I don’t know if it’s because of the new ownership or what we ordered but this place went from really good to bad very quickly. Husband ordered the vegetables dinner entrée and the veggies tasted like they had been cooked on top of lighter fluid. I ordered the veggie marsala and my friend ordered a shrimp pasta — we both had to add salt to our dishes to get any flavor. It was soooo bland. The bread was dry. I am so disappointed. I will blame it on City Grill. I want Fitness Grill back…

Fitness Grill was a big MEH for me. I was completely disappointed in the vegetarian options and the décor of the place and whole ambiance was a little awkward. So first, I went onto Unilocal to find this place. I was looking for a new veggie friendly place to try on a Friday night. I looked up the menu from this place’s website and it looked unique. It had some fun drinks and lots of veggie options. After arriving, we found out there is a sister company of Fitness Grill that serves a totally different menu and they have a boring menu. We ordered a Mexican pizza and it was basically Del Taco on a piece of bread. The place was pretty empty and the waiter seemed new and wasn’t too knowledgeable about the menu. Our friend got the veggie burger and was not satisfied either. I would say skip this place if you’re looking for vegetarian/vegan food for sure, I’m not sure about the meat options, or just look for that better sister restaurant that has the menu online!

I lived in brea almost 15 years and Ive never stepped foot into this place until last week. I wasnt sure what I was going to get myself into, but the menu looked very delicious. I seriously wanted to try 5+ different plates at the time. I ordered the halibut and it was very good. The food might be a lil expensive but definitely a trade off for healthy and good food.

The food and service are always excellent here. We eat here two to three days a week, it is that good! The price and atmosphere are great too! Art and Betty

This place is very cozy and not ever busy. They have a really great selection of healthy meals. The vegetable dinner is my absolute favorite. It is a plate of grilled veggies on a bed of seasoned rice and spinach! I’ve also had the pizzas, the burgers, the french fries, and the salads. All very good. They have a great wine selection and a bar for solo diners. The reason I gave this a 4 and not a 5 is that the last time we went, the bread they give out was stale. It may have just been a one time occurance

Service from Justin R. was top notch. We were in and out in a matter of 40 minutes which was great because my friend needed to be somewhere. The interior décor definitely has a dark rustic feel to it. The menu can be a bit daunting because of all the different options they have. Now that I think back I should’ve built my own pasta but it probably would’ve came out to the same price. I got the cajun shrimp pasta with fat free marinara sauce. The menu calls for the pasta with a white wine alfredo sauce but I’m not a fan of alfredo although it might’ve been a more fitting pairing. Don’t be taken aback by the prices because you’re truthfully getting what you pay for. The quality is excellent here.

when i came here i thought… great one of those places that only has sandwich wraps for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. one thing i know for sure, is that sandwhich wraps are soooo boring to me. of course, i was wrong. they have many other choices on the menu like, pizza, enchiladas with tomatillo sauce, and breakfast items. everything is light here or made with wheat! duh, it is a fitness grill… personally, i’m not really into eating light foods like light sour cream, light dressing, etc, for me it just makes food taste different but i’m not complaining here. my food was really tasty. i had an omelette with italian sausage, feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and potatoes. it was a pretty large sized omellete i couldn’t even finish it. i felt like i was eating as healthy as most vegerarians do, even though i was eating sausage and i have no idea what it’s really like to be eating like a vegetarian. i guess my omellete just tasted healthy! the pizza was loaded with vegetables and also delicious. i would come back here if i felt like eating healthy one day but i still do like my buttery omelletes with the works and lots of meat! i don’t know about the décor. i was confused about it. it looks mardi gras and gaudy at the same time. still great service and great food. i guess if yr trying to eat healthy the food is good just be careful of how much you eat :)

So far I have eaten lunch here twice, it has incredible food, they cook it when you order so it may take a little longer than fast food but it is excellent. So far I have had the Steak Bearnaise — the sauce had a chipotle kick to it which I don’t like as much as standard Bearnaise but it was still good, it came with baked fries which were OK. This last trip I had the Beef Tai Chi and that was like a stir fry with Beef. High quality meat on both occasions and prices reasonable bearing in mind I was having steak. The wait staff have been very attentive on both trips; today’s was exceptional! Parking not an issue on either visit.

You’d think with it being a «fitness grill» that I’d end up ordering the salads and wraps. Nope, sign me up for pasta and pizza. I’m somewhat mixed about the food… I usually order the pizza and enjoy it here. The last couple of times I ordered the pasta there was something missing… I think it’s the accent flavors(seafood, artichokes, veggies, etc.) to the pasta ratio. There’s just so much pasta that it starts making the dish a bit bland and I think the angelhair may have been a bit overcooked. I guess I should stay away from the pasta… The food is pretty decent and I like that they try to serve a healthier menu, although I’m not sure I believe all their numbers. ;) The portions seem a bit large for their pasta and I think they need to do something different with the bread. They serve a couple of kinds of healthier bread and have balsalmic vinegar and olive oil at the table for dipping, unfortunately I don’t think the flavors really mesh.

