Best brewery tour in Boulder! My friends and I came here to try some beer and get some swag. We were asked if we wanted to go on a free tour with some free beer at the end. The tour was great and very informative. At the very end there were lots of beer for us to try which was awesome. Didn’t get a chance to try their food but everyone raves about it. If I lived in CO I could see my hubby and I visiting here often. Everyone was warm and friendly! The beer was of course fresh and delicious. The selection of their swag was excellent! Can’t wait to come back here!

Good beer and good food. The pork chili(a special, I think) was awesome and had the perfect amount of spice to it. The grilled chicken salad was really fresh and tasty. Great stop in Boulder after a cold hike.

Indoor, winter, weekday lunch, the experience was fabulous. Great service. Great beer, good food and the music playing was just right. Couldn’t have asked for more

I really don’t like lagers, porters or stouts much. But I did the whole flight of every beer they offered. I was very impressed! I would recommend all of them, especially Hazed(and Infused) and Shake. Ummm

On the ups… Service was great, beer selection is solid, loved the vibe, the green chili soup was phenomenal and a huge portion. The downs were that it was cramped and the quesadilla special was so-so and quite soggy. We’ll be back for the beer and green chili!

Nothing really jumped out at me as being horrible but there really is nothing special about this place. Beer was ok, food was ok, wait staff was friendly and polite, building is down right ugly. Probably wouldn’t recommend this one.

Happy hour on the patio with friends on a beautiful fall afternoon — spectacular! Friendly staff, amazing selection of hand-crafted last cal brews and tasty nachos. Great place!

Just to be clear this is a review solely of the beer. I did not have any food therefore I do not have an opinion on the food. I might be slightly biased because shake is my favorite beer on the planet. But they have a collaborative beer with Cigar City that was fantastic and several of the other beers have been top notch. The service has been fantastic. It is pretty much anything I could ask for out of a local brewery

Absolutely the worst dining experience we’ve had in years. Our server belongs in a different industry. Her attitude was beyond unacceptable. If you asked her for anything, she walked away shaking her head in disgust. Not just from our table, but any table she was assigned to. We both ordered the Pub Burger. We waited 45 minutes to get our food. We watched several tables sat well after we ordered get their food(including burgers) before us. When we were finally able to flag down this horrible server, the excuse was«well done burgers take longer». Mine was ordered medium, my wife’s medium well. My food came out completely inedible. Either the burgers sat under a heat lamp for 30 minutes, or she forgot to put in our order and the kitchen can’t cook. Either way, will never patronize this place again.

We were really, really disappointed in the food and downright shocked at the terrible service. The only positive thing I can say is that it was a nice day to sit outside — although that was ruined by the chairs and shade umbrellas being in complete disrepair, tables being stained and dirty looking — and worst of all, tons of flies everywhere. Our waitress was flat out annoyed at our presence. After we had been sitting for probably 10 minutes, she walked up scowling and said ‘do you want to order?’ No hello, no my name is ____and I’ll be taking care of you today, nada. Just basically a fraction above spitting out ‘what do you want?’ She took off before we had a chance to order beers. We had to all but trip her to get her to stop and add drinks to our order. After waiting for our food(burgers) for more than 45 minutes, we flagged down the waitress to ask what was going on, as plenty of other tables who put in their orders after us had already been served. Her response was basically it’s sitting in the window, I’ll bring it when I bring it. Awesome. That’s when you know you’re in for a juicing burger, when the waitress bluntly tells you it’s been sitting under heat lamps for some time. Our burgers came out and it was sorely obvious that they were frozen, pre-cooked pattys– so I have no idea why they bother asking you what temp you want it cooked to. Both were cooked to a temperature I’d call beef abuse. Beyond well done, closer to a hockey puck than a hamburger. Neither of us could eat the burgers, they were just awful. I got about halfway through mine; my husband gave up two bites in. We will not be buying Boulder beer or patronizing them in any way again in the future. Overall a pretty terrible experience.

