This place is a huge waste of money. Bland food. Overpriced for the portion and taste you get. Walk in and the place is empty… no surprise there! I wouldn’t waste my money here again.

Visited on 5 July 2015(Sunday) @ 1240 with a party of six(three adults/three kids). Walked in to the restaurant and there wasn’t anyone working the host/hostess stand. Five minutes of waiting and finally someone comes over asking for how many in the party and directs us to our table. The restaurant wasn’t even 1⁄5 occupied and the unnecessary wait to get seated/acknowledged should’ve been our clue to immediately turn around and leave. We were seated in a corner booth and served salsa/chips within three minutes. We watched as patrons that arrived after us were attended to and served beverages and appetizers while we were abandoned in the corner of the restaurant. No water, no drinks, no food, no waiter/waitress and NO apologies after 15 minutes forced us to get up and leave. No one even came over to ask us why we were leaving… I guess Mi Hacienda doesn’t need the business of Bowie residents! I always try to patronize our local establishments but Mi Hacienda has been permanently crossed off my list. Thanks for keeping my hard earned money in my wallet!

Service is great and attentive: enchiladas with green sauce is my go to dish and always good. The guacamole was ok. Kinda sour and runny today. Skip the flan. But the fried cheesecake and ice cream is a must try.

We have been regulars here for years. The food is good but I’m a sucker for good service which is why we are always at this restaurant. The waiters are ALWAYS extremely polite and patient with my family. They repeatedly make us whatever we want as we like to tweak the stuff on the menu. My favorite dish is the shrimp fajita quesadilla. My husband alternates between a pork dish and seafood burrito(customized of course). :)

I have been to this restaurant numerous times, but not in recent months. Today wasn’t a good day. We ordered guacamole dip as an appetizer, which was very bland. To add insult to injury, there were 2 pcs. of thin wire in the guacamole. To his credit, the manager discounted our meal by removing the guacamole(as he should have) and took off the lesser of our 2 meals. In addition, for some reason, the service was extremely slow. I will give this restaurant one more try.

Mi Hacienda was a decent Mexican restaurant and I’ll definitely return. The chips and salsa were standard. The chicken mole enchiladas were phenomenal! It’s gonna be a challenge to try order something else than making this my standard dish at this place. The décor was typical with bright colors and the usual motifs for Mexican restaurants. Waitservice was excellent. As I said, this was a decent Mexican restaurant.

Food wasn’t as horrible as the lack of service. However it did come out promptly, though a third of the meals were wrong. So much for taking a chance on something new. Plus the couple behind us wouldn’t shut the hell up the whole meal so anybody within 50 feet had to endure a hour long convo about Jordans, Computers, Gigabytes, Art parties, and Erectile dysfunction. I hope the staff has more fun watching that soccer game then they do making money, cuz they will never see another penny of mine. Its funny because most of the reviews I saw spoke highly of the customer service here. We only went because of the wait at texas roadhouse. Thanks texas roadhouse!

I hate to be a Debbie downer, but I wish I could’ve gave this place 0 stars. I actually went here around early Fall last year b/c I wanted something different. Wanted to get something fairly inexpensive so I went for guac and chips and the shrimp enchilada. Now to the review: the chips were greasy and I didn’t really care for them. I was really looking forward to yummy guac, but it tasted like it wasn’t seasoned at all, no hint of lime, onion, salt. Unfortunately I couldn’t enjoy that. Next comes the shrimp enchilada(first time trying). Wasn’t horrible but was not to my pleasure at all, I just ate it because I didn’t want to waste money. After getting my bill, I gave my credit card and didn’t bother looking at the price b/c I figured what I ordered wouldn’t be too much. After leaving the restaurant I realized I was overcharged by $ 8, but didn’t bother going back in. Next day, I wake up with food poisoning for 2 days. Worst experience ever! I did have spaghetti later on that night at my bf’s house but he did not get sick, so I automatically figured it was the shrimp enchilada. Never eating there again, I got ripped off and got sick.

