F-11 saved the day! I was visiting Yellowstone when my old tripod broke and I needed a new one right away so I could continue photographing the wildlife. I called F-11 and explained my situation: I was renting a very large, very heavy lens that I needed the tripod to work with but the lenses I actually own don’t need anything as heavy-duty. Bruce gave me some product suggestions that would fit my temporary needs without being overkill for my day-to-day work. After a little online research, I concluded his suggestions were great ones — plus, F-11’s prices were the best I could find. I drove up to Bozeman where Bruce showed me the products and even let me take them out on the street to try out a few options. His expertise and patience made my experience with F-11 a great one. I highly recommend this camera shop!

The lost art of customer service. This past Christmas I made it a point to shop from local small businesses. F-11 apparently could have cared less if I did so or not. Making a concerted effort of driving to a downtown business and finding a parking spot is no easy task, and F-11 may want to remind their staff that it’s important to keep this in mind because there are a ton of other places folks can pick up a decent camera. I happened to get their huge newspaper insert around the holidays and decided to go in the next day and pick up a nice camera for my mother. They just don’t sell those I was told. They have a snazzy ad with a nice picture and price, but they don’t sell that model. Nor did they offer to get one in or direct me where else I could possibly find one in town. Then why do you advertise them? Secondly, I brought in my D5100 camera because something wasn’t working properly and the young lady just simply said to contact Nikon. It wasn’t her problem(understandably), but her attitude was just simply«I DON’T CARE». As a small business owner myself specializing in electronics and customer service, it just stuns me how businesses can survive with these kinds of poor service staff. I don’t have the luxury of «not caring» for my customers, they’re my lifeblood. I could have easily come in to this store and dropped several hundred bucks, but the reality was they had zero interest in my business. Sadly, my wife ended up purchasing this camera online at Amazon.

When you find yourself in Bozeman and realize your camera charger is stuck in the wall up at Big Sky… and you’re not going back anytime soon… F-11 was right around the corner from the retail shop I happened to be scoping out, and the sales girl was more than helpful finding a replacement charger for me. The store seems to have plenty of camera solutions and resources for your out of town(and local!) needs.
