A very interesting gift shop, Momentum is. They have beautiful things from all over the world — all of fair to excellent quality, but you really have to examine the items before you buy, as some things didn’t warrant the listed price, IMO. I appreciate the fair trade ethics they use in procurring their items. However, they are over priced on many items. I recently went here to find a gift for a friend, some Christmas ornaments on sale, and was hoping to find some new cloth napkins myself too, preferably organic cotton ones that were dyed with natural dyes and made responsibly. I tried to bargin with them on some things I might have bought(the napkins), but the salesgirl didn’t seem interested in doing this, which is a shame when there are so many other places to shop in Boulder, online, etc. That’s just detrimental to them, I think. So, I only bought a few after-Christmas items that were on sale and nothing else. I likely won’t be coming back, despite the unique variety of items one can find here.

While I wish they had more fair trade men’s clothes, it’s a great shop. They have a nice gift card program for birthdays, and I stopped in for a kalimba(thumb piano). It was made with love and care in Kenya. They have food and housewares that support craftspeople the world over. The fair trade chocolate is always a draw too!

I always love going into Momentum. They have great products that you can feel good about purchasing because they’re Fair Trade. I love to buy gifts and holiday decorations at Momentum. You should check it out.

I really respect this store for bringing authentic global items that are helping people all over the world from your purchases. They have such a wide variety of items from trinkets, to jewelry, books, kitchen ware etc. I did a lot of holiday shopping here and my family loved it. Last time I was there I picked up some handmade bracelets from Africa and a Daily Devotional prayer book with prayers from all over the world. Even if you’re not in the mood to shop I think this is still a really cool place to look around and see the interesting things mostly made from other countries, and some handmade local crafts as well.

We were doing some local shopping in Boulder and happened upon this store for the first time. Once entered we were immediately greeted and advised that everything in the store supports Fair Trade all over the world. That is wonderful and so nice to hear of a store that really supports local artists with Fair Trade. Lots of unique jewelry, knic knacs, note pads, coasters, and little things for your home. I found a couple beautiful items that I might be back for in the near future. The people here are top notch and really love what that store stands for. This alone makes me want to support this local business. Stop in and look around for some unique treasures.

This is a really interesting store with lots of unusual gifts. Many, if not all, of the items are handmade and represent various cultures around the world. Their focus is on fair trade and eco-friendly products. I have to say I think probably the most awesome thing I saw was all the various children’s toys(I might not have a child, but I’m definitely one at heart myself.) There were really soft, beautiful stuffed animals, funny finger puppets representing all sorts of animals from around the world, and plenty of musical instruments among the books, games, blocks, etc. And since all of them were handcrafted they each had a bit of their own character which was really cool. The ladies in the shop were pretty nice, too although for the most part they left me alone to browse which I enjoyed. I hate when you walk into some stores and people are too overly attentive. It’s a little pricey in here to be sure, but you are paying for some really unique stuff.

Lots of the clothing is handmade here. Since it is also a place that embraces Fair Trade that is an extra kudos for this store. I have to admit though some of the clothes are not really my kind of style so I had to pass on buying anything but I would recommend it to anyone that I know that has tastes that match MomentuM.

I popped in here briefly when I was on Boulder recently and bought a scarf that was the most intense, gorgeous color of pink that I’d ever seen. It caught my eye as I walked by, and I had to come back to make it my own. That triggered a memory, that made me realize I buy a scarf in almost every city I visit. I thought that was kind of cool. There was a lot of other great stuff in this shop. I didn’t have very many minutes to spare, which was good. I probably would have spent way too much money here. Lots of Fair Trade stuff, things made by indigenous peoples and women in third world countries. Very unique and interesting items. Friendly staff, I hope I can come back one day to browse more leisurely.

I’m fairly certain that Momentum is the coolest shop on the planet. I’m actually bummed that I never discovered the shop while I lived in Boulder. I worked on the mall & didn’t really shop the area when I had days off, and I have all sorts of other excuses, but I really wish I’d visited this place. My husband and I dropped a lot of money here, but also got a lot of neat things as gifts and for ourselves. Keep in mind that everything in the store is fair trade certified, which means it’s all ethically sourced and something you can definitely feel good about purchasing(unlike a lot of other goods). They have beautiful bracelets and other jewelry(I got a few of the Tagua bracelets for myself & family members), home décor items, bags, paper goods, and much more. Apparently they also often get new items in stock, as one of the friendly sales clerks was telling us that a lot of locals like to shop the store once a week to see what’s new! How awesome. I wish I was still a local for shops like this… Anyway, if you’re lucky enough to be a Boulder local or a visitor, you really must check out this store. I’d give it more stars if I could…

This is a great little Fair Trade store that has a lot of unique and interesting products. They have notepads made from recycled elephant poo, earrings made out of bottle caps and door mats made out of old flip flops. Very neat, but also very expensive if you are trying to buy utilitarian items that are of some use around the house or kitchen and are not just decorative. I always go in there, hoping to buy something and support the fair trade cause, but have never actually walked out with anything. Maybe I’m just picky. But check it out and see for yourself!

I’ve never met anyone as passionate and knowledgeable as MomentuM owners Kevin and Jenny. Truly great people behind the business. And, not only does the store support Fair Trade, independent artists, etc etc, but EVERY item in the store is beautiful!

This is a very cool store. They have imports from all over the world, and they’re very unique items. I ended up leaving with a flamingo made from a pod seed from I think Africa, and a hot pad made from newspapers from the Philippines, and they were each only $ 6.99. They deal with the local artists of the different countries, and support Fair Trade and all of that. Check out the website-you can learn all about the artists. Great store to support! Also, the shopping bag they put your purchase in is so cool, buy something just for that!
