the Chinese menu. But it was lunch time, I was in a hurry, and just wanted a quick lunch. So I ordered Szechuan chicken from the lunch specials. It was like China Spring or one of the other suburban chains. I would not recommend this place unless you are prepared to ask for the Chinese menu and get the waitress to interpret it for you. Or BETTERYET, go to Lucky Bamboo in West Nashville, or Chinatown in Green Hills. You can order off the English menu there and get a decent meal. Not here.

I’m pretty picky about Chinese food and Corner Asian Bistro hits the spot. The Sichuan chicken is the way it is suppose to be with nice pieces of hot pepper throughout the dish. I usually go to August Moon in Green Hills for my Chinese food fix so I was so happy to find a place close to me in Brentwood that fit the bill. P.F. Changes is good but often their sauces are just way too sweet and when you order it spicy they merely put red pepper flakes on the food and not bird chilies. It’s gotta burn(but in a good way) to be authentic for me. Went today and had the chongqing chicken dish and it was terrific even with so few ingredients and didn’t leave me feeling like I had overdosed on sodium.

I will start off with the good. Their lunch menu is reasonably priced and the portions are generous. I got Sesame Chicken with brown rice and Hot and Sour soup. The soup was very good and the sesame chicken was as well. The bad: Their was broccoli served with the meal which I was happy about until I bit into it and it was cold. I appreciate quick service during lunch but I felt rushed to order. We asked for more time then the server was back almost immediately to take our order. Overall the food was good and I will be back for lunch because of the close proximity to my office. After coming back for a second time I have decided I really like this place. The food is great and their lunch prices are amazing.

Great location! Stopped in for an impromptu lunch! There were seven people! We were promptly seated, which was awesome! But, the food wasn’t so awesome! We had a variety of dishes from lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, to cashew chicken! Unfortunately, the consensus wasn’t good! Bland, flavorless, mediocre were a few of the terms used to describe it! The service, though, was very fast! Be aware with the noodle dishes at lunch you don’t get an egg roll or soup, whereas the other ones you do! Also, be aware the gratuity was included for our party of seven!

Finding a place like this in Nashville sounds like the setup to a bad joke, but this China Bistro is the real deal. Ordering off the Sichuan side is a tremendously good idea and everyone should do it. I can’t speak for the takeout or Americanized Panda Express-like fare, but it’s so worth ordering off the flip side of the menu. While not identical, it reminds me of several dishes I’d had during a trip to Shanghai and have longed for since. Get here quick, I envy the locals who can come here all the time. As a traveler, I’ll have to settle for the visit and hope to get here again sometime in the future.

I can’t tell how authentic the food is, but in my opinion the restaurant is a little overrated. Or perhaps I set my expectations too high and got disappointed. *Service: 4⁄5. We came in as a large group(11 people) around 6:30 on a friday and didn’t reserve a table but we had no difficulty getting a table. The waitress was quick and efficient in taking order. We were told that they have a secret menu in chinese so my friend asked his friend to write the names of the dishes in chinese to show to the waitress. The food was slow, though, but it could be that it was a friday night and things got hectic easily. At the end we asked them to slipt the check evenly among all of us and they had no problem with that. Credit or cash are both accepted. *Atmosphere: 4⁄5. Looks nice and clean. Nothing really special. *Food: 3⁄5 We ordered dumplings as appertizer, then for main courses we had fish, mongolian beef, farmer beef, sesame chicken, steam veggie, hot pepper chicken, spicy lamb. Stay away from the lamb! It is really salty and doesnt taste like lamb at all. Farmer’s beef is the best, very tender and well seasoned. Other dishes are just average. I normally don’t eat spicy food but can still handle the most spicy dish we ordered. White rice is free to refill. I think they ask for 50c extra if you ask for brown rice. I paid around $ 17 including taxes and tips. Not too bad but again, I don’t think it’s a very outstanding restaurant.

Grabbed a lunch on Friday at about 12:30. Plenty of seating. Service was quick and attentive. Beef with Broccoli was fresh and well seasoned. Hot and sour was garden variety, but good.