Very cool, laid back vibe. Beers have FLAVOR and aren’t just named cool names(blood orange saison). Had the Singletrack and it never disappoints.

Super dog friendly patio! Yay! Food was okay. I got a chicken sandwich and fries. Husband got the gyro. No complaints. It’s a great spot to grab a beer with your dog.

Oh, Boulder brewing… Home of the largest damn flight I have seen in my life. I’m not going to say no when told a 13 beer flight is offered. It was a little struggle to complete before they warmed up a bit, but they were all still good. I also enjoyed the variety of types of ale. They even snuck in a nitro. The place was busy, yet the servers were not phased by it. I had a chicken wrap that was very good. Ample in size, as well as quality. As a pint glass(hoarder) collector, I had to also grab a few of these. Glad I wasn’t driving… While the flight was delicious, it was filling and intoxicating. If you are a lover of all beer, I would definitely: –order a flight –hold onto your ass I believe this is also one of the older breweries in the area. Obviously they are doing something right.

My first encounter of Boulder Beer was just ok. I wasn’t too impressed with my bison burger since it was rather bland. I think the trick is to pay extra for the extra toppings, but I was being cheap… My second visit, I planned it so we could have lunch and then do the brewery tour. I got the fish tacos this time mainly because of the pineapple salsa. It was a bit disappointing to see that there was barely any pineapple pieces. Nonetheless, it was delicious. The fried cod was great and they stuffed each taco with plenty of fish and cabbage. My boyfriend ordered the gyro and he really enjoyed it. I had a couple bites and it indeed was delicious. However, I did find their tzatziki sauce to be rather weird. I can’t quite pin point what was wrong, but it was pretty different from the tzatziki sauce that I am used to and it was not a good different. I also got the chocolate shake porter milk shake. It was so yummy! I later found out that their chocolate shake porter is one of their most popular beer. I am not surprised, because it was delicious. You can take a little bit of the porter in the shake, which spice things up for an otherwise regular shake. We definitely enjoyed it. They offer free tours everyday at 2pm. The tour was fairly short since the facility is not very large. Boulder beer is the very first craft beer brewery in Boulder and it’s still at its original location. The facility is nothing like your big company brewery. The place is a bit crammed, but that’s what gives Boulder Beer its character. Throughout the tour, you can see how they really care about the quality of their beer! We went on a Thursday and I believe that’s the day of the end of their brewing week thus we didn’t really get to see many actions happening. The tour was very informative. I definitely learned more about beer after my visit. At the end of the tour, they bring you to a tasting room and bring pitchers, yes pitchers, for you to try! This way everyone get to try all of their regular brews! We definitely enjoyed our time there!

This place gets 5 stars for its character, service, and of course– the beer! I haven’t had the chance to try the food, but I’ve heard great things! You can take a tour of the brewery everyday at 2pm(I think-check the website!) and I’d highly recommend it. Our tour guide was funny and knowledgable. We had a great time. And at the end, they give the group free pitchers of all their beers for you to try.

Really good beer, one of the best brewery tours in Boulder(lots of samples!) but the food leaves something to be desired. Would be 3-stars but their Chocolate Shake is one of my favorite beers out there.

I really do love me some Boulder Beer. When it comes to grabbing a drink in Boulder, you’ve got a lot of options. But nothing compares to the full round of samplers at the Boulder Beer Brewery. Thankfully, my partner and I have varying tastes in beer, so we are able to suck down the samples that don’t appeal to the other’s pallet. Pair selections — like the Mojo! Oh, the Mojo! — with their pub pretzels or the like, and you’re in for one heck of a night(with obligatory post-beer bloating). The location and atmosphere are perfect for a long afternoon of day drinking or some quick night time munchies. The place can get pretty loud, so prep thy vocal chords accordingly.

