Well, i spoke too soon. The first time I went there, it was great, however the next time, not so much! I asked if I can have 3 side dishes for my entrée. She said t would cost more… but if I choose the special, its only $ 10.99, and you choose the meat and 2 sides. I said ok then, chose the meat(beef) and 2 sides, which were beans and plantains. The meat is supposed to go in the large section of the container… but no, she put beans in the largest section and gave me a teensy serving of meat. THEN charged me $ 12.99 because I chose beef. What??? She didnt tell me I had to choose chicken or pork for $ 10.99, she said meat, then didnt even give me a decent serving of meat. Basically I was charged $ 12.99 for beans! A large portion of beans. and a bite of beef, which I got charged extra for. Rip off artists. Check out the pic! Highway robbery! I think she figured I didnt come there a lot when I asked if I could get 3 side dishes as an entrée. After ALLTHAT. i then found out you CAN get 3 sides ala carte. But of course she didnt tell me that… she couldnt rip me off as much that way.

Best place in brandon to get pastries and bakery goods, The pon de bono and pon de queso and russian coffee cake are some of my absolute favorite pastries morano has to offer but you cant go wrong with anything you get there, as for pricing, it can get a little expensive but you can usually get out of there for under 15 $ for 2 pastries and a coffee

I have been here numerous times and have always chosen dessert and have passed up the buffet. I did see a few dishes I did like but I was more interested in the sweet side such as the cupcakes. ~ BIRTHDAYCAKE ~ !! My mom came here to get me a birthday cake. She texted me a bunch of pics of the cakes that I could chose from. I picked the cake I wanted which is the one pictured. She also asked if I wanted«Happy Birthday» written in cursive handwriting with a light purple frosting. I accepted. The cake doesn’t have buttercream frosting. It was all shortening and it had four layers of frosting. Two cake pans were used. I was not able to eat even one whole piece. I had to put it down after a couple of bites. It was too rich. JUSTSHORTENING… UNACCEPTABLE… ITWASTAKENBACK!

My wedding cake was stunning. Moist, delicious, fresh and so beautiful it was sad to cut it. The top was even good a year later for our anniversary after being in the freezer(still moist and tasty!) I told them how I wanted it to be designed and they delivered EXACTLY what I wanted. A 3 tiered, yellow and red velvet layers with strawberry filling and butter cream. In fact the owner of the bakery loved the design so much that they have a picture of MY cake hanging on their wall by the door. You can see the dove table decorations and my grandmother’s cake cutter in the picture! This place is fantastic and I will surely be coming back for more!

Okay so why am I just finding out about this bakery when I have been living in the area for so long? I recently found out about this bakery from a close friend. I was looking for pastries that tasted homemade. When I walked into the bakery I was impressed with the wide variety of selections and also noticed how clean the interior was. There is indoor and a small outdoor dining area. They also offer hot and cold food mostly consisting of Hispanic dishes. But they are primarily know as being a bakery. I’ll try those next time but on this visit I only wanted pastries, I had a craving for some good olé pineapple upside down cake… and guess what? They had it!!! I was over the moon. I was very tempted to try everything because they all looked so delicious. But I did not give into my desires and only ordered what I came for. I was pleased with every bite of the pineapple upside down cake. It was very moist, soft and flavorful. By far this was by best dessert ever! This will be my new place for my sweet tooth addiction. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of bakery goods. Others have suggested trying their sandwiches. I’ll probably try the Cuban sandwich on my next visit. Thank you Moreno bakery for a tasty cake treat!

The Picadio is good but very overpriced. I purchased 8 ounces and a 16 ounce container and they charge me the 16 ounce price of $ 16. The Latina supermarket is only 2 miles away and is much cheaper for the same quality of food.

Speed was good but the food was not real Cuban Bakery food. Bread was French and the meat empanadas were sweet. La papa rellena was the only good thing. What a shame. I miss Miami’s Cuban food. I won’t return to this place.