Nashvillians love their Panda Express, Pei Wei, and PF Changs. They also love their Strip Mall Chinese Food joints that serve up the same old American Chinese dishes just like every other nasty strip mall and food court that cooks in a wok. Well, thank goodness, Corner Asian Bistro is serving up something better. Although they offer the same old dishes Nashvillian’s love, they’re fresher and use a better quality meat and oil. Go for it. If you must. I know, you will order the Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and General Tso something or another. For the one that wants to really enjoy some good food, try the Authentic Chinese choices such as Szechuan Cumin Lamb(or beef), the Chongqing Hot Pepper Chicken, or the Eggplant with Garlic Sauce. I have a long ways to go to keep working through the Authentic Menu, but I will keep working at it. Keep in mind, unless you order a lunch plate, these dishes are best served family style. The Cumin Lamb is tender and stir-fried with cumin, onion, peppers and dried red chilies. It’s then tossed with fresh cilantro for a fresh finish on the palate. It’s the dish by which I judge any Szechuan spot anywhere in the world. The Chongqing Hot Pepper Chicken is really incredible. The dried chilis with fresh chilis and the fast fry method makes for a dryer texture on the outside but juicy in the middle. The Chongqing Peppers leave you with a slight numbing feeling. Don’t mistake this for that weird dental numbing jelly, but it’s definitely an interesting experience. The Eggplant with Garlic Sauce is sweet and not very garlicky. It’s a great way to balance out the heat of the other dishes. I was glad when Lucky Bamboo started serving some Szechuan dishes and helped move Nashville towards the 21st Century of Global Dining, but Corner Asian Bistro has really stepped the game up! Not only is the quality at Corner Asian better, the location is better for me. Lastly, reviewers who compare this place to the average Nashville Chinese Game may not love the authentic dishes. It’s like comparing apples to oranges. Hopefully, more and more people will order the authentic dishes and encourage the cooks to keep more of it coming.

This is such s nice place. Friendly, inviting, great place for people watching. The problem is that my meal was a disaster! I started with the traditional hot and sour soup and a spring roll – safe right? The soup was good, spicy and a large serving for a cup of soup. I waited on the spring roll but it didn’t come. I heard that the spicy cumin beef was great here. I asked the server if rice came with it and she didn’t understand me. She eventually came back to the table and asked me what type of rice I wanted. I specifically asked what was in the spicy cumin beef and she told me just beef and onion. I had quite a surprise when it arrived with red bell peppers and jalapeños. It wouldn’t have been so bad except I’m allergic to bell peppers and I really didnt want to get sick. The manager came and it was whisked away leaving me with a bowl of white rice. THEN the spring roll came which was nothing more than cabbage in a wonton wrapper-almost inedible. The server returned at this point to ask if I was ready for the check. Whaaa? I told her I hadn’t even had my entrée. Then the manager came back with another cup of hot and sour soup. This place is a comedy of errors. After waiting 49 minutes the manager brought me a new spicy cumin beef but it still had the peppers in it. She said not to worry because the meal was comped. I could hardly contain myself. Then the manager returned with the check and proudly announced she had given me a 10% discount. Are these people smoking crack or what? I asked her if she was serious and she grabbed the check only to return in a few seconds with a tab for $ 4.37. I paid it an left in a huff. This was a really awful experience. In fact, possibly the worst dining experience ever.

Everything about our visit was perfect. We got in and out for lunch very quickly. Our server was friendly and warm. The food had a nice Asian flavor to it. The price was just right for a afternoon lunch.

This is clearly an authentic Chinese restaurant. One side of the menu is designated the American side and the other side the Sichuan side. We have always ordered off the Sichuan side and were told it is being prepared the way it is in Asia. The dishes were prepared fresh and we enjoyed them all. If you do not know, Sichuan food can be spicy and the Corner Asian Bistro does use pepper. Servings are generous and served with white rice. It is clear people eat family style and they cater to that customer. My reading of the menu is that dishes on the American side of the menu may not reflect what food is in the dish(Happy Three). Dishes on the Chinese side of the menu directly reflect what is in the dish.(string bean and garlic) The restaurant’s atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing.

