I have seen this place from the road for years and always was curious about this trailer-park abutting, busy road, little local place. Finally, I had the time and opportunity to check it out. I have to say that once I accepted the fact that the place is super smokey and that’s just how it is, I liked it. It definitely draws an older generation, and I DO mean older, but they were real characters. From the old guy who sat and worked on a crossword the whole time to the elderly lady perched on a stack of pillows on her stool, you got the sense that this was a friendly watering hole for regulars where«everybody knows your name.» We were there early in the evening, I imagine the real granny types would be retired if you went much later than dinner time. The layout of the place is perfectly set up for hanging out and being social. The U shaped bar invites conversation and interest. The bartender was welcoming and friendly – and did I mention we had two drafts for $ 3.50! All in all, this place is definitely worth checking out. If you are smoke sensitive, don’t bother, but if you can tolerate it for the sake of the experience – do it! If you smoke, you certainly won’t be self-conscious about it at the Drift-In. I think, as the other reviewer Luna M says, it would be a great place to hang out with friends for an extended time. As long as finding a hook up wasn’t on your list of objectives, you’ll have a great time here with good-natured drinking cohorts.

Very many people would consider this a low-class place. It’s a combo package liquor established and small bar. In many ways it IS low class in looks and content, but while the outside may deter you(looks like a sketchy place), when you actually walk in it’s not so bad. I was surprised by how scary is wasn’t inside on my first visit. The clientele and bartenders, the times I’ve been in there, have been chatty/talky in a good natured manner. The clientele is colorful in genre and skin tone. All in all a great place/local dive bar to simply sit and convene with a friend or three and get buzzed/drunk while talking and joking over cheap drinks. The various bartenders have always taken care of my group with nicely mixed drinks and we have made sure to compensate them in kind. They also have a good/surprisingly varied jukebox music selection. Definitely prefer it over the Distillery and one night my very cute, slim, nicely dressed girlfriends and I stopped at the Drift-In first before going to the Cellar and ended wanting to go back to the DI to finish off our night because we had such a great time there for starters(mostly self-created, but it inspired the right vibe to do so). I would suggest to get some adventure in you and give it a try.
