I was traveling thru and stopped in for some dinner. The food was absolutely terrible. The catfish was not thoroughly cooked, and just tasted bad. Fries were soggy, like they had sat for a while. My mother was with us and she enjoyed her chicken salad. I would never stop again. I bought a pack of beef sticks at a convenient store on my way out of town. :(

We visited this Restaurant after WKUs graduation last night. The place was packed — while there were several big parties already dining, they were still able to accommodate another large group(15)…and did it well!!! The food was hot and came out fairly quickly. Our server was great– he was prompt and ate tentacle to each of us. We will definitely come back the next time we come to Bowling Green!

I always sit at the bar and get waited on quickly. Love the French Dip roast beef sandwich. Best I’ve ever had.

This is a typical chain restaurant. no surprises. It was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. It was happy hour with 3 dollar drinks and 4 dollar appetizers, for that price, these were good. We had margaritas and nachos. Both were large portions. For dinner we had Cobb salad and the Sante Fe tilapia. Both were good. The service both at the bar and at the table were good. Over all experience was a 2.5 to a 3.

We were there for lunch on Saturday. We were disappointed that the lunch specials are not available on Saturday but we all selected salads that did not disappoint. Two in our party had the California chicken salad with grilled chicken and mandarin oranges. Even the half size was very generous. I had the Black and Bleu salad with steak and bleu cheese. The steak was tender and cooked to my medium order. Service was great.

The meal was very good. Steak was cooked right and the salmon was outstanding. The happy hour $ 3. Margarita tasted like top shelf. It was great. The spinach dip feeds 2. I did not like it. Wasn’t very thick.

Had a great time. Jenny was very good to us. When a mistake was made it was fixed and we even got a free sweet potato fry upgrade. Thanks!

I used to love eating lunch here. We went back for the first time in over a year. Ordered soup and a sandwich and it took almost 45 minutes to arrive from the kitchen. Manager stopped by and said it’d be on the house. Sad part: it wasn’t worth that! Chicken sandwich had stale bread, wilted lettuce, unmelted cheese, and was cold. Fries were overcooked and greasy. I couldn’t even eat it. If you’re up for some decent rolls, go for it! If you want edible food, go anywhere else!

I used to love O’Charley’s as far as crappy chain restaurants go when I had a craving for some good mashed potatoes and a somewhat decent steak on a lazy night out in town. But I was sorely disappointed in our visit there the other night. The previous O’Charley’s I had been to had great service and good food for an American chain restaurant. Bowling Green O’Charley’s is awful. The hostess was unfriendly to say the least and barely said two audible words to us after we walked in. No greeting or anything. I’ve worked in many sections of food service and eat out a lot and I have never seen a less enthused or energetic or friendly hostess. She was bored to give her the most polite appropriate descriptor. The food was decent, but they were out of just about everything. Apparently we heard from the waiter a table over that this happens every Sunday night. I’m sorry but it should not happen to the extent that almost everything is out and the restaurant doesn’t bother to alter their orders knowing that they run out of things on the same night every week. Why would you not correct this? The waitress was not very enthusiastic and seemed like she hated her life. It wasn’t right before closing either which I would accept the«I hate my life» attitude 5 minutes before closing time. My food wasn’t bad, which was the best I could say of anything in my overall experience. My sirloin was well cooked and a decent piece of steak. The blue cheese and mushrooms on the steak added a nice flavor without being overpowering. The rest of the steak seasoning was good and the broccoli served with it was tasty. I do appreciate that restaurants are offering smaller portions for those of us who do not need a super sized American portion meal. So, it’s a place to go, but I doubt we will be going back soon. A little good and friendly service can go a long way to making a meal so much better.

Used to eat here all the time when I was a student at WKU. Now everytime I come for a visit, it’s one of the places I like to visit before I leave.

