A fun quirky atmosphere and creative fun! I like to just sit and paint, but the staff was more than willing to answer my questions when I had them and offer painting tips. It’s hard not to get carried away with picking pieces out and spending all day there!

We have been to Color Me Mine many times and have always had a great experience, but the most recent in December 2015 was really disappointing. First of all, one person on the staff made the experience not very enjoyable. The person was moody, aggressive, impatient, and obnoxious. They weren’t at all right for working creatively with children. Secondly, the pieces are a bit overpriced. Last and worst, they did not handle our finished pieces properly. They lost one piece, completely destroyed another, and slightly messed up four others. For this, they only offered a credit(not a refund), which is disappointing given that this experience does not want to make us go back. Overall, Color Me Mine used to be a favorite activity, but hostile staff members and carelessness have destroyed its great character.

I wish I could give Color Me Mine no stars. Yes, you can go and paint overpriced ceramic pieces which is what they advertise, but the experience is awful. Many of the paints were low or out meaning those colors could not be used. Often the drawing paints(in squeeze bottles with fine tips) were crusted over and impossible to use. Some had pins in them to keep them from drying out, but apparently making sure that was the case for all of them was not a priority for the staff. Many of the paint brushes were dirty and had crusted on paint. This meant that one could get surprise colors on the piece when painting. The sponges were also dirty and couldn’t be used for cleaning. Perhaps it was a personality difference but I found the staff grating. They offer ‘useful’ tips at the beginning of the painting process but are apathetic after that. Towards the end of our painting session, I gave up on trying to find working colors I wanted or getting tips from the staff. I also find it obnoxious that they charge a studio fee for each person(which is more for adults, yet children often are more wasteful) in addition to paying for the piece. I’m sad that I spent well over $ 50.00 for this experience and will NEVERGOBACKAGAIN.

Great service! Had a party of 6 here and stayed about 3 hours! The staff(particularly Cat) were terrific. Tons of pieces to choose from from cups to ornaments even a chips & dip plate and menorah! Thanks again!

We have been bringing our daughter here for quite some time and have always had great experiences. We bring her in to create pieces fairly regularly and have also participated in their«kids night out» evenings. That staff has always been helpful, patient and attentive. Recommended.

I have been to Color Me Mine in Boulder a handful of times and always leave wishing I’d gone to Longmont’s version, Crackpots, instead. The prices are slightly more expensive(and when you’re paying an arm and a leg to paint pottery anyway, anything extra stings.) My biggest problem was the staff, though. The first visit, I found them overbearing and aggressive. I brought in the little girl I nanny for and I like to let her have complete control over her pottery(isn’t that the point??) The woman(the manager I believe) insisted on the paint colors she picked for her pottery and at least twice took the pottery painting upon herself to «show» how it was done. I did not appreciate this. Not all of my experiences have been that bad(we went for their Christmas party with Santa which was really cute.) I just think for the price you pay, you should leave feeling a little more satisfied.

Staff is helpful and friendly. It’s expensive, and the items which went into the kiln for me were damaged, because they were fired at too high a temperature. If you go, use their paints, and expect to pay for the experience, you will probably not be disappointed. I used my own paints in an attempt to repair a piece which had been damaged in another studio — and was therefore not completely happy.
