Salon Roe

I walked into Salon Roe around 1 pm on a Saturday afternoon. I was greeted by Rokieda and she told me that she did not have any openings for the next few hours. She told me to get her card and call her back at 3:30 pm and I would most likely be able to be seen around 4 pm and my blow out and trim would cost $ 60.
At 3:30 pm, I called and texted but did not get a response from Rokieda. Understandably, I figured she was busy with clients. At 5:10 pm she told me I could come to her shop. Around 5:30 pm, she texted me to ask me how far I was. I told her I was 15 minutes away. By 5:45 pm, as I was pulling up to the salon, she texted me again to say she was leaving around 6:00 pm or 6:15 for the day. I wondered why she would allow me to come to the shop when she only had 30 minutes to spare.
I kept my grace and walked into the salon even though I was annoyed. The first thing she told me was that she was tired and hungry and that she has a long day. She continued to repeat that as she did my hair, as if to make me feel badly about that. As she was washing my hair, she realized I needed a flat iron (which I assumed she understood from our initial conversation), and she told me the new price would now be $ 100! Because I already made two trips to the salon that day and was already there, I told her to just service me. But I could not understand how a simple blow out, flat iron, and trim would cost $ 100 for a person that does not even have shoulder length hair. I have a very short cut.
On the back of her business card, it clearly reads «15% for new clients». When I inquired about the coupon, she told me that she wasn’t anticipating that I used the coupon because it was so late. It was about 6:30 pm at this point. She told me she could give me only 10% off. The final total for my hair was still $ 100 at the time of payment.
It is so unfortunate that a person who advertises good customer service lacked that very thing. My hair came out fine, but my experience was not. I’m sure during normal working hours, she may exemplify good customer service skills. But I suppose because her day was stretched out a little longer than she anticipated, she was not concerned with properly servicing me. All about the money.

This is my first review and I am glad that it is for Rokieda! My mother and I have been going to Salon Roe for almost a month now and have NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED! We decided to visit Salon Roe after we seeing all the other great reviews here on Unilocal.As a woman with short relaxed hair, it is extremely imperative to have a great beautician that knows not only how to make your hair look good but also to promote healthy strong hair. Thankfully you get that and so much more when coming to this salon! It is ALWAYS clean, a tranquil environment and an overall wonderful experience whenever you visit and there is no stylist in comparison to Rokieda to me. She is not only someone that will completely transform your mane but she is also such a sweetheart I must admit that this salon is way more than money well spent… It’s money well invested — yeah, she’s that good.

Roe is sweet, super talented, professional and respectful of your time. I visited her salon based on Unilocal reviews and was not disappointed. I received a great cut with relaxer and color in 3 hours! That was a major joy to me b/​c my last two stylists always overbooked and regularly had me there 5 – 6 hours (sometimes with no chemical treatments) starving and ticked off. Salon Roe is a welcome change.

I have been going to salon roe for about 3 months now and I love it! I moved to the DMV area from New York almost 2 years ago and It took this long to find a hairstylist that was great and knowledgeable about hair care. Rokieda is amazing and she is passionate about what she does. I am a natural with very full hair and when she does my silk presses I look as though my hair was relaxed. She makes sure to use the proper products in my hair so that my natural curl pattern in protected. When I am ready to wash my hair it reverts right back with no problems. Rokieda also respects your time there is never a long wait and she treats all of her clients as thought they are VIP starting with the salon establishment which is located in a private suite. She is also A1 at cutting and color. I am a natural with blond healthy hair because of this lady I love her and wouldn’t change her for the world!

This lady knows hair! When I first visited I knew I needed a sharp cut and some funky yet sophisticated color. Done. Roe totally transformed my look. Her salon is sharp with nice décor and a nice vibe. Love the salon and love the hair stylist. Would highly recommend.

Rokieda is one special stylist.
She services her clients with patience; respect and caters to their every need.
My experience thus far, have nothing but been great.
She’s highly recommended; especially for those short sassy styles, hair coloring and sewn-​in tracks.

Very private and clean suite. The décor is so chic and cute and I love it because she is amazing with color and hair care. I had very bad edges and I went natural and she got not only my edges to grow back so strong but my entire hair was cut down as low as Amber Rose and now I have a full head of hair and I’ve had color from day one when she cut it completely off to now. She is amazing at what she does. Her cuts are always on point and the color. Color is so sick because she is truly an expert. My hair has never been so healthy. She uses the best products and you can purchase some from her so no running around trying to find them. Hours are amazing too. I highly recommend this salon.

My hair is awesome every time I leave Salon Roe!!! I get so many compliments from so many people because she has made me flawless. I am a hard customer to please but she has me smiling the whole time. I love that I can come in, sit down, and let her create a masterpiece whether I need color, cutting, or a weave. She can do it all. Always prompt and very clean salon.

I have been to many salons over the years and many have lacked quality, technique, or professionalism or all of the above but when I started coming to Salon Roe, the owner, Rokeida has always made me feel pampered and styled to perfection. She is a professional in the way she runs her business and in the way she treats her clients. There is nothing worse than feeling like you’ve had a bad experience in a salon but Rokeida always makes sure that you are well taken care of and also makes recommendations on how to properly care for your hair texture. As a result of my great experience here at this salon I will continue to make this my permanent guilty pleasure.