The only thing I do not like about this place is that it’s not open later. Even though it’s primarily a bakery, it is also perfect for casual or carry out meals. There are several combo players ranging from $ 10-$ 15 and also several hot dishes. The desserts are endless! Perfect for a single cheat meal as well as small and large gatherings. There’s something for every taste craving. You will not be disappointed.

Good food and pastries. The lines are a little chaotic, but manageable. The Cuban sandwiches are very good, but you’ll only need a 9″ — they are large. The pastries were very scrumptious too!!! Prices are a little on the higher side, but still worth rating at.

Moreno Bakery is a conglomeration of not just a full service traditional bakery. It’s anything BUT traditional, and seems to have a cult following. There are a number of succulent traditional recipes, such as Chicken Marsala, Pepper Steak, etc., plus ethnic dishes such as Empanadas, Cubano Sandwiches, etc., prepared for you. There is an extensive list of other sandwiches, all made on their Cuban Bread, baked fresh daily. They also will make you a sandwich that YOU invent. There also is a separate buffet section, with ethnic foods such as ropas viejas, although I did not check prices or know much more about it than it’s there, along with some tables, both inside and outside, to sit and eat at. Moreno Bakery also will cater to your party or special event. You can eat-in or take-away your meals, pastries, cakes, and a wide assortment of many other items. We chose several items. A long loaf of Cuban Bread, a couple of cuppycakes, a half pound of cookies, a chocolate éclair, and a peanut butter cookie. My cuppycake choice was a perfectly made Mint Delight cuppycake, which reminded me of a Thin Mint Girl Scout cookie, only better. The chocolate cake was moist and the buttercream frosting perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of mint-to-buttercream ratio. It was not overly-sweet. It had a small center of lush chocolate about the size of a coin. It was topped with a half-piece of an Andes Mint Candy. I have to say, this was the best cuppycake I’ve ever had, and it was so rich and large, it needed to be eaten in intervals. Lol. My eating buddy chose a caramel/praline cuppycake. I tried a bite, which was very good. The praline encircling the cuppycake tasted like the praline of the South, New Orleans to be exact. Yummy. The Bow Tie cookies, which mainly comprised puff pastry with a hint of cinnamon and doused in powdered sugar, were light and fluffy. The chocolate éclair is waiting in the fridge for us to share for dessert tonight. You can eat only so many sweets. Lol. This bakery is very good, and lines move fast. There is a lot of retail help, some who are very helpful and perky, and one sour apple in the bunch. To be expected. Carry on. The system of pulling a number and waiting for it to be called works efficiently here. When we return, I’m dying to try the Cubano. I love a good Cubano! There are endless great looking food items to try here. Can’t wait for the next time!

This place has delicious food, but the customer service is atrocious. I planned to order a cake for my moms birthday, but I got so much attitude from the girl who answered the phone and the decorator who was taking my order that I finally said«forget it». I’ll take my business to a bakery who wants it.

The regular food isn’t the best, the sweets are amazing, the employees are helpful, and the homeless man that is normally outside is super friendly and greets everyone without asking for anything. If you come here make sure to try the sweets before deciding your feelings of the bakery but 3⁄5 stars from me until the food improves a little.

I’ve heard about this place for so long but they surprised me when I finally went, with their selection! Hot food, pastries, sandwiches, it’s like a pastry lovers dream in here! The Ropa vieja and yellow rice is very good. Their chocolate and almond croissant are delicious. I thoroughly recommend practically any pastry that they make, although it can get a bit pricey. The service has always been ok and pretty efficient as well.

I love the bakery section. There is much to choose from and everything I’ve tried so far has been good. I have had the guava and cheese pastries, cookies, king cake and cupcakes. They also have good soups. I love their Cuban sandwiches. They also have good coffee like café con Leche and cortadito. Also the hot food is good to but a tad over priced for a meat and 2 sides. Meat pies are bout $ 2.50 and they are flaky and tasty.

The desserts here are great. As for the food I think it’s a little over priced. This might just be because I’m used to eating the same food in orlando except in buffet style(el palacio) but it’s still good! Although the empanadas and potato ball(with meat inside) is a good price in my opinion. I’m not so much a fan of their cookies because they are not as soft as I would prefer. But I like the tres leches. Butter cake and napoleon were standard.

