This place is great! I was honestly thrown off as to how friendly the staff was. I went in around 8:30 — 9:00 the other night and the staff was so welcoming and helpful I couldn’t believe after such a long day that they seemed so happy to be there! I got a tuna sub and one of the gentlemen working there could tell I was new to the place and was so helpful and patient while I was trying to decide. I’m a college student in the area and I’ve been to many local delis but this up and coming place is by far the best! Keep it up!

Tried the Roast Beef & Provolone and hot Pastrami Reuben regular subs today. The roast beef was delicious, nice rare, fresh carved tender goodness with lettuce, tomato, onions, oil + vinegar, and mayo. So yummy! My BF got the pastrami Reuben and although he said it was very tasty, the amount of meat was less then he would anticipate for an almost $ 10 sub. Two subs and two small sodas were over $ 21 which we thought was pricey. But overall, we really enjoyed it. We’d go back again.

Ok. I am unclear as to what the hype is. My #17 cheesesteak was the most average &NOT very generous portion sub I have ever had. Pretty disappointing since everyone on here is raving about the subs here. It was also $ 8– which I think is a lot for a skimpy sub. I could’ve gone to Subway for the same sub.

One of my favorite Sub shops. I have been coming here since they opened and will continue to frequent this establishment! Great Grinders and Friendly staff! And my order is always consistently good! Giant Steak Bomb is my go to! Enjoy!

Good Subs, after having Subways for quite a few years, and a lot of excellent delis in Branford, its time to break out of the habits. Jersey Mike’s subs are decent and cheap!

Hands down the best subs we’ve had in a while. So yummy we went back two times in one weekend! We had the big kahuna cheese steak and the buffalo chicken wrap. Everything was prepared as requested. My only wish is that the wrap portion be bigger. Other than that, I wouldn’t change a thing. Even the staff was phenomenal– which is rare in a «fast food type» setting. Every associate there was friendly and professional– speaks volumes to the management team. Bravo.

You’ve got to give credit where credit is due, Jersey Mikes is by far the best sub chain there is. Incredible bread, fresh cut deli meats. It really is refreshing to get a decent product from a chain. No matter which location you visit you know exactly what you’re going to get. Prices are fair, portions are huge. I do recommend calling ahead if you’re going in with the dinner or lunch rush, the line can get a bit crazy. The staff does a great job of ushering people through but they cut and cook everything to order, so it takes a bit longer if you’re on a crunch for time.

I love Jersey Mike’s. They are by no means four stars when compared to a New York hero, but for the type of sub shop that they are and in comparison to their competition, they’re definitely four stars. The sandwiches are great, and the service at this location is consistently awesome. You pay a bit more than Subway, but these sandwiches are stuffed to the brim and actually leave you full(I can rarely finish anything bigger than a mini). They constantly send out coupons for BOGOfree on subs, free chips & drink w/the purchase of a sub, etc, so I rarely pay full price for a meal here. A #13 Mike’s Way on rosemary parmesan bread with Lay’s potato chips(on the sandwich, of course) and a diet Coke is the best hangover cure ever.

I’m never disappointed. I like this place. Fast and courteous. Not snotty kids with better things to do. Food is just as expected.

I’m sorry but everything at subway isnt fresh. If you havent been to Jersey Mikes you have a problem. They have the freshest meats, breads and vegetables etc… I love there gaint 13 and 7. My mother is hard to please with sandwiches and she loves there 7 or 9.

I enjoy a good grinder… Submarine Sandwich… Hoagie…call it what you will. This is my go to spot. The meats are sliced in front of you, not the night before like some other places. «Fixins» are turned over quickly which means no brown letttuce. The breads have texture, soft and flavorful. If you think Subway is a great sandwich, you haven’t been to Jersey Mike’s or your taste buds need refreshing.

Really good sub place, love there philly cheese steak sub. The service is good and polite and the place is clean from the inside. Its a fast food chain but I dont consider it fast food because they make everything fresh. The meat is fresh stead of already cut meat you see at subway.

Love this place. I heard about it while watching The Food Network and decided you take a long Sunday ride to try it for myself. The service was great and the staff was very knowledgeable about the menu items. Everything tasted so fresh. I wanted to try everything. It was definitely worth the drive from Hartford. I wish they had closer locations.

So much better than Subway. Subway says eat fresh but in reality, their meat comes pre packaged. At Jersey Mikes they slice it fresh right in front if you. The bread is always fresh. You pay a little more than Subway but their sandwiches are much bigger and more full. Mark, the owner in Branford is a nice guy and remembers everyone’s names as they come in the door. Everyone is friendly and efficient.

Tastes better than subway but you still feel like you paid for a bit less than you should have gotten. I’ll come back because the sandwiches are straight killin’ it but I need to buy less beer one week if I’d like to go… nah I won’t.

yah i know it is a chain or franchise or whaatever. decent sandwich and everyone in front of me was ordering crazy meaty coldcut things that all looked good. my vegetarian sandwich was good. i have never seen one of these in NJ. kinda like subway, but different. fresh sliced cold cuts and cheese. they cleaned the deli slicer magic machine before they cut the cheese(ha i just said cut the cheese) for my veggie sub. big line, quick service.

Better than subway by a lot, and you get more for your money. My hey cut your cold cut right in font if you, witch I think makes the difference.

Better quality than Subway. I don’t mind spending more money for a more flavorful sandwich. The interior makes me feel like an extra on Jersey Shore which makes me lol. Decent sammiches 3 minutes from my house, yes plz!

Food: This is a good place for subs. Their food is full bodied and fresh. Sometimes there is too much bread in portion to the fillings(meat) Service: The kids there are quick and friendly. Environment: A good place if you’re just stopping for a quick lunch. Not the kind of place you want to sit in for over 20 minutes. Cost: A bit expensive, but worth it if you’re in the mood for a sub.

I can see why people generally give this place two to three stars. The atmosphere is generic, the bread choices are limited, and the prices are average. On the flip side of that the ingredients are fresh, the staff is really nice, and the food is pretty darn good. I went there several days in a row since it’s close to my new job. I was welcomed by the friendly staff right away as I entered the line. They’re pretty busy whenever I go and they’re, also, very quick to help everyone in the line. The food is pretty good. I really like buffalo chicken wraps(pretty much anything that’s buffalo or barbecue related) and they have a good one. They write what you want down and how you want it, and then take your name down so they can hand it off to the right person when it’s ready. I’ve tried a few different sandwiches now and, to the only dismay for their sandwiches, there seems to be only one kind of bread. They have three choices for wraps but no alternates to white bread. I’m not usually a sticker for bread options but I would hope they have an alternative of whole wheat(or something comparable) in the future. The prices are fine for their establishment and they have a good selection of drinks, chips, and cookies. It also doesn’t cost a higher price to have any of those extras, either. I don’t really get the sides but it’s good that they have them. Overall Jersey Mike Subs is a good sandwich shop and they have good selections and prices. I’d definitely recommend anyone to try them out even once.
