Fast service. Great value. Passing through town on I20 looking for a place close to the interstate that the as not your typical chain. Good chicken, black eyed peas and lima beans but the cornbread was really great!

Love this place, been here 3 times and it’s almost as good as eating at Mama’s house! Can’t beat this for a $ 8 lunch.

One of my favorite places for blue plate lunch. My favorite pork chop hands down. Definitely the best country cooking in our part of Brandon. Homemade southern goodness at its best. Mmmmm. Their food is solid country cooking and delicious. Portion sizes are generous & the blue plate prices come with a drink. Check their FB page out if you want to see the daily menus changes for lunch specials. My hubby and I are regulars for the fried chicken and the fried pork chops(which are some of their regular daily specials) — their seasoned batter is the best around & the food is always cooked to perfection. The side veggies are everything you would expect out of a southern country restuarant & each plate comes with cornbread or a yeast roll. The restuarant dining area is small and homey, which can cause some back up during the busy lunch rush. The staff are always super nice, and running around like busy bees. Patience is a virtue to keep in mind, as everything is cooked to order so don’t expect a fast-food in & out experience. Call ahead 15 – 20 min if you are in a hurry. I would say the average wait is 10 – 20 min for your food(and sometimes up to 10 min to place your order if they are really busy), which isn’t long but it seems that it is at lunch. To me the wait is definitely worth it.

Never had a bad experience. Some times the staff seemed overwhelmed but the food is what you want in comfort food. The fried pork chop is worth the wait.

This used to be a place my coworkers and I would frequent as recently as a month ago. Unfortunately the last 2 visits were awful. They have a revolving menu, and still were out of many of the items that were supposed to be available specifically on that day. Worst of all, the cheeseburger, which used to be a hidden gem, was disgusting the last time I ordered it, complete with leftover crispy, burnt grease that was obviously scraped from the bottom of the pan. To top it off, the service has been very unfriendly as of late. In a town like Brandon with not many unique restaurants to choose from, it was very disappointing to scratch this one off the list of places I’ll go eat.