I know I spend a lot of my «yelp moments» raging against the McCorporate machine but this place is so over(under?) the top that I had to let my freak flag fly a minute more. This is the worst place I have ever been to in the entire universe. Not the worst, because they employees were friendly but too too way too friendly to be real, lots of «can I get you some more water» and«no no take y’alls time» type of thing and the manager doing a lot of «y’all didn’t feel rushed did you?» First of all outside there’s this crazy street sign with arrows pointing in all directions but instead of saying real street names they say things like«celebration» and«unexpected good times» and«friends near and far» and«cold drinks» and«onion rings.» I should have taken a picture of this because it’s a lot more irritating than it sounds. The other thing is, OK, I’m resigned myself to the fact that I’m not going to find vegan stuff on most menus even in Liberal Longhair NEw York Shitty. But to not even have a vegetarian option on the menu is kind of like, i don’t know, MEAN on a corporate level. these veggie burgers they make these days at wal mart are real easy to buy, store and make and would make people like me(jews who own the internet and media in new york liberal dream city) a little less vindictive about your performance at being a restaurant. EVERYSINGLEPLATE on the menu had meat or meat sprinkles on it: fried chicken, grilled chicken pecan strips, pecan bacon meat, slivers of almond«soy» glazed fish(so you know they’re trying to be classy but like… it probably comes out and looks like mcdonalds). or bacon. anyway i had to order a chicken salad without chicken which is one of my BIG pet peeves. did i mention places like this are EXPENSIVE? fridays bennigans ocharleys whatever with an S at the end? really expensive. a salad’s like $ 10.50 and you KNOW they not gonna take off fo dat chicken u didn’t eat. the salad i got was technically OK but it was WAYTOOBIG(like probably 4 pounds of salad) and didn’t have enough crunchies in it. the portions there, like all these places are the reason people are fat in america, and by the way if you haven’t visited the non-coastal areas of the USA, yes, people really are really fat in the middle. you should go there periodically to get out of your dream world. they also serve you bread and butter, but it’s like the worst bread ever. they call it «unsliceable» because it’s SOSOFT but really just tastes like an undercooked wad of white bread rolled into a puff and dipped in Pam and then microwaved for too long, disgusting. ok, i probably would not be here complaining if it weren’t for the really bad cocktail experience i had there that i’m afraid most of middle america is having. my mom walked in and there’s this person-sized standup ad for«cotton candy martini» which is probably like some Gordon’s with pink food coloring and then topped with a puff of cotton candy, my mom was all«ooooo that looks good!» kind of crazy since she doesn’t drink much and it was probably $ 12 and you get to keep the shaker(???). so we sat down and she looked through the big chili’s-style full-color drink menu in a fun spirit and saw a tangerine-grapefruit margarita that I’ll admit looked great in 4-color glossy(so does a stick of poop dipped in chocolate though). so we got it, and, you know what it’s like when you get a «smoothie» from like burger king or something? there’s no smoothie just chemical and sugar taste and food coloring and the ice melts quick? well this was the margarita version of that. it was TERRIBLE and way too sweet and too much ice, in a big cup but not that much actual drink in it. and then it was $ 6.29. really bad experience, really terrible, I drank it all and had that disgusiting feeling in my stomach that was how you usually feel after drinking an entire garbage can party’s worth of margarita over the course of a day. did i mention the interior decorations? well, i don’t think i will because this is getting«long in the tooth» and you can probably picture what they’re like and then get nauseous on your own time. the worst thing about this experience was coming home afterwards and watching republican talking heads on larry king live commenting on the DNC. to those of us in Jew York City and Jewifornia, and Jewstin Texas, places i really miss when I’m in the middle, these people are unfathomable, we forget about john mccain and how he makes sense and how attack ads really are scary to people, that’s why people do them. and most of all people love to make money at any cost on health or anything. like that margarita. i could see the hopes and dreams of hunter s. thomson and his america drowning at the bottom of that saccharine cup, could almost hear him screaming at me to stop drinking it, even though we were drinking it in his home state. there are a lot of great things about KY but o’charley’s is not one of them.
