I got a great cut and color from Mary. Reasonable price, nice gal, listened to what I wanted and made good suggestions. I will be coming back in 8 weeks!

April, April, April!!! She is definitely the«go-to» person for most things hair. The reason I say most things, is because I haven’t seen her do everything. She is definitely the person to go to for up-do’s or any special occasion hair. I took my daughter to her the day of her Senior prom and my daughters hair was gorgeous! She has cut and colored my hair and I walk out feeling fantastic! During the many times I have been to this salon, I have seen the end result with her customers… She knows what she’s doing! She’s friendly, sweet and professional. The shop itself, very clean and comfortable feeling… Not that overpriced spa/salon feeling. It is located in the Albertsons/Petco/TJMaxx center, right next door to Styles for Less.

This was my first time at Mane Frame, I picked the place cuz it’s right around the corner from my apartment to be honest. It’s a little hole in the wall in the Alberston’s/TJ Maxx strip mall. I’m new in town so I was looking to try anybody. When I called receptionist Julie was very nice, she set me up with Taylor and reassured me that she was good at cutting curly hair. I think it was probably more about Taylor being available at that time to be honest. First impression, there were alot of older ladies milling about and chitchatting, I was hoping my stylist was a little more youthful. I arrived on time for my appointment at 5pm and was told Taylor would be right with me. A few seconds later she came to the front(with foils in her hair) and told me that she was washing out her color and would be a few more minutes. She’s in her early 20’s and has nice hair so although I was a little bit put-off having to wait, I figured I’d better just give her a chance. I flipped through some hair mags that she provided and notice like most salons, there are no mags that feature curly hair or ethnic hair types. No Brown People = discouragement. I am biracial have fairly curly, thin hair. I have only had one good haircut in my life & have learned that everyone will say that they cut curly hair but few have mastered the carving technique. Anyways, Taylor called me back about 5 minutes later. The salon is very narrow but its deep, probably had about 8 – 10 stations. The décor was decent and the salon was fairly neat. I talked with Taylor about needing more volume in my roots and face-framing pieces. I told her that I was %100 open to her recommendations and trusted her skill. She trimmed the ends about an inch and cut the layers into a way that seemed like they would blend well when it was dry. We talked while she worked, she is super nice and made some recommendations for restaurants and hotspots when I told her I was new to Brea and looking to explore. She says that the stylists are training to do that new Keratin Straightening Process in a few weeks and that she is going to be the model. I’m excited to come back and see how it looks, maybe get it done myself. Taylor also does extensions and color, by the way. Her rates are amazing, I was excited to see her menu. I got a pretty good cut(haven’t straightened it or curled it yet) that I’m happy with. Taylor’s style is fun & cute and just what I was looking for in a stylist.

I’ve been going to April for about 3 years now. I am 39, and this is the first time I actually like my hair most of the time. She is very skilled with all types of hair. Mine is very fine and thin with weird inconsistent curl, and I’ve been able to grow it to below my bra strap and still receive compliments on it. April also does great with coloring. She has done both highlights and all-over color for me. She recommends good products, and when I’ve followed her advice I’ve been very happy. Her haircuts grow out well, and you don’t feel like you need another haircut 3 weeks later. I have had good friends go to her and have become devotees. i highly recommend April.
