Maybe they heard complaints on Unilocal,because I came in with my husband in workout clothes, both looking disheveled, and we were treated with courtesy. The sales associate greeted us, answered my husband’s questions, and showed him where various items were around the store. On top of that, the store is so well kept. Talk about well-organized! There are rows of starched, collared shirts in a variety of hues sitting neatly in cubbies on the wall. There is an island that features a sea of neckties in a rainbow of colors, all carefully arranged so you can see the different patterns and textures. It’s oddly satisfying to look at! I was also quite taken with their«1905» collection of clothes. Since this was my first time into this store, I don’t know whether they’ve had this line for long, but oh man. I’m fan. I’ll be begging my husband to get some of that stuff because I’m a sucker for the dapper slim-fitting vests and slightly-higher-collared shirts of yesteryear. So we’ll be back to have him try a few new looks when we’re both less… workout-y.

I walked into the Bowie Center Jos A Bank today expecting to exchange a defective pair of cufflinks. I got them eaerlier this year and a face plate became unglued and fell off. One of the associates and the assistant manager called the store manager on his cell phone. After several minutes I was told since I did not have a receipt, the best they could do is sell me a pair for 70% off. Which by the way, was the daily special. I asked the associate if I could speak with the manager since he was on the phone, and was told that the manager would not talk to me, but I could call back in the morning. I’ve been a customer of Jos A Bank for years and have always had a great experience in stores up and down the east coast. The fact that I walked in wearing; a signature gold suit, a signature gold shirt, a signature gold tie, and a pair of Johndon Murphy shoes wasn’t enought to convince them that I was a good customer. Based on the negative comments about this store, I am certain that the lackluster customer service it’s due to the poor leadership of the Store Manager. Brooks Brothers here I come!

Experience was generally pleasant. I went in early on a Sunday morning right as they opened so there was no crowd. I was waited on by the manager actually. Very helpful and polite. Staff was helpful and considerate when I returned to pick up my garments after the necessary alterations. This was on a weekday evening so there were a number of customers demanding their attention. I had a short wait, but not unacceptable, for attention. I would go again.

I have several Jos A Bank suits. Every time I come in here in my shorts, they act like the snobs that they are, and ignore me. Morons. I have a good income and can afford to shop here. I guess I have to drive the extra 10 miles to Annapolis where I can get the attention I deserve.

Terrible! My future father in law went to the store the day before us and got a card from the associate. The next day me my fiancé, future father in law and future mother in law visited the store. When we were arrived we were kind of brushed off. We found out that it was the same man that helped my future in law the day before. The associate decided that he did not want to help us, and he got smart with my fiancé twice. We were going to get 10 suits from there we will take our money to pentagon.

I have rarely encountered such obvious outright disdain for customers as I have at this location. And it was bad enough I signed up so I could leave this review. Today as I made my fourth attempt to get registered for tuxedos for my upcoming wedding, I arrived for my appointment and then sat there in the store for 20 minutes as the 4 staff made themselves as scarce as possible before finally all standing behind me at the counter arguing with each other over who would actually have to assist me. There is simply no way I could ever recommend this location to anyone.

I needed some new button downs and wanted to go to a familiar place to get them. Same store, different city right? Sadly, it was not the best experience I could have had. At this point I may buy from them again, but definitely not from here. The people really need customer service classes. Wearing a tie does not make you a professional… try being polite. «The Good» — The quality of the product is very good. They feel comfortable and I am told they look good, my biggest factor… I like the way they look too. «The Meh» — Located in the Bowie Town Center… parking will not be easy. Just be mindful. «The Bad» — The staff. Sadly, you will be hit or miss. I was waiting at the counter with a sales associate speaking with a customer behind the counter… I was waiting patiently… for a few minutes. Then the gentlemen that was helping people from across the store made eye contact and let me know that they would be right with me. OK good, I was reaching that borderline area where I was going to get grumpy. Another few mintues pass and the salesman that was behind the counter finishes his conversation with his customer and proceeds to check his phone and walk to the back room. After I started laughing and asked«Really?!» He finished his text and came back. I gave my name and let him know there were some shirts here for me, he went in the back and texted along the way. When he returned he answered the phone without even speaking with me and laid a pience of paper and pen in front of me. Since I can read minds… I knew I had to sign the paper, which I did, still trying to scrounge up a smile. While he continued his conversation on the phone I waited to see if there was anything else… I waited a little longer before I asked«Is there anything else?» He pulled the phone reciever awayfrom his face and let me know«You’re done»… Wow. I had a total of under ten words spoken to me by some punk that thinks he is management material and had a better conversation with the older gentlemen that has to work with people he has no control or influence over.

I think the staff’s attitute toward customers matters so much, and I have seen VERY mixed behavior. In some cases I’ve had really good service, on others, really bad. Still, if you count the number of good experience and bad experiences, the good still out weighs the bad. But if I had a choice, I probably would choose to go to a different Jos A Bank than this one. The quality of their merchandise is definitely worthwhile. Yes it is definitely easy to find suits for less, but you really do get what you pay for. Department store prices are pretty similar, and the quality is quite similar too.