I wanted to stop by a couple of breweries in Boulder on a Saturday afternoon. I knew that Boulder Beer had a free tour at 2pm, so I timed our visit to where we could enjoy a pint beforehand. I wasn’t expecting much. I find Boulder Beer’s to be ok. Bryan and I sat at the bar and while he asked for a recommendation I browsed the beer menu. What I like about visiting breweries is that you can enjoy beers that they don’t bottle. He got some«Brewer’s Choice» that was some barrel aged and it was delicious. I got a Blood-Orange Wheat that was not as good as his. There were about 25 people on our tour. I always enjoy hearing the history of breweries, and considering Boulder Beer is Colorado’s Oldest«craft» brewery there were some interesting stories to be told. The tour lasted about 40 minutes, afterwards we went into a private tasting room. There were about six pitchers of beer for us to sample on our own accord. That was pretty cool. Everybody was considerate of the group. They had Sweaty Betty, Hazed & Infused, Single Track Cooper and a few others. They also had Shake Chocolate Porter which I had never tried before. I loved this beer. While I find most of the beers here to be average, I did walk away happy with the Shake and Bryan’s Brewer’s Choice. Both would make me come back for another visit. I also enjoyed how friendly and laid back everyone was. Bonus for the free tour and samples as well. This brewery has been in this location since 1984 making for a classic Colorado craft beer stop.

I stumbled upon this place because I was looking for a microbrewery in Boulder that canned their beer. This place popped up so I rode my bike on over to check it out. I like that it’s a little bit off the beaten path, it’s got a nice patio and it’s surrounded by grass and trees. I always love when a brewery has a kitchen, I didn’t eat, but the food looked pretty good. They also have a full bar, which is somewhat rare for a brewery. This place has a very local feel, everyone in there seemed to know each other, but don’t worry tourists, you’re welcome as well. The beer is awesome, right now they have an Anniversary Beer on cask which I definitely recommend. All in all, if you’re doing some brewery hopping in Boulder, make sure you stop by Boulder’s oldest microbrewery!

Wow. We had a BLAST here. We came from out of town and spent a day driving around finding breweries, and before Boulder, we visited the Coors brewery. The Boulder Beer tour blew Coors away. It was much more up close and personal with an actual tour guide who was super friendly, engaging and knowledgeable about the beer and the brewing process. For the tour, I got a Honey Saison at the bar, which was delicious. I didn’t see it being sold in bottles to take home, but I’m regretting not buying a growler or something. It was delicious. After the tour, we had some samples of some more beers. I tried the Buffalo Gold, the Sweaty Betty, the Mojo and the Kinda Blue. The Kinda Blue, a blueberry wheat, was my favorite. Everyone at my table also really enjoyed Shake, the chocolate stout, but that one was gone before I had a chance to try it. We got some Kinda Blue and Hazed and Infused to take home with us. We didn’t have any food here but the tour and beer were both fantastic. I recommend the tour to anyone from in or out of town.

Being a recognizable name to a girl in Chicago AND being the 1st microbrewery in Colorado gave Boulder Beer Brewery a spot on our Boulder brewery list, but I’m kind of wishing it would’ve gone to Bru(or another suggested joint) instead. Here’s why: Boulder Beer Brewery doesn’t have any beer that blows your mind. Hell, they don’t even have a beer that was more than a «meh» in my book… even at the source. We also got a basket of chips and salsa to snack on with our sampler tray and it was AWFUL. The salsa was alright, I guess, but it came out with a basket of stale chips to eat it with. Not even a little stale, either… full on these-chips-have-been-sitting-here-for-months stale. I didn’t send it back because it’s just a tiny snack appetizer, but still. Pretty disappointing. Service was also just OK, and the brewery is big but nothing to really look at, from a visitor’s point of view. If I were you, I’d grab a make your own sixer at the local store and try it for yourself in the comfort of your own home before making the trek to BBB… it might save you some time and unnecessary frustration.
