I have not had one good experience with this store and I hate when I have to go into the store to get any of my jewelry serviced. They were all smiles when I first made these purchases but now avoid you when they realize you are not buying anything… I will never buy anything here again… P. S. the managers are even worse to deal with!!!

Went to this Kay Jewelers to buy my girlfriend a ring for her birthday. Thank God it wasn’t her engagement ring, or I would be twice as upset as I am now about this experience! Ordered the ring a couple weeks early of my girlfriends birthday. Was told it would be in(and sized) within a week Received a call a week later(when it was supposed to arrive) and was told that the ring was not in stock. Had to go into the store and order a different ring. Was told to call the following day and check on the order. The person taking my order(Ron who was the least help ever) would not answer my calls or return them for days. Finally went in to the store in person. He said they almost didn’t have the ring, but they found one and it would be delivered to the store by Thursday 4⁄24(my girlfriends birthday). Or possibly Friday 4⁄25. We were leaving for SC on 4⁄24 so I asked for a rush on the ring. It never came in. Went into the store Tuesday after returning home and the ring was still not there. Was told by the manager that the order said it would be delivered 5⁄1(this was written on the paperwork they had). So Ron lied to me. Finally a call came in Wednesday 4⁄29 that the ring was in. Picked up the ring had it wrapped and was finally able to give it to my girlfriend the next day 4/30, a week late of her birthday already. Well, she put on the ring and Kay NEVERSIZEDTHERINGTOHERSIZE. Drove right to the store then at 8pm and spoke with the manager. She was nice and apologized, gave me 10% off and said her store would resize it by this Saturday 5⁄2. We will see what happens when I pick up the ring this weekend. But you can be sure I will never buy from them again.

DONOT go buy engagement ring or anything from this store or any Kay, I purchase an $ 4000 engagement ring in May 2 and now is July. I still haven’t received my ring yet and my engagement party is in 4 day. I kept calling them and speak to the manager about my order status all she tell me is «we don’t even know when is going to come in, we place the order they should be here soon». It’s been 3 months and I am still waiting. Really bad service, I feel so ignoring to kept calling too; and they are not helping at all. I feel like the manager doesn’t even care about her store or customer services. I was going to purchase my husband ring there, once this happen I went over to ZALES. Got my husband ring, people over there are really friendly, and nice offer me discount when I don’t even expected. And I only waiting for 1 week for resize his ring is on his hand while I am still calling KAYs about my ring. Go to ZALES!!! KAY should either hire a new manager or train all the people who works there(ZALES or Nordstrom or even CVS have better customer service) KAY when they try to make commission they will be so nice to you(they earn a lot from selling a ring or other jewelry) but once you purchase the item, they don’t care about if you receive your item or not. I WILLNEVERGOBACKTHEREAGAIN!

I had a very horrible experience with Kay. If I’d had known I would’ve just bought a wedding band online and save myself the stress and hassle in dealing with their unprofessional employees(including the manager). Zero star is the right rating for the branch in South Shore Mall. Our wedding was held out of state and they told us it will be ready before we fly out so we bought it. They didn’t have my size so they have to send it somewhere to have it resized. My husband got his ring right then and there. Anyway, I called them the day it was supposed to be ready and they just flat out told me that they don’t have it yet. No apologies. The employee handed the phone over to the manager and the manager asked me to look at the receipt for the«promised date» that was written on there. Low and behold, the date that the employee wrote is a week after we were to fly out. I told him that was not what my husband and I agreed with the employee. I clearly told the employee 3x!!! as to what date we have to pick it up just to be sure and she said they can do it. I guess I was stupid coz I didn’t check the receipt. I think the employee knowingly put on the wrong date though she was not sure it will be ready by then-probably just to get commission. When we went there after the wedding to confront them, the employee flat out lied to us saying she didn’t promise the ring on the said date we wanted it. She blamed it on the weather blah blah blah. I was furious with the manager because he did not even want to hear our side. He just took the employees word. I should’ve known right from the start that the employee who handled us was very incapable coz she doesn’t know anything about the rings-sizes etc. She processed a refund for both rings instead of just mine so the company had to call my husband and ask him to go to the store again and straighten it out. This just shows how incapable she is of her task at hand. When my husband went back, everyone including the manager was all very nice and polite. They probably know it was their fault. I wish I can undo going to Kay’s. Oh well lesson learned. Please think a 100x before you purchase something from them. Good thing I have an eternity ring from my Mom and we just used that during the ceremony.

