While enjoying the beautiful weather and walking along the boardwalk in Belmar the other day, I had a craving for pizza and didn’t want to settle for one of the mediocre pizza joints on Ocean Ave. Thankfully, Unilocal pointed me in the right direction and showed me this great place, just a few minutes down the road, without having to go all the way to some of my frequented pizza places in Asbury Park. Going with the advice from the reviews, I ordered a Vinny pie, to go. Oh my goodness, the pizza was delectible! Soo good! The crust was thin, well done, with the perfect amount of char, yet the crust was still nice and chewy. It had quality pieces if sausage that really elevated the taste. And my favorite parts were the little dollops of ricotta cheese and pesto sprinkled across the surface. Mmmm… Just thinking about it is making my mouth water again. Although this place is a bit far from Toms River for me to make this a regular spot, I will definitely stop by again(most likely on the way home from a trip to Asbury Park) for more delicious pizza. Just a heads up: this is a classy sit-down restaurant, so no single slices available here. You have to order a whole pizza. This is a good thing, though, because you know you are getting a freshly made pizza that hasn’t been sitting out for hours. Oh, and a bonus: there is an excellent bakery attached next door(which most likely was established first) that has a huge selection of cookies, and more impressively, biscotti. I couldn’t walk away without grabbing a box of different kinds if biscotti and a few cannoli to take home and share!

The Napoletana trail led me to Del Ponte a pizza place with a bakery front. The highlights for me were– 1. BYOB with a liquor store a few feet away 2. Great outdoor seating 3. Authentic crust, coal fired 3. Great pesto sauce pizzas 4. Decently priced pizza(a steal for folks from NYC/JC) 5. Bradley beach boardwalk nearby for a walk after gobbling a pie The pizzas I tried were great, though the ingredients could be better. The servers are young and friendly though could be more attentive. Was surprised to learn that they have been open only since 2011. Will definitely swing by on a Jersey shore(mall shopping or beach) kinda day.

My fiancé and I live in Bradley Beach. This is our go to spot for dinner several nights during the week. The pizza is always amazing and the service is always outstanding!

I have eaten here twice and both the service and the food are excellent! Great variety of salads make it hard to choose — they are definitely large enough to serve 2 or 3. This time I had the Pasquale pizza and the vegetable pie — both were delicious and had very generous toppings. My daughter loved the chicken parm panini and it came with a very nice side salad. I highly recommend Del Ponte’s!

Great fresh pizza. Salads are big enough for two. After we eat at the pizzeria we head next door for a gelato or a dessert from their bakery. It’s a nice spot on a nice night.

Great pizza and staff. Parking is a huge problem in general but I guess that is true for most places in this area. Outdoor seating is available.

Great pizza. Can get very crowded so consider that during the summer months. Best if you can snag a table on the veranda towards the back away from the late afternoon sun. The pizza is fresh and they have a lot of choices, good choices that still allow you to eat a slice by hand without spilling the toppings. Had some salads and calamari and they were both equally good.

I’ve been coming here for about a year now and swore by the pizza. Three months ago I would be giving this place five solid stars. This was probably my favorite pizza spot in NJ but the last two times I have gotten the pizza I’ve been very disappointed. They must have changed the cheese because the flavor and consistency of the cheese are not even close to being comparable. I wish this wasn’t the case but I can’t justify spending almost $ 20.00 on a large pie, now with sub-par ingredients. I am hoping this is just temporary but it doesn’t seem there has been any change over the past couple months.

Casual place with indoor/outdoor seating. Variety of panini, creative salads & pizza combo. We’ve ordered a small broccoli rabe, sausage pizza(white) and garden salad to start. I think it was the best garden salad I ever tried and portion is big to share for 2 – 3 ppl. Fresh ingredients, good olives, quality Parmesan cheese(not what you usually anticipate for garden salad) and 2 slices of baked French baguette. Pizza was amazing! Very satisfying lunch and efficient friendly service. Highly recommend!

We visited from Tennessee and wanted a legit New Jersey brick oven pizza experience… and we got it! The pizza was so good! In addition, I had the peanut butter brownie for dessert. Tip: ask them to warm it up for a few seconds. It was the best end to a great meal!

This place is awesome!!! Small(intimate) place that offers a wide variety of pizzas that are Made in a true brick oven. Also the salads are very good. We came with the kids and they enjoyed the margarita pizza. Definitely the best pizza place we have been in New Jersey

Del Pontes is not your typical pizza… From gourmet salads to their savory gourmet pizza it stands out from the rest. The anti pasta and the Milan pizza is a must, the apple walnut salad is also a great choice. If you’re in Bradley Beach and want a slice. Or two. Del Pontes is a great place to venture to.

Friendly staff, great experience, and most importantly, BYOB!!! :)(liquor store around the corner also had the nicest guy behind the counter). Appetizer: Antipasto Salad I don’t usually get antipasto salads but my bf’s mom wanted to try it and I’m glad she did. Usually these come with a vinegar and olive oil dressing which combined with the cured meats and pickled veggies get too sour tasting for me. Their version comes with a mildly sweet vinaigrette which balances this out really nicely. We ordered a two person portion which was generously heaped and fed 4, wish it came with a couple of more croutons though(only 2). I couldn’t stop eating it and it was a nice bright side to a pizza. Pizza: The Vinny The Vinny is a MUST try! It was soooo good! With sausage and ricotta and pesto. The tomato sauce was mildly sweet and not at all acidic tasting. So delicious! We all could’ve gone with one more pie but we’re completely stuffed. This pie was named after the owner’s pops who owns the bakery right next door. Cute story. It def could’ve used a little more sausage though as each slice averaged only with 1 – 3 pieces of sausage and it was $ 18 pie. :( Overall a great experience and would definitely come back to try other pizzas! Although The Vinny is def going to be a part of the meal again as well(with more sausage next time hopefully). :)

The arugula salad I ordered, while entirely too large and too expensive was delicious. The pizza though is truly special. I ordered a small margherita and it was fantastic. The crust is both crispy and chewy at the same time, with a nice char and just a hint of smokiness from the coal. I wish I lived in the area, this would be my go to pizza joint. If you live in the area consider yourself lucky to have such great pizza in your backyard.
