Pizza is terrible; other menu item are okay. Everything tastes like it came out of a bag or a box. reminds me of fast food; like a Sbarros. Not exactly cheap either. This is the 3rd restaurant to come into this building since 2006, and none of them seem to be able to make it… I can’t imagine theses guys will either… unless they sell a lot of alcohol. Take out service is good; special cashier and door for take out orders. Service inside is not good. Wont be back

I want to like Burrata Kitchen for so many reasons including the location, the very friendly staff and the very good servers but each time I eat there something is going on that causes long, long waits for the food. Last night was no different. I arrived around 6:30 with my 2 children and were greeted right away but then were told that the hostess called out and things were a little chaotic. I’m not sure why a hostess calling out should create chaos and although most tables were full it was not that busy and there was no wait. I should have known it was going to go downhill from there. We were seated by someone else who also told us about the absent hostess and that she would have a server help us who normally wouldn’t cover our booth but our server seemed to disappear. 2 strikes already and things continued to get worse. We waited for close to 45 minutes for our appetizers, had to cancel my salad and then had to wait another 25 – 30 minutes for our dinners. My children, who are always great in restaurants, were growing more and more restless and bored. The food finally came and the pasta in my pasta pomodoro was so overcooked and mushy I could barely eat it. They have been open long enough to figure things out and have been in the restaurant business long enough to know you have to always be ready for anything. There are too many options in the area for me to want to keep going back to experience the issues they seem to keep having.

Had a great Valentine’s Day dinner with my husband. Nice ambience. Good food overall. Ordered fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. Sauce was great but shrimp had a weird flavor to it. Peppercorn Parmesan dressing wasn’t that good. Onion petals were delish and dipping sauce tasted like outback’s. They served fresh warm bread and tasty olives for free. Idk if they do that every time. This was our first time there. All in all we were satisfied. Milkshake was soooo good. But it was really cold and I had to wear my coat. But it was the coldest day of the year that night.

Great food at average prices. Great beer selection. Atmosphere was new, clean, and had numerous TVs around. Bar area was very comfortable with many high top tables and high top booths. Calamari was on point. Perfectly cooked. Penne Rustica was the special that night. Came out great. Lots of flavor. Broccoli Rabe and sausage was also very good. Not too bitter, and sausage was not overdone. Recommend to anyone looking for a good place to eat and relax.

I ordered the tortellini dish. It took over 45 minutes for it to come out. The restaurant was not busy and the server had maximum 3 tables. She apologized twice for the long wait, claiming there was a large party ahead of us in the kitchen. A good restaurant should be able to handle a party at the same time as regular service. We then waited an additional 15 minutes for the server to come back and run our credit cards. Again, it was not busy. This kind of service is unacceptable– I will not be returning in the future.

Can I give TEN stars?!? Food was good. Atmosphere lovely. BEST part of the whole experience was that my daughter with celiac disease could eat there safely! Manager Wendy made sure that salad was served without croutons, my girl’s choice of toppings was put on a gluten free crust and baked in a GF oven. Food prep done carefully and without cross contamination. All in a timely fashion and without making her feel like it was a big deal. Thank you, Wendy and over the top awesome Taylor! We will be back again, and will sing your praises in the meantime!

Had a really delicious dinner not too long ago here. My husband and I decided to come back and choose this for the location for our baby shower we will be having in January 2016. Will update review after. Our server was on point and always made sure we had everything we needed. the food was great, can’t wait to try their pizzas.

Had the Bruschetta which was very good. Plenty of ripened seasoned tomatoes. Also had the meatballs and it tasted as good as any meatballs I ever had. The Eggplant Parmesan was delicious and was a good size helping. Also had Di Pesce over pasta. It had plenty of shrimp, scallops, clams and mussels in a light sauce. The sauce was good but could of had more flavor. The second time I went I had the Apollo Chèvre which is one of their specialties dishes. The chicken was dry and over cooked. They could off set that if it had more sauce. It was good otherwise, but not flavorful as it could of been. All the pasta was home made and came with a great salad and hot crusty They also had s singer who was very good and added a nice touch

Twice now… twice; I come to this place for a drink and a meal. Twice now I sit and watch the bartender talk to his buddies, or tally his tickets. When this place hires someone who actually wants to take an order, I’ll be back. Until then… not so much.

Tried this new restaurant in Branford for dinner tonight with my BF and stepdaughter. We were sad to see SBC closed because we always enjoyed it here. Burrata Italian Kitchen has taken its place. We had the mushroom risotto, chicken Parmesan and chicken fingers. Service was great by Taylor C. who was a sweetheart to us. Loved the ambiance here, nothing beats listening to Sinatra while eating Italian food! Shared house specialties and was very friendly and knowledgeable. Fair prices, good selections, BIG portions! We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend giving here a try folks.

