Sleepy’s

My fiancé and I went in to get a mattress. Jim, the salesman was very nice but not overbearing. He had us try out multiple mattresses varying in softness and firmness, seeing as I prefer a soft mattress and my fiancé prefers a firm one. After presenting us with a few to get a feel for how our needs matched up he let us freely explore mattresses in our price range and firmness preferences without any pressure.
He was super clear and open about pricing and financing options and worked with us to get us the best pricing possible in a way that felt very honest and straightforward. He even pointed out a box spring with storage underneath to add to our bed as opposed to the one that came with it when I expressed interest in a bed frame with storage. All in all we had a positive and satisfying experience. Thanks a lot Jim!

The guy was super slick with a very rehearsed routine. Reminded me of a used car salesman. He was over-​the-​top friendly, UNTIL I told him that I wasn’t necessarily buying anything «today». MAN, did his persona change. Suddenly, he was like, «Oh, ok, good luck, have a nice day.» Certainly does not make me want to rush back. Prices seemed high, plus they are notorious for all the «add-​ons» at the end, PLUS delivery is $ 99 extra. No thanks, Sleepy’s.

Overall, I’ve had good experiences. Mattress salesman don’t exactly have the best reputation, but I’ve generally been impressed by the character of local Sleepys employees. I’ve purchased 2 mattresses in my life, and after thorough research, got both of them from Sleepys. Most recently, I spent about $ 1000 and got a full mattress set that I’m still happy with. The salesman was a decent guy, and saved me tax by pointing out that I could pay in Brattleboro, and pick up the same thing in Keene. Another salesman was not very helpful when I needed to replace the box spring, but a Sleepy’s employee from a different location went the extra mile to take care of me in that instance. All three times I picked up bedding, the salesman stayed after hours and sympathized with a young, inexperienced bedding consumer (me), going out of their way to help me get everything tied down safely.
I’d recommend doing your research before you buy, and comparing prices on all parts of the bed, at both local stores, and online retailers like Amazon. At the very least, it can help you bargain for a better price if you decide to buy locally. If you need a bed, I would recommend giving Sleepys a look if you have one nearby.
