Never would know that this small bar would have such great food. Ambience is simple and not unusual. The menu has been simplified and the food is always fresh and tasty. Garden salad with their house balsamic is one of the best salads I have ever had. I have had mussels at many restaurants, but my husband and I say that they are the tastiest we have ever had. They come with toasty bread, but the broth is so delicious, that we requested more bread. If you are looking for a juicy burger you need to order the 8 oz burger. Top it with whatever you want, but my husband likes it with just American cheese and grilled onions. Cooked to a perfect medium, it was juicy and flavorful. The fries were crispy and HOT and perfect for dipping into their delicious Ranch dressing. I had the delicious special of sea scallops on top of pasta… which had to compete with any top restaurant. The drinks were awesome, and the service was impeccable. Couldn’t ask for a better meal. What a hidden treasure on the bottom of Branford Hill.

This is on the same level as that sh! t hole Cava I reviewed! Total waste of money. Go to Goodfellas in New Haven and get real Italian. Went here night before thanksgiving. The food was lousy, didn’t taste great at all, bread was stale. Then we stayed for drinks and the they might have had the worse DJ ever. It’s not 1987 where freestyle music ruled. Omg, it was brutal. I hope it was just an off night for kitchen but not in a hurry to go back! They also should be searching for a new DJ ASAP!!! Someone who can play something past Stevie B era. LOL And look at the response below! That explains why this place keeps plummeting in reviews! The owner talking trash to customers! Nice job pal! Hahahah

This place sucks. The food is meh the drinks are ok I mean they always had good bartenders but to go there for cocktails late night? Ugh you just want to turn around and run. The seedy clientele, the annoying ass «dance floor lighting», and the lack of a cocktail waitress. I mean what is the point if going here? Oh ya and the owner is a pervert

As an event facility for small and medium get togethers allegras is great. The prices beat all local establishments and they’ll make the buffet menu to your liking. You can also order off the menu for events or Paul will plan out special menus people can order off of. I like the penne a la vodka and steaks and burgers especially when I eat at the bar. It’s a decent night crowd for drinking an hanging out, no troublemakers. Another plus is that there’s a ton Of parking in the front and back. If you’re having a birthday party or graduation or whatever you would be foolish not to call here first you’ll save a lot of money and get a quality product.

This dive bar is incredibly underestimated, what a hidden gem in Branford! You walk in and it feels like home, I typically call my girls to shoot darks and sip cocktails. If you haven’t tried their lobster grilled cheese you are missing out! Best sandwich on the menu. A generous amount of lobster meat. Also they have an excellent sound system pumping out music. Love this place, thanks guys!