«Oh great, just what the shoreline needed… another Italian restaurant.» that’s what I said to myself when I first learned of this place. Don’t get me wrong I like Italian food but I had hoped some other type of restaurant would open in this spot to add more variety to this area’s food scene. Their logo confused me at first. It’s a picture of a cow’s head(or maybe it’s a bull or water buffalo head) which lead me to think I was entering a steakhouse. Eh with the word pizzeria in its name perhaps a picture of a pizza or a tomato would be more appropriate. The restaurant is clean and airy on the inside with a large walk-around bar in the middle. There’s a separate side entrance for take-out service. When I visited I ordered one of their specialty pizzas; the Kitchen Favorite. It was OK, just OK. It was a little too thin and undercooked for my liking. It’s style was more in line with artisan style pizza rather than New Haven style or New York style pizza. I suspected it was going to be artisan style when I learned they only serve one size of pizza. So you probably wouldn’t take your entire little league here after wining a big game and order ten thousand pizzas. It’s not that type of pizza or pizzeria. They have other food items besides pizza; lots of pasta dishes and other Italian specialties. Their menu claims they get their sausage from the Bronx. Bah. I suppose that sounds pretty nice to somebody who doesn’t know the local food scene, but with so many excellent local sausage makers in the region is that really necessary? New Haven has one of the largest Italian American populations in the nation and with that automatically comes some of the best tasting sausage in nation. Longhini makes a kick-ass Italian sausage that can easily compete with the big boys from«da» Bronx. Just saying. Prices are OK but their pizzas can get pricey when you start adding up the toppings or order their specialty pizzas. For example my pizza was nice but no way was it worth $ 14. For the same price I sort of wished I had gotten a medium pizza from Pepe’s or Marco’s instead. It would have been bigger and I probably would have enjoyed it more. Overall my first experience wasn’t bad. I’d return again to try a few other items or maybe just to sit at the bar.

Decided to give it a try. Had heard mixed reviews. While our wait for only a couple of apps. was lengthy the waitress could not have been more friendly. Once our food arrived it was worth it. The mussels were so flavorful and the meatballs were AMAZING topped with ricotta and a delicious sauce that was close to perfect. So fresh! Saw portions come out for other peoples entrees and they were huge!!! Will def come back again. Hope it stays!

Portions are huge! Out of the 5 of us dining only one person thought the good was a little bland. Fish and chips were amazing! Much better portion, taste, and price compared to many other places around.

Came on a Thursday and sat outside. Only table outside. Ordered the fresh pasta carbonara and fettuccini. Besides the over 20 minute wait, the pasta tastes great and well seasoned. The fresh pasta had a nice chew. Wish the bread was served warm and with some oil. Great tasting olives on the table. Will definitely come back. Despite slow service, the waitress was pleasant. The ambiance inside is nice. Sat outside bc it was beautiful, tho I didn’t take into account the bugs biting my legs! My fault.

The bad thing about Burrata is if you’re vegetarian or don’t eat veal/pork I would not recommend going, you can barely order anything. Their pasta and pizza sauces have both veal and pork in it. Being with 2 people who are vegetarian we were limited to just garlic bread without the dipping sauce, eggplant fries without the dipping sauce and a white pizza. Nothing else. If Burrata were to change their sauces to accommodate people who are vegetarians and don’t eat pork/veal I would 100% recommend it. The food we were able to order was great, but it’s a little turn off when you are extremely limited to order.

We were big fans of SBC, and we were worried the new theme wouldn’t cut it. We were pleasantly surprised. The renewed interior was fresh and much more upscale looking. The eggplant fries were the best! I had chicken Parmesan dinner and thought it was one of the best I’ve had. My wife had the mushroom risotto and loved it.

It was a beautiful evening so we chose to sit outside. The road is a little close, but hey –its outside! Every person, from the hosts to the bartenders as we walked by, to the wait staff were as friendly as anywhere I have ever been… and that is awesome to me. They food was delicious, well cooked and presented well. I stayed with the meatball salad… it was different and I’m not sorry I tried it… the meatballs were great. She had a Caprese salad… it was good, but I’m from Jersey and without a good Jersey tomato… For the main I had the Penne Abbate… who can pass up chicken and sausage… not me. It was perfect. The chicken was juicy and it has a really tasty sausage. She had the Cozze en Brodo… and she wouldn’t share… I’m guessing that meant it was delicious. We aren’t in Branford often, but this will be our go-to place…

We ordered takeout pizza. The Burrata Napolitano was delicious. My wife felt that the tomato sauce was a bit bland, but I liked it. We also had the Rabe & Sausage. Very little sausage, few hot peppers, just ok; I wouldn’t order this again. As I waited for the order to be rung up, I noticed the manager/expediter tasting dishes before they went out to the dining room; this indicated to me a staff who cares about quality. I hope that Burrata does well. We will try their food again. We usually order pies a bit on the well done side; ours were overcooked. I would recommend taking the doneness as the kitchen offers it. The crust was what you would expect from a brick oven. Not Pepe’s, but pretty good. The young lady who was manning the takeout area was very pleasant and I had no problem parking near the takeout entrance. Total time inside was about three minutes. Keep up the good work, Burrata. I wish you(a and my taste buds) well. Next time: loaded potato pie!

These folks need to pay attention to who is in the place. Came in for cocktails to get a feel for the place. The lack of attention at the bar was horrific! I counted 15 people at the bar and at last 10 of us with empty drinks. Let me also say that we were just about the only people in the place, so no it was not busy. There was a man, who I will refer to as «plaid shirt man» who was busy making all kinds of drinks which he then invited the wait staff, bar tenders, and himself of course to drink. Now, my assumption was that he was trying out new drinks which is great but you have your waitstaff and bartenders huddled around the end of the bar tasting? During open hours? Hmm I’ve got an idea, why not offer it to your customers who are watching all of this going on while our glasses are empty. The unusual thing here is that it was«plaid shirt man» who I think was the manager or owner who was totally oblivious! Just couldn’t figure it out. I wouldn’t know what the food tastes like as I never got a chance to order. Attentiveness cost you not a dime but lack of customer appreciation can cost you plenty! I’ll keep my eyes on the place too see what others experience. Maybe try again?
