Every-time-five-star. Never once disappointed. I’d take this over Roxys any day. I’m kinda done with the whole«gourmet» thing. Traditional done amazing. Always perfectly toasted and perfect cheese ratio. My only knock would be the price. After tax, a sandwhich can be 5 bucks. If you are going to charge me 5 bucks for cheese on bread, then I should at least be getting some sort of wait service or something. I mean, that is why restaurants *used to be* more expensive because you are paying for the atmosphere. Now a days, this isn’t so and now you pay for novelty. Food without the service should be cheaper and I just don’t understand why these fast food places are getting more and more expensive. My husband and I got two sandwhich –traditional and it was 10 and change. That is Crazy. I was very disappointed with that. And that was with one of the sandwhichs being a «small»(I think that’s a new addition).

I can’t believe I’m reviewing another chain but my hankering for a grilled cheese was so strong I had to come here. I really wanted to go to Roxy’s but hubs and I didn’t feel like driving through that hot wintery mess. Cheeseboy came through, though. Not blown away but it was good enough and my hunger was satiated. The young lady who served me was very sweet and fast.

Nice cheese boy, but sometime some cashier messed up. Some time no jalapeño, no Italian bread, no Swiss cheese. Also price difference there before same order with tax single order $ 5.73 but sometime charge $ 6.20 same ingredients or less, don’t know why. So no 5 star. Please improve and fix price.

I like cheese. I like bread. I like grilled bread with melty cheese. Make your own: Multi-grain bread, American Cheese, Applewood Bacon, baby spinach, and red onions. You’ll thank me later. This place is a much better choice than the cold and chewy pizza from the food court. Don’t do it to yourself. Have a warm and crunchy grilled cheese.

Amazing! This was one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve ever had, and the mac and cheese was awesome too!

Ok so they did it… They got the 5 Stars… So if you have read my other reviews… I wasnt blown away, but It was good… Then I got the Note from Customer Service, which is always a good thing… So then I went back that night & had another one… And as we were sitting there eating I was like This is good, Its grilled cheese and I might be over analyzing this here… Its just Grilled Cheese, but it is Probably the BEST grilled cheese Ive ever ate… Yes some things can be improved, I have seen people ask for knives & they dont have them(I get theless plastic the less trash) but some people like utensils… and no plates… Im green so I get it, but I dont love seeing other people get frustrated at a place that I love! Just give them a try, you wont be sorry! They even give out stickers! Now I want grilled cheese!

This place is dependant upon your expectations. If you expect a gamechanging grilled cheese, then you’ll be sorely disappointed. If you expect a slightly different, on the go grilled cheese option, then you’ll love it. I got the cheddar on wheat with tomato soup and a drink. It was perfect. The sandwich looked like something in an ad. The pricing in total(6.79) I guess is overpriced. At the same time, soup and a sandwich at Panera is slightly more AND you don’t get a drink included. I think this place is great and wish there was one in Springfield.

This is the place where you roll back the clock to the good old days when you were five, and get grilled cheese like your mom used to make it. Except now you’re a grownup, and that boatload of glorious cheese you remember now hits you like a brick after several mouthfuls. Solid for what it is, but wouldn’t recommend indulging too frequently.

I just can’t get behind this place… Like other people have said there is nothing special about this place. Everything I tried I could make better myself for a lot less money. I’m convinced the tomato soup is just Campbell’s condensed tomato soup. And no soda refills… I worked in the restaurant industry for many years and I know what fountain soda costs. I paid an extra $ 3 for the combo meal so yes I expect a 10 cent refill. And why is my sandwich served in a little pizza box? Is that why it costs so much? Why is this place wasting so much cardboard… I didn’t even order my sandwich to go. A place with such poor customer service and no sense of environmental responsibility will not be getting any more of my business.

I’ve wanted to go to Cheeseboy since I saw ads on the T months ago, but after my meal today I won’t be going back. The sandwich was absolutely nothing special and the girl making it moved at a glacial pace. The tomato soup was Campbells at twice the price. Also, everything we ate was super salty(which, to be fair, is what grilled cheese and tomato soup is supposed to be) but the soda in the«combo» was small, filled with ice, and there are no refills so by the time I’d eaten half my meal I was thirsty. The part that bothered me most was the waste– each of our sandwiches came in a cardboard box, like a little pizza box. If they’re trying for a cozy, comfort food vibe, the cardboard takes away from that and is just frivolous. Too much trash and too much money spent on a mediocre meal I could have made at home for a fraction of the price.

I can only vouch for the Mac & Cheese, which was very good but quite overpriced. The bowl was barely larger than my fist but with a bottle of water came out to like $ 6. If you’re a Mac(& Cheese) fan, it’s worth a try. If you don’t like asian food it’s one of few other choices in the food court.
The grilled cheese. Or, as my Gramma used to sort of call it, a toastacheese. A staple of my youth and now they just bring sheer joy every time I eat one. Over the top? Sure. An exaggeration? Not in the least. I had heard of the Cheeseboy location in South Station, but never ventured over so I was happy to hear about this location. This place is tough to miss as it’s square in the middle of the food court. I ordered one with bacon and pickles & American on wheat bread. I added chips & a drink for another $ 2. Now their pricing is terrible: Italian & American is $ 2.99, but wheat & American is $ 3.79? Come on, man! Overall the sandwich was ok, but the bread is too thin and there was about a metric ton of pickles which ruined it. Trix had an italian w/cheddar and a cup of soup that she liked. While it certainly doesnt compare with Gramma’s and it never will, but because I love me some toastacheese, I’m sure I’ll try it again.

Love the new on-the-go Cheese Boy kiosk in the South Shore Plaza food court. Delicious classic grilled cheese served in a cute mini box for $ 2.99. It’s just the right amount of cheese on minimal crust toast.