Great authentic Chinese restaurant. After living in the Nashville area for 13 years, I’ve tried quite a few Chinese places, looking for something that is more authentic(like you would find in Atlanta, or California). This is the closest I’ve found. They had snow pea leaves, which were very flavorful(and hard to find). The garlic eggplant was very well done, nicely seared on the outside and soft on the inside without being mushy, with just a bit of spice. The scallion pancakes are homemade and crisp. The fried rice had a nice wok flavor, and wasn’t generic-Panda-Express-tasting. I would have tried more, but will leave it for a future visit. I’m guessing most everything is good. Service was a bit slow, but I forgive that if the food is good. I will definitely go back.

Have eaten there 2x now. Standard Chinese fare with some Thai options as well. Perhaps a couple of dollars more expensive that what you would come to expect from an order by number Chinese American but the quality reflects the price difference. The quality of the meat is what I would consider well above average. Hot and Sour soup is excellent!

Really great authentic Chinese. We’ve been there 5 times now and tried a total of voer 10 different dishes(quite a few of those multiple times). My Chinese friends think its very good too(and the number of Chinese eating there should be inspiring as well!) If you want to try some solid Chinese favorites I would recommend you start with such appetizers as the steamed dumplings, salt and pepper pork ribs, and the beef and tendon(this ones a cold dish but seems to be one of the favorites of the Chinese people I know – it’s usually translated as «husband and wife sliced beef» if you want to Google it). For main dishes, the Farmer Beef, Cumin Lamb, and Twice Cooked Pork are really delicious. If you want to try a soup, I would strongly recommend the Noodle Soup with Sirloin. The veggies we’ve had have been amazing as well with the surprise winner of this category going to the Eggplant in Garlic Sauce – even if you think you don’t like eggplant(me) it might change your mind. Other than that, the stir Fried Long Beans and the Water Spinach(not always available and not on the menu) are yummy and very satisfying. Can’t speak to the«American side» of their menu, but I would avoid it. This place’s strength is that it has a real, trained Chinese chef, and most«real» Chinese food will satisfy every American palate. So when ordering, I’d say: be adventurous and embrace this rare opportunity to enjoy authentic Sichuan food in Tennessee.

Food here was good. I’m surprised to find a nice Chinese food place that serves traditional Chinese dishes out here in Tennessee. My slow cooked sirloin noodle dish tastes like the ones you can find out in California(where there are Asian). I definitely recommend this place to those who want to try real traditional Chinese food.

Ordered take out with friends on New Years Day. It was the worst take out EVER! So disappointed. The«fried» rice was brown sticky goo. What a mess. They were out of egg rolls. We received NO sauces and NOFORTUNECOOKIES. The shrimp in lobster sauce was a mess too. It was like runny soup. We ordered 8 dinners and 8 apps. The best I could say of all the food was below average at best. I could go on and on but won’t. Just know you’ve been warned. You are better off going to one of the chain restaurants. I wish we had … We will NEVEREVER return

My friends and I have been going to Corner Asian Café and the owner happened to mention that this place just opened up! It was about 15 minutes closer than the other location so we decided to check it out. I’ve had a lot of trouble finding decent, authentic Chinese food in Nashville so was super excited about going. Verdict: the traditional Chinese menu is on point. I have tried a bunch of things on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. The salt and pepper spare ribs as an appetizer is amazing! We always get the spicy fish delight. It usually is pretty oily but still pretty good. We’ve had the lamb cumin and I love it — it’s a good mix of numb and spicy. Roasted pork belly with mustard greens is one of my favorites. The meat is quite tender and the mustard greens are a great addition. The potato thread is amazing! If you’re in the area and don’t mind the Brentwood traffic, this is definitely a good place to check out. The wait staff was fantastic and very attentive. Additionally, the food arrived quickly and everything was delicious.