What a great place. The selection of baked goods is amazing, it will satisfy any craving or sweet tooth. They also serve hot meals. Open at 7 am, this place has a great family atmosphere and everyone is always in a great mood. Fresh baked goods and breads everyday. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is purely due to the price. They are a little expensive IMO for certain things. I do fully understand you get what you pay for but, still a little high to me. You will also experience a wait as they are always busy.

4 stars because after giving Moreno’s more chances to win me over, I was glad I did. In my previous review, I recommended the lunch(they have an amazing cuban sandwich) but wasn’t a fan of the desert I picked. I still believe Moreno’s bakery is a good place to go for lunch but after a few more experiences with them, I now am also a fan of their sweets! I must have just picked the wrong thing the first time, either that or it was an off day for them. A friend of mine ordered her wedding cake from here and I picked it up for her to save her the $ 75. delivery fee. The cake was beautiful! Not only that, it was really good and moist. Not long after her wedding, I was in the hospital for a few days, and the same friend brought me cupcakes from Moreno’s to cheer me up. They were very very good.

Excellent experience in a delicious bakery/café. Plenty of workers, swift service. I was the slow one, making up my mind. The beef empanada(meat pie) $ 2.50 was flaky and flavorful but not as full as I would’ve liked and not as flavorful as Jamaican meat pies. The scachatta pizza bread $ 2.50 was a new experience for me and flavorful – can’t wait to taste test it up against Alessi’s version. Loved the gingerbread boy cookie $ 1.75, soft and gentle on the ginger. The $ 3 strawberry marzipan cookie was tasty(tho it got sold to me as «raspberry»). I still have a guava turnover, butterscotch chip cookie, vanilla gooey cake, pan de bono and cinnamon twist to try. Also bought a $ 3 Cuban bread loaf. Total $ 25. My only«gripe» is many of their prices aren’t posted making decision making hard(had they been posted I’m sure I’d have taken twice as much). They said their prices fluctuate with ingredient prices so it’s not possible. Their mini-pies were $ 6. Their big cakes were $ 30 to $ 35. Everything was beyond delicious. I can’t wait to dig into more of their sandwiches, tostones, maduros, rice, soup, etc. Wish they were closer to my home! 1⁄2016 update. Maduros are wonderful. Great pastrami on pumpernickel. Tasty media noche(too much mustard tho). Love the flying saucers(elephant ears), cinnamon straws. Pecan sticky bun and pineapple upsidedown cake were sticky – and better when warm. Can’t stop trying stuff here. Kid in a candy shop. Yum.

Cake Boss vs Moreno’s hands down Moreno’s wins. The display case captures your eyes. You can go up and down or right to left you will want to taste everything. Large cupcakes to die for. I get the large cookies for my staff so much they get excited when I come in with a white bag. Apple turnovers taste like apple pie. Add vanilla ice cream and you have a meal. Great stop in the morning. Oh you can get coffee juice and other things to get you through the morning. Thanks Moreno’s for putting smiles on my staffs face.

Moreno is the«sweet» haven for people of Brandon. An idea place for small snack on the sweet, big bite on lunch sandwich, or the hot deli dinner. Can you find it all in the bakery store. It is Moreno. We were here one time after 7 and they close. We only can wave our hand to the worker inside the store. Finally we are able to experience firsthand in the store about their food and sweet by come a bit early before 7pm. The display is look like the tour of around the sweet from cookies to cake. The selection is a lot for single store. Very impressive. The bakery also has Spanish hot deli for dine in or take out. They have Ox tail, mojo pork, bake chicken, lamb and more. It is an affordable for lunch box to go. They also can make the sandwich to your order. The best seller is the Cuban sandwich. Moreno serves the community well. However they close at 7 pm. Please go early.