It’s ironic that reviewers are complaining about the parking to access a restaurant for those with active/healthy lifestyles in mind. Yes I agree it gets crowded. Look closer to Burger King(yes. gasp. you’ll have to take a small walk) and you’ll find plenty. I discovered this place a few months ago through Google Maps. Being someone who was/is in the process of getting fit, I was very excited to try out Fitness Grill. From my first time there, I loved it! It’s great to see a restaurant be so conscious about what they put in their food. Their lunch specials are very reasonably priced. Entrée, drink, side dish for $ 8 — $ 9. Includes bread that is AMAZING when dipped in the tomato basil soup(my personal favorite side dish from their menu). Lexi, one of the waitresses, is very nice. She’s usually there during lunch hour and has come to know me and my friends from all of our frequent trips there. Simply put, this is a great place to go if you’d like to go out to eat but don’t want to worry about overdoing the calories/fat in your meal. I personally love the pizzas, veggie burgers, and turkey sandwiches. Their lunch special meatball sandwich was very good too, but quite messy. If you live in the area, be sure to keep an eye out for Fitness Grill coupons in Clipper Magazine!

I love coming here because everythin taste so good & it’s healthy. It’s usually pretty empty and the service is great! Came to celebrate my bdai w/my boo. The waiter was very patient with us as we took awhile to decide but we finally decided on the FREE bread to start with… kinda flavorless… comes with dippin oil but it’s whatevs salmon di sole: wow this is good and for so few cals?!? my boo was surprised at hell at the flavor in this… it comes lookin like a pizza… thin crispy crust… blackened salmon… good portion… very flavorful chicken lettuce wrap: an oldie but a goodie… my boo always gets this when we come… because it was my bdai i got FREE cheesecake! this thing was pretty good… not bad but not spectacular the décor is a bit lacking but i suppose it fits the health theme… and my only real gripe is that it’s pricey… and i don’t do expensive so even tho i love this place i rarely come

Yes I agree the name is outright corny, but with a name like that, its sure to attract diners with their waistlines in mind – or at least appear as if thats the case. I called in an order for pick up at 12:45, i phoned them way ahead of time just because it was around lunch-rush on a payday.(this is the reason I opt to take my lunches post 1pm lol), anywho, I ordered the chicken spinach wrap without knowing how much it cost. I mean hey, its a fucken moss-colored tortilla with some chicken and some wilty greens-how pricey could it be? So I arrive there about 12:40. The place wasn’t packed at all. Oh I WILL say that the restaurant itself isn’t hard on the eyes :) My order didn’t come out til nearly 1pm. WTF? I was thinking I ‘d better get some compensatory chips or something? Oh wait, healthy place. right. Shocked the shit outta me when I got my bill, $ 14 and some change for a damn burrito! This better be worth it. Anyway, down to what’s important, I took my first bite, and let out a sigh of nummmyness that you only see in commercials. It was damn good. Not quite worth $ 14 and some change, as that’s like 3 meals at McD’s but it was goooood. It was flavorful, with all the right textures playing in my mouth. This shit’s probably fattening, I muttered to myself. On a side note, I did look up the nutrition facts AFTER my meal, and I seem to have made a decent choice. Overall, bad service, bad prices, but damn good food. I’d give it a higher score but the double whammy kinda killed it. Okay I’m not going to ramble, I’ve said my piece.

Came here on Thursday night for dinner. It was the last night of ‘Customer Appreciation Week’, which was 50% off your entire bill. Drinks included! Killer deal. Definitely feeling the appreciation!!! I’ve been eating at the Yorba Linda location for over 12 years and although I like the YL location a bit better, this place is still 5 stars. The menus are slightly different between the locations. Brea actually has more choices. The bread is the same at both and we always eat way too much of it! I had ‘The Duo’ which is two chicken enchiladas with chipotle cream sauce. It was very VERYGOOD. They don’t have this on the menu in YL. The place was pretty busy, but our service was good. The parking at this place sucks tho. Better to just park way across the shopping center and walk… after all you are going to a place with«Fitness» in the name! Get that big ass movin! The place has only a few tables outside and they are move like on the sidewalk. The YL location has a much nicer outside patio area which is a must.

