Presentation … Great Taste … Great Freshness … Great Price … Great, but watch how many plates you stack up! Lots of fun and great service for a low price.

This place was great while it lasted. The sushi and entrees were all delicious and very affordable. You can get carried away from talking with friends, but slow down and watch your wallet! The dragon roll and spicy salmon roll were my favorite. The Chicken teryaki plate was amazing. The servers just needed to visit the table a little bit more during the meal.

This restaurant is completely closed down. Actually you would never know it was there. It was good when it started out, but went down hill fast. Knew it would not last when it was always completely empty every day at lunch time.

I tried again. Our waiter forgot about us completely. Never checked back to see if we wanted to order from the menu(we did), if we needed more drinks(we did), never brought us tea, finally had to go find him and ask him to ring us up. We were the only table in the restaurant when we sat down, he subsequently got two more tables while we waited endlessly. Total of 8 customers. Self serve. I think I’m done with this place. Sorry, guys.

I’ve posted two reviews already but thought I should provide an update and mention the Japanese hotdogs are back. I’m a huge fan and if you try them, you will be too!

The experience of a sushi bar was worth the visit, but I would not return. There was a decent variety of food to choose from, but the sushi was of poor quality and did not look all too fresh. The price piled up(literally, as the plates are colour coded based upon price) quickly, and was not worth it considering the quality of the food. It was a decent experience, considering there are not many sushi bars in the South Shore. But generally, it just was not good.

Okay so this is mall sushi, and for mall sushi it’s pretty freaking good! Oh yeah and not to mention it’s sushi on a conveyor belt, that’s just cool.

this place was ok. sushi wise its alright for what it is. but the downside is that there’s a small selection of sushis thats goes around on the conveyer belt. if there isn’t what you see there you can place an order with the waitress. I wish it was more affordable

It is convenient because you don’t have to wait for a server I bring your food over or a chef to cook it to order. You literally just grab and eat. Only problem is you can clearly tell the sushi makers are not chefs. The sushi is poorly wrapped at times and I honestly can not tell if it is crazy fresh. The bill adds up because the rolls are small and it takes a lot for an average person to be full or comfortable. It’s good for quick sushi definitely have the dragon roll and crunchy salmon. A must go I don’t think so A quick easy go when you are in the mood for Sushi? Yes!

My boyfriend and I finally decided to try it tonight. First off, I hated the fact it was in the middle of the mall, and everyone would look at you as if you’re part of a clown act. I was however surprised about the price. It definitely wasn’t as expensive as I expected it to be. There wasn’t much to offer on the conveyer belt but we got attracted to the $ 12 meal deal so we ordered 2 of them. You are allowed to choose one appetizer, one entrée, one dessert, and either a fountain drink or green tea, out of the selections they offer. We ordered the shrimp dumpling and chicken gyoza for the appetizer. The shrimp dumplings were extremely small and mushy. The gyoza skin was tough and wasn’t crispy. We were allowed to choose«2 sushi plates». They didn’t have any I liked on the conveyer so I had them make me some off the menu. I got the dragon maki and shrimp tempura maki. My bf ordered the red dragon maki and another roll with mango in it.(Sorry forgot the name) The raw fish in the sushi definitely wasn’t fresh. I didn’t expect a whole lot going into the place because it’s in a mall. The fish has probably been sitting there for the longest time with not the right temperature. For our dessert we got the green tea mousse and chocolate mousse. They’re both really bad but if you were to choose between the two the green tea mousse tastes better and has a better texture. It’s more of a flan texture. The chocolate mousse was more like chocolate sauce. Mimi was our waitress and she was really sweet and honest about the menu. The only thing good about the place. Definitely not going back but at least I can say I tried it. The conveyer belt idea is «cute» and very«jdm» but not when you have noobs making the rolls.

I saw Wasabi just after it opened in the South Shore Plaza and knew I needed to come here. Alas, it was not as soon as I had hoped, but the Holiday shopping season gave me the perfect excuse. Mimi was a saving grace as we had little idea of what to expect. She explained the simple process: popular menu items are on the conveyor belt, grab as you’d like; other items, or if we don’t see one fast enough, she’ll put in the order. She was a little over-attentive, but I have a feeling that was more from us begin the only people in there than anything else. It is what it is. You’re in a MALL, so you’re not getting huge portions, and it’s not going to be anything fancy, But the food is good, and fresh. The novelty is why I’ll keep coming back. I could get pre-made sushi in the food court, but it costs more and its’ freshness is more suspect than at Wasabi. Not to mention that just grabbing what you want as it floats by is FUN. It’s also dangerous. Kids, please remember to eat responsibly when you come here or your waistline and wallet will suffer. When the food come to you(unlike a buffet where you still have to haul your stuffed arse to the steamtables), it’s far too temping to take«just one more shrimp tempura; I’m sharing it, so it’s not that big of a deal.» I will absolutely come here again. In fact, I intend to never go to the food court again; Wasabi is going to cost the same price, and provide same quality(maybe better) food, without all the hassle of being in the food court with its screaming children and piles of shopping bags placed strategically to trip and confound me.

Decent sushi in the MALL? AWESOME! I’m grading on a scale here because I want to encourage people to choose this fresh and good option over the horrifying garbage they serve in the«Food» Court. Wasabi is clean and has a nice ambience right in the middle of everything. It is staffed with super friendly, attentive folks, and the sushi is good and extremely affordable. I got eel nigiri(two pieces of eel on rice), a spicy salmon roll, and miso soup. My only complaint against Wasabi is not the food or the restaurant but a concern I expressed to the owners: they like to send around sushi on the conveyer belt so people can see it. If it doesn’t sell quickly enough the servers throw it out. It seems to me there must be some way for them to avoid such egregious waste of food. I hope they do. If they figure that out, they’ve got a winner.