I gave this a 1 star for the old manager there. The new manager, Wilhelm, tries to make you feel stupid when he cannot explain himself anymore. One of his employees messed up when I was there. Instead of apologizing and fixing the problem, he said he would talk to the employee which doesn’t do me any good. I was annoyed that I had to pay for his employee’s mistake. It’s great that he stands by his employees, but when they did something wrong, you need to fix it. When asked what he can do for me due to his employee’s poor training, he said nothing and just keeps repeating his mantra that I’m wrong, etc etc etc. He was new when I went in there, so he didn’t know the relationship we had with the previous manager(can’t blame you there), but we bought our wedding bands and engagement ring there. I have stopped recommending them since. I dread going back in there to get my jewelry inspected… most of the other associates were very unprofessional too. Maybe I’ll call to see if Daniel is working and maybe I’ll have a good experience like Joe :)

Quick note on the other review — Longs and Kay are the same company! So I bought a Movado from Kay over a year ago now. They sized it for me there and I wore it home, very happy with my new watch. Within 6 months, an end cap on one of the links fell off and the band came apart. I could not find the missing piece, and went to Kay looking for some help. Perhaps they had opened that link to size it and not put it back on properly? Maybe not. Who knows? Walked up to the counter and a man inspected the watch and informed me that Movado does not warranty their bands so it will cost what it costs to fix it. Bummer. He estimated less than $ 50 and 4 – 6 weeks to get it back. It took over 3 months just for me to get a CALL. And the call was to say that they had mailed it to Movado, and it needed a whole new band which would cost more than I paid for the watch. I said forget it, send it back, I’ll come pick it up. I was livid. When I went to pick it up, I was greeted by Daniel. He found my watch and noticed that I was picking up a repair that was still broken. I filled him in on the details and he asked if I still had the extra links from when it was sized. I did. He used a piece of an extra link and had the watch fixed within 15 minutes. His concern and helpfulness made me mostly forget about the length and frustration of the whole ordeal, and kept this review from being a 1 star rant. He could have just given me the broken watch and I would have walked away. Thank you, Daniel.

The customer service is nice if you meet the right person. Monique was awesome, but she was the only person that I liked there. Overall, they charged so much more than what the same piece, same specs would cost at other jewelry stores, and the way to get simple things done is too much. 2 weeks wait to get a ring resized? just because they have to send to their home office. Of course, I returned my ring and went to the Jewelry Building were I got much better deal.

I went in here looking for an engagement ring. I was helped immediately which was nice being in my mid 20’s I often have to approach someone to get help in jewelry stores. From here I’d say it was downhill. I asked the saleswoman what they were offering for finance deals. She offered to check my credit to see what they could offer me. A week later a Kay Jewelers Credit Card arrived at my house. I was not happy, it was never mentioned that I was signing up for a credit card nor did I knowingly authorize it. I also caught the saleswoman in a lie right off the bat. She told me Kay jewelers is the only company in the area that allows you to trade any jewelry you purchase through them back in for the amount you paid towards another purchase. I had just come from Longs Jewelers, no more than a few hundred feet away in the same mall where they offer the exact same deal. I ended up going to the jewelers district in Boston which I’d highly recommend, but if you’re limited to the Braintree mall I’d go to Longs over the dishonest Kays.