This place is a sweet sensation. The minute you walk in, you will be like a kid in a candy shop if you love sweets. There are options galore. We came here onky for media noche sweet bread, and came out with a whole bunch more. They have a hot plate buffet area here for your cuban food fixins. They have Ropa vieja, roast pork, chicken, sweet plantains, tostones, rice, oxtail. There is a lot. And you can make it a combo plate for like $ 7, or pick out a la carte for $ 5 or $ 10 for 8 ounces or 16 ounces respectively. They also make sandwiches and coffee. Their Ropa vieja and roast pork was so good! Desserts are super plentiful here. I can’t even tell you a fourth of what they offer. We tried the big loaf of guava cheese bread. Colombians call it roscon and it is usually round. This is oval shaped and made with media noche bread. There is a lot of guava and cheese. I also picked a guava cheese cake and a chocolate banana cake. Super sweet, fresh, and rich. They make cakes here too. There’s quite a bit of tables and chairs inside and a few outside. This is off the beaten path. The address says Brandon Blvd. But it is in a small plaza. It’s definitely a sweet treat.

This delicious bakery is gigantic! Everything you can imagine a bakery might make, this place has, ready for you to point and say, «I want that!» They even have savory! We had just eaten lunch, so too full for another meal, but the roasted chicken smelled delicious! I want to go back for lunch see if it is as good as my cannoli. My sweet treat was really delicious! The only negative I can think of is, ordering was a little chaotic. The place was very busy, and there was no start or end to the line. The employees seem to just take whoever’s order was closest to them at the time. Overall, really good, and I will be back!

Is it a bakery or deli? We ordered the Portuguese and Pastrami sandwiches. The bread was good, that’s about all I can say about that. Not enough meat on either sandwich to really make what I would consider a legitimate deli sandwich. Both sandwiches were ordered as stated on the menu. The Portuguese sandwich was fine, but Pastrami was missing the Swiss cheese. Oh by the way make sure you keep your ticket handy, when they call your name you’ll need to have your ticket too. My ticket was with my wife holding down a table. The server had to go verify that I was the Mike that ordered those two sandwiches, like i was trying to get someone else’s order. I guess there were a lot of Mikes ordering Portuguese and Pastrami combinations today. She should have spent more time making sure she made the sandwich correctly.

Tucked away in the back of a Brandon plaza next to Wing House(before Kings Ave if heading east) is a hidden gem of a bakery. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the place and the various lunch offerings in addition to the 35 foot display of bakery items. Founded by a Cuban who escaped his country by boat, Moreno offers Cuban food as well as other items to please everyone. I got a pressed Portuguese Sandwich since I’m half Portuguese. It’s ham on a Portuguese sweet roll with honey mustard and mayonnaise. The bread is what makes this sandwich delicious, sweet cinnamon flavor. I also got an iced café de leche. Perfect and both items tallied only $ 7.85 incl tax!(sandwich was $ 5!!) Since I had enough room for dessert, I got some baked goods. Brownie cookie, cannoli, mango flipover and some guava thingy(see picture). All very good but the items cost slightly more than other Latin bakeries. Those 4 items ranged from $ 1.65-$ 2.75. Only a problem because I wanted one of everything. As far as service, the cute and friendly cashier I had gets an A+. However, there were 15 people working and some didn’t seem too thrilled to be working. C’mon! There is baked goodness all around you! Be happy! But they were attentive and I was served quickly so good enough for now. Also, with so many working there, maybe one can tidy up things a little better but I won’t knock them for it since it was fairly busy. In any case, they made a new loyal customer today.

Cakes at the Moreno bakery taste amazing. We ordered our wedding cakes from them along with a birthday cake. The first was a custom Mickey and Minnie cookie cake. We had Eloped at Disney’s Boardwalk and this cake was whimsical and perfect for the occasion. It was absolutely delicious! A month later we had a formal reception to celebrate our marriage. Moreno Bakery made us another custom three tier wedding cake. The icing was so smooth you would have thought it was fondant, but it was sculpted entirely out of buttercream icing. The cake was so moist and the icing tasted perfect! Not too rich. Our friends loved it so much that they too ordered their wedding cake from Moreno. The third cake we ordered from them was a beach inspired birthday cake for my mom. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling with buttercream icing. It was a hit! I highly recommend this Bakery! I’ll never go anywhere else. It’s just that good :)
