Got the half rack of ribs with hot sauce, and a lemonade. The guy who helped us was polite. The lemonade was good, tasted like it was made with real lemons. I wished there was more sauce on top of the ribs, but they were fantastic. The whole shop is cute, we bought moon pies for $.69 and I marveled at their cooler full of meats and non homogenized milk.

The food was okay but was disappointed to see that our meat was heated in a microwave in a plastic bowl(sliced shoulder) and a small Styrofoam cup(pulled chicken).

BBQ — 4 stars Planning to sit and relax for 10 min to enjoy food — 0 stars We were on I-65 and needed to stop for lunch between Nashville and 2 more hours’ drive time to go. We sat at a picnic table outside, but we were overwhelmed by swarming flies to the point that the 11 year old lost his appetite after two bites of his sandwich. Waste of good food, and money spent. Takeout only — and you need plans on where to eat it if you’re not local, since the sauces are awesome but –expectedly — very messy. Then I could up the rating maybe although inside when ordering has a somewhat funky smell. Kicking myself for not reading the reviews more carefully before we stopped re lack of seating options.

Got a pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich was pretty average, but the pulled pork on it was pretty amazing. Note there is no indoor seating, just several picnic tables out side. Great quick lunch spot!

Served meat out of crockpot, baked beans NOT, out of can, brisket too dry! Needs to put in info box not an inside eatery! After traveling for hours you want a restroom and clean dining area. Very disappointed!

Some of the best BBQ I’ve had. I really enjoy the company of the owner too. Jimmy is one funny guy, and will give samples if you ask. Great place to grab lunch, and lots of pork if you need to cater to a lot of people!

They cut up their meat at the location. The ribs were so tender. The bbq sauce wasn’t bad, but I’ve had better. So I suggest to use ur own sauce.

You have got to stop here! Everything is delicious. Don’t be turned away by the fact that it is next to a storage facility. Jimmy D greeted us, gave us samples and is one of the nicest people I have ever met. This place is a carryout bar b q & market. The bar b q is amazing. The sides are all«scratch made». The banana pudding is just like my grandma’s.

Amazing bbq set in the back of a self storage business! Delicious and surprising. When you see the building, it looks like a used car lot. But there is a tasty smoke floating up from the back. I say tasty because everything is smoked on site. And it is fantastic. I got the brisket and meatloaf with mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Brisket is so well done it’s delicate, it fell apart when you picked it up with a fork. The meatloaf was more substantial, a thick brick of meat, still tender, with notes of celery shot through it. Homemade mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were also really tasty. My girlfriend got a brisket sandwich, her niece got a pulled pork sandwich. Her mother bought a Baby. A corn cake topped with bbq beans and pulled pork. Perhaps the best of everything we had. And that’s saying a lot.

We stopped here for lunch on our way from Florida to Wisconsin. We love BBQ and were not disappointed… it was awesome! We had the pulled pork on corn cakes and brisket with hot sauce. We met the owner and his grandson who showed us their smokers and gave us the history of their place(see pic). Highly recommend this place!

Yummy!!! I had the brisket and not all smokehouses do. It was great! Talk about bringing the south farther North with such southern hospitality. I was greeted with a smile and reminded of the napkins… by the owner himself. Thank goodness for the gas station next door because there are were no bathrooms that I could find. Butt… I am stuffed;))

The Best! I come to Bowling Green once a year and I can’t believe that I never tried this place before. It is a bit hidden and maybe that’s why I’ve missed it in the past. First thing I noticed was lots of old people coming in and out. I assumed that was good because they know what’s good. The brisket sandwich had multiple thick slices and it was unbelievably tender.

Excellent quick eat. You pull into the ample parking area of the quasi-hidden BBQ pit(hint: look for the smoke!) and step out to the smell of southern delight: smokey meaty goodness. Their meat is what you crave from the preformed need to stop for BBQ and the hot BBQ sauce was not that hot but very tasty. Their sides — all made from scratch — were hit and miss. Turnip greens were bland and bitter with fatty bits of bacon in them. Mac and cheese was mediocre at best but the mashed potatoes were yummy buttery with-some-potato-rind texture goodness. Fair prices if you don’t fall for the combo options and perfect ability to fill up on tasty meat for the super cheap. Warm weather perk is you get to eat outside and carry that pleasant smokiness all day. Many locals seemed to stop in to grab some of their to-go options. Huge selection of pre-packed fridge case Tupperware takeaways. Yum.

Pulled pork sandwich one of the best I have ever had. Cold slaw looked awful but tasted very good. Potato salad not very good, mac & cheese alright. We were disapointed there was no dining area, had to eat in the car. Not so good of an idea with BBQ!

We stopped in here on while trying to find a place to eat on the way from Nashville to Louisville. Caught it by accident, but it was certainly worth it. We were greeted by a very friendly man who let me sample a little of the pork with sauce. And that’s what I had for lunch: pulled pork on top of corn cakes, sauce on top of that, mac & cheese and some greens. All of it was so delicious I could hardly stand it. The pork was the show stopper, though. It was as tender as it could possibly be, and did not have a very strong smokey flavor. The greens had just that right amount of bitterness and the mac & cheese was very creamy and delicious. They are kind of hard to see if you are coming from the freeway. We saw it back-tracking. They are on the same side as the IGA market and tucked back a bit. Eat bbq!
