Great cake, decorated nicely and was as described when ordering via phone and email correspondence for a special occasion. Would not hesitate to order a cake from Matt and Dom again. Thank you guys!

This place was great! They did our wedding cake and everyone commented on how delicious and gorgeous it was. It was a bit of a leap of faith, since I was long distance and could not taste the cakes first, but Matt was so wonderful in being responsive and accommodating in all of his emails. He worked with me in creating a custom design with beautiful sugar gardenia flowers and added fresh strawberries to our cake without charging a bundle. He even let me mail him my own cake tray to his house and answered every single question I had about fondant.(I didn’t mind it a bit.) And he delivered the cake on time for free. I can’t compliment the place enough. The cake was beautiful and yummy and the service was top notch. Thank you so much, you guys!

First the full disclosure. I have not ordered a caked from Matt & Dom’s. But I have had a number of their other pastries and loved them. Originally they had a little place out on Anna Marie and I wold stop in from time to time and get cookies, cakes, pastries things like that. All were supper yummy and a real treat. I noticed a few months ago that they were gone from that location and was a bit sad. I wondered what happened but figured it wasn’t really the best location in any case. But Yesterday I was trying out the Shake Pit on Manatee, and I saw a sign next door«Matt and Dom’s custom cakes», could it be the same people? I poked my head in and it was! Turned out this was the first day they were open! Seems like they are geared more to the cake business now, but they did have a display case with a few treats as well as some cakes for valentines in the cooler. I got a macaroon and some chocolate covered pretzels, and wished them success in this new locations. The macaroon was excellent and the chocolate on the pretzels first rate. As I said at the top, I’ve never had a cake from these two, but I’m looking for an occasion to do so, because based on the macaroon and what they used to make out on Anna Marie, they have some real skill.