I came here for brunch with my BF’s family Sunday afternoon. I never venture out to Brea but apparently this place is really good and offers healthy dishes. Two words! BOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS $ 17 which includes your entrée… Gigidy Gigidy Goo. Oh yeah! We all had that special. Which makes sense when a Mimosa alone is $ 5 and the entrees are anywhere from $ 10 and up. My bf’s mother and I both had the Crepes(forgot what they are called) which were stuffed with ricotta cheese, fresh strawberries and blueberries topped with a fresh cranberry sauce along with scrambled eggs and two turkey sausage patties. My bf ordered the breakfast burrito and his father ordered the steak and eggs. My entrée was absolutely spot on perfect. So much food that I couldn’t eat it all… I did have a bite of my mans burrito which was tasty… The waitress was so so so nice and kept refilling our mimosas. I know I was a little tipsy because I latter thought that I could wrestle my dude and take him out… Only to find out that he is much much more stronger than I. This place also has half off on Wednesday’s… Great place…

I really wanted to like this place but I’m kind of disappointed. 1) Liked the BREADBASKET. Especially the one with bit of red peppers in it. That’s really addictive. Wheat bread was a little dry. Nice addition of fresh herbs in the oil/balsamic vinegar mixture. 2) Disappointed in the MEDALLIONSSALAD which is 3 medallions of grilled filet mignon over romaine, carrot, green apple, blue cheese crumbles and smoked vinaigrette. The medallions were maybe 1/16″ of an inch thick and overcooked, which made them taste livery and tough. I mentioned to the waiter that the beef was overcooked and he asked the chef to prepare new medallions for me, which came out quickly over a bed of diced romaine. The new ones were much thicker, ¼″ thick, which makes sense because it’s really hard to cook any meat medium rare when it’s so thin. The resulting dish was tastier, the smoked vinaigrette matching well with the meat. Still, I wish they could have utilized better salad greens. I expected a place called«Fitness Grill» to have the best salads. Would not order again b/c I’d fear thin cuts of meat and sub-par greens. 3) Enjoyed the ITALIANPIZZA. Whole wheat crust and low fat cheese is a great way to sneak in healthier ingredients without sacrificing taste. The sausage was flavorful. Would order again. I have a sneaking suspicion that their strong point are the pizzas.

Quick service, good food and healthy too! I am a fan for sure! I had come here only a couple other times but never for brunch. Yesterday, my old school BFFs and I went to Fitness Grill for some girl talk and some brunch. I had the Avocado, Turkey Bacon & Mushroom egg white omlette. It was fluffy, a little cheesey and a good portion for only 9 or 10 bucks I believe. I also got a yummy cup of coffee too. The Turkey Burger my friend had looked so good. Also, the taquitos we had as an appetizer were spicy and delicous. They were not too busy on this gloomy Sunday morning but well worth the drive up the 55÷5÷57. The waiter was friendly and very apologetic for interrupting our girl talk.

I avoided this place for so long just because the name makes me think of bland food. But ‘Fitness Grill’ is exactly the opposite! I’ve come here at least twice in the last month, once because my buddy and I were drunk and hungry, another because I wanted good food with a female friend of mine who is lactose intolerant(sucks to be her). So it at least can serve a wide variety of occassions! I have yet to find something on the menu I didn’t like. My latest favorite entrée here is the Beef Tai Chi — a spicy plate of rice, peppers and chunks of beef, almost like a stew without the heavy sauce. Great stuff, got my nose running all night! No need for appetizers — their variety of house bread with oil & balsamic is a great start. Desserts are just as good. I am truly skeptical if this place is really healthy for you because everything is so good. I think it’s more about awareness here than it is healthy. Service is always good, a great alternative from the noise of Taps or the Yardhouse in Downtown Brea. They also have a great Sunday Brunch menu if I recall correctly. A little pricey, but definitely worth it!

Nice décor, the dining experience is pleasant and relaxing. The service was okay, the food tasted fresh, and I had trouble deciding what to get because everything sounded good. But whether the food is as healthy as the restaurant’s name implies is anybody’s guess. Maybe it’s lower in fat and trans-fat free, but most of the dishes tasted a little high-sodium. In any case, the name is sort of stupid, and they should change it =P

This place has an interesting concept — the title more than implies its healthy fare. I’m in this plaza a lot to get my regular dose of Starbucks and got hungry so right when I was about to step in Corner Bakery I got sidetracked and decided to check out this place, which is right next door. The name is not my cup of tea — «Fitness Grill»? Couldn’t come up with a more creative name? But the décor was actually surprisingly modern and hip — I liked! They have an extensive bar area and a huge seating selection. I ordered the Ostrich Burger to go($ 11.95) — I know, I’m crazy! I’ve never even seen Ostrich Burger on a menu before even though I’ve heard of it, the idea of trying something new intrigued me. I assumed it would taste like chicken? Taste like chicken it did not. It was very gamey and definitely resembled red meat more than any chicken I’ve ever had. It came on a whole wheat bun with melted swiss cheese and some pesto mayo. It wasn’t bad, but I didn’t love it. My boyfriend ordered the burrito. It was topped with a lot of melted cheese and wrapped in a spinach tortilla with carne asada chunks and beans. I thought this was good and very large! I enjoyed it more than my Ostrich Burger. I’d like to try some of the other things on their menu — they offer pizza on a protein enriched wheat crust, almost all of their burgers/sandwiches come on wheat bread, and there’s also lots of vegetarian friendly options for those who don’t eat meat. I found this restaurant to be very creative with a huge range of options… hopefully I’ll be able to bump it up to 4 stars after trying it a few more times.
