If anyone had the older versions of the Ordinance Survey maps for Scotland that I was looking for I knew it would be this store. They didn’t have the exact maps, but a close location map that did help me pinpoint the map numbers I would need. Plus, I found an interesting discounted tourist guide. The helpful man took time to look in unpacked boxes(they had just moved into this new store a couple of weeks ago) and on his computer records to ensure that we had uncovered all they had. In general, a very pleasant and educational experience!

What a fascinating place. Too bad more people don’t know about it, it’s kinda anonymous in its location. I was amazed with the variety of map types they have. Also, they have maps for international destinations if you’re taking a trip. Skip Barnes and Noble for those maps, go here! I noticed that they have topo maps at two scales — USGS7.5′ and another series. Great deals on old maps if you want that or are into that. Old meaning a couple decades old, not 100.

This is a pretty cool little place. I will admit that most of their inventory can be found online pretty easily, but it is still nice in the sense that it is more tailored to Boulder. They have the cool little benchmarks for the 14’ers under the counter up front and 10th Mountain Division maps. I could totally see this being a great place to bring kids to get them excited about the outdoors. Teachers would probably enjoy it too. They have those 3D maps that you can actually feel the topography and also maps of the US with the different geologic ages of the stone. Sure, I’m kind of a geek, but I thought it was a neat little place for someone with a science or outdoor bone in their body.