After reading the reviews, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. It seems that people either really love this place or really hate it, but not much in between. But seeing as how I was craving Mexican food and had a little extra time for lunch, and it’s right up the street from my office, I decided to take my chances. I mean, how hard is it to make a decent cheese enchilada? Well…not so fast. The chips and salsa were very good, not too hot, not too mild… just right. The server was friendly and quick. I got a combo platter that had a cheese enchilada, taco, and tamale. The taco was pretty good, the tamale was just so-so, but the enchilada was HORRIBLE. It was more onion than cheese, and the onions were raw, huge chunks, just totally inedible. What a disappointment, as that was what I was looking forward to the most! I’m sure I’ll go back and try something else at some point, but it’s going to take a while. Everything else was OK, but the bad experience with the enchilada really left a bad taste(no pun intended). So give me a little time to recover, and I’ll see if maybe that was a fluke. Fingers crossed!

Second time out at Mi Hacienda. This place is officially now off-the-charts awesome in my book. Shrimp enchilada is the SHIZ! This time I tried the Huevos con Rancheros. A-MA-ZORNG! Also, are you a flan fan? You need some, little buckaroo. This is the only Mexican food I get excited about. Thank you MH! Heart~

I was here when this place first opened up, because I worked right next door. I am a Mexican food fan, so I have been to a lot of restaurants and have eaten a lot of food. So I have had high hopes for this place. The décor was nice and people were friendly, and although the food was pretty ok, the way it looked was not very appealing. I would order something simple like fajitas and, it would look like dog food on my plate with a side of tortillas. I can deal with beans and etc, but I got a plate of baby food. Overall other than that, ok. I’d still give it 4 stars.

I’ve never before seen this type of beef in a quesadilla! It is what seemed to been have shoved in a blender with some extra grease. The huevos rancheros and rice(the rice was also crunchy and translucent… too much oil?) were similarly covered with grease! In addition, both the salsa and refried beans tasted like they were scooped out of cans and placed on the plate! Everything was surprisingly bland and oily. Our waiter didn’t even bother refilling our water… even once. On the plus side though, their guacamole was very flavorful.

This place was horrible!!! I had the taste for fish tacos. We saw all the good reviews so decided to give it a try. Very commercial, food was bland, and it left a lot to be desired. If you want authentic Mexican food this is not the place. The only good thing I can say was the place clean and the servers were nice.

Best Mexican food I’ve had In a while!!! I had a steak special(ribeye) with peppers and onions and came with a chicken enchilada(had a to die for sauce) and refried beans. My husband had a carne asada and my friend had a burrito(huge and delicious!) took one star of because our steak dinners didn’t come with rice, it was an either rice or beans scenario and the waiter didnt asked just assumed we wanted beans. No biggy the food was soo affordable we just ordered a side of rice :) Service was fast, very cordial and even gave a complimentary and very tasty fried ice cream treat for my birthday friend. Just left the place and already told 3 people about it! Thanks Unilocal reviewers for recommending this place!

Average food, charges extra for more chips and salsa. Tacos are bland but just like people without taste bids would love.

I took my son here and he loved it. The chicken for the quesadillas is very flavorful. Service was good. I like their cheese dip, they are one of the few places that use the white cheese which we are a fan of. I usually get the tamale, soft taco platter and doesn’t disapoint. They have a soup on fridays and saturdays that i really love, pork, hominy, cilantro, etc. I’m sad i moved far away from this place bc it was my go-to. The service was always good and they remember us everytime. Prices are reasonable and the menu has a little bit of everything. I’ll have to make a special trip back!

Esta muy bueno!!! Si tu quieres cosas deliciosos, vas a Mi Hacienda! I left the suburban area of my neighborhood and entered a Mexican city with music, ambiance and all the chippies I can eat! I love having a Mexican restaurant in my hood. It diversifies the area.(It also makes me really happy when I can order churros) All of the staff is well-dressed and polite. They are hardworking and you can see it in the service and taste it in the food. The secret to this place is to order chicken or steak. They have the best marinated meats ever. I think their chicken is marinated in a beer and lime marinade. It is so yummy. I also recommend their margaritas. You can taste the love. And they have lots of it! I admit, when they first opened, they were a little underwhelming, but the management team is always tweaking and improving the menu. Right now it is almost perfect! Check this joint out!