Stopped here for a quick lunch between shopping. Wasn’t expecting much, didn’t leave anymore satisfied. I had a 6-piece raw salmon avocado roll for $ 4.25. I don’t know how long those containers of sushi sit out for going along the conveyor, but the one I had was warm. The rice was slimy from being out so long and the ginger and wasabi were stale. Look I know it’s mall sushi but raw fish needs to be kept below a certain temperature to avoid foodborne illness causing bacteria. Hopefully I don’t get food poisoning. Overall bad experience and I will not return. It’s worth a few extra bucks to go to Whole Foods where they’ll make it fresh right in front of you.

I like the idea of seeing your food and getting it yourself thing. Of course the price is not going to be cheap for«Japanese» food but its fun and interesting. I always get the scorpion roll, tysonn roll, and crunchy salmon and green tea mousse(although I feel like the fruit gel drizzle they put on totally taste like licking a toad but it does give a nice presentation). The spicy salmon was the opposite reaction– it was just all spicy besides that nothing else for taste. Service is usually nice and friendly. I just think it’s funny that I only see one Asian guy doing the sushi(sometimes), the rest of the time it’s foreign people, and they pull it off really well but I feel like it just doesn’t cut it for me, I want an authentic Japanese guy :/and then I remember it’s mall food, I can’t ask for more than foreign guys doing Americanized Japanese foods.

First of all I’m giving this place 5 stars because it does not deserve the abysmal rating it has now. Secondly, this is mall food people. Your expectations should be in line with that. For mall food this is great! Far better then the greasy, msg filled food court du jour. Its healthy, affordable and somewhat entertaining. I always wanted to try a conveyer sushi place so I was happy this opened up. If the idea of picking food off a conveyor belt doesn’t amuse you go elsewhere. That’s half the appeal of this place. On to the sushi. Its not gourmet of course but I thought it was reasonably yummy and satisfying. And for mall sushi it exceeds expectations. The portions are on the smaller side but every plate is $ 5 or less. I stuffed myself for about $ 20 including tip and drink. I think this is average considering most mall food is jacked up in price. 2 slices of Pizzeria Regina cost around $ 10 plus a drink and its $ 13. Johnny Rockets’ burger, fries and shake are around $ 15. Plus tip you’re looking at $ 18. So I’d say Wasabi is a reasonable option. And they carry Ramune! My favorite soda! The service was exceptional also. Our server was warm, friendly and efficient. Actually one day I came by with sushi from elsewhere and dropped my chopsticks etc. Without a funny look or a second thought the hostess replaced them for me. That’s good advertising! There is another sushi place in the food court and its awful by comparison. On the dry side, badly rolled and soy sauce is bitter and gross. So it makes Wasabi look even better!

The quality of the sushi is more in lines with 3 stars, however, there was an interesting variety of options, and our server was very attentive. Its also a nice option for immediate satisfaction if you’re hungry and an alternative to the food court. Its mall food so dont expect it to be comparable to other sushi joints, but I found it was decent and would likely go again if i“m feeling peckish while shopping around.

We tried this place twice. It was, well, OK. The«gimmick» of your food rolling around the conveyor belt does get old. In fact, speaking of old, we were mortified at the amount of waste that occurred just in the time of our short visit. Apparently since the fish warms up as it is sits out on this conveyor belt and the computer in front of the chef tells them when to pull a particular plate to throw out. I saw at least ten plates thrown out in a span of about 20 minutes. Shameful amount of waste. 3 stars is generous.

The only reason why I am giving it 1 star is because the service was great. Honestly, I think they give us great service to cover up the TERRIBLE food. The sushi doesn’t even TASTE like sushi. The fish were sliced too thick and it doesn’t melt in your mouth, the way it should be. The rolls were not rolled properly, the tempura was not crunchy, and the price is too much for what you’re getting. This place is too horrible to even exist. Don’t waste your time going to this place. Just go to the food court and get some MSG-filled meal that will actually get you filled and satisfied. Mind you, my friend and I were still hungry after spending $ 30 here.

Great idea, too expensive, moderate food. I think it’s a great idea to have a kaitenzushi restaurant in the mall, but I wasn’t impressed. Wife and I paid about $ 17/person and we left hungry. The price is based on how many plates you had and what color they were, just like a traditional kaitenzushi, but the prices were jacked up, so we felt like we had to really watch what we were eating. Having a water also adds to the cost, something I don’t think you need. You should just be able to order to the chefs inside the conveyor belt and save some money there. The quality of sushi wasn’t very good either. They skimp out on portions of actual fish and the spicy salmon sauce was too spicy for my taste. I really wanted to like this place as I like the concept and it’s visually compelling seeing the sushi go around on the conveyor belts, but I won’t be returning to this place. 2 stars. **

LOVE this place — Great prices and food. Missed it when I was in SF and too expensive at Fugaku. I had to give it a 4-star for a couple of reasons but if not for these — I would’ve given a 5-Star. — NO Bathrooms. — Waitstaff was not very attentative(forgot our kitchen food — never refilled our drinks and on top of that she spilled soy sauce on my friend’s pants), we also had to ask another waitperson to find her so we can get the bill and non-explanatory of how it works. I can’t wait to go back — Great experience /LOVE THE Rolls. :) :)
