Bogey’s is a solid place for regular food. Nothing super special, but I do think they’ve improved since they got a new menu. When we went for Valentines Day they had a special menu that was really yummy. Their cheesteaks aren’t terribly classic, but they are the best I’ve found in Boulder. My only complaint is that they almost always mess up my drink order so I try to only order beer. One time I ordered a captain and ginger and got a captain and coke, the last time I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea and got some kind of iced tea with vodka drink that I didn’t like at all. Overall it’s a fine place, wish it was better though. I hate going into Boulder for dinner every time we want to go out.

I hope the owner reads this, cause I’m not sure he knows this goes on. I’ve been coming here since they opened. Today I decide to go in at 9 after the super bowl for a celebration cocktail. Stone cold sober, and an hour before closing. The open sign was on. There were 15 – 20 people in the bar. As we took our seats at the bar, my husband and I were turned away, the bar tender saying ‘we’re done guys’. I told the waitress she should turn off the ‘open’ sign, she said ‘the restaurant is closed but the bar is open’ I said, ‘no he just turned us away’. As we drove away the sign was still on. Bad form. Maybe it’s just the way these guys from Boston run their business. Food has always been ‘ok’. Can’t wait for another place in town.

I had one of the cheesesteaks(the baja, or something like that). It was decent, but the bread was still a bit cold and the chipotle mayo was pretty spicy. At almost $ 10 for just the sandwich(no fries), it was a bit pricey for what it was. Service was good — server checked on us a lot.

Came here for lunch at the behest of my coworker even though several people have told me not to eat here because they all got sick on 2 or more occasions and the reviews said the same. I ordered the lucky #7, a turkey and bacon sandwich, because everyone has said the burgers and chicken have made them sick, and it was pretty good. An excessive amount of spicy yellow mustard but it was still good. One of my coworkers ordered a burger and later in the day before quitting time he was already sick from the food. While the question is still out on the food the service was pretty good and everyone was fairly nice. The place looked clean and we’ll kept. The televisions were playing news, and it wasn’t overly busy even though it was lunch time. While I didn’t get sick I still probably won’t be going back just because I dont. like eating out that much and I don’t want to risk getting sick.

Wonderful owner/staff, delicious Phillies, and sold drink selection. There’s a great neighborhood small town feel here.

Bogeys is great for breakfast and to watch whatever game you may fancy. I recommend the eggs Benedict and a Bloody Mary made by Cam.

I’ve eaten here now 4 times. The food is pretty average, but I have no complaints about the service, they have always been nice. The beer selection is pretty good, and it isn’t a bad place to take kids for ice cream. My biggest complaint is the TVs. Bogey’s doesn’t want to be a sports bar, yet they have like 6 TVs that are 14 inches. They clearly like to attract the Sunday NFL crowd, yet the TV’s suck.

I seriously doubt this place will be around in another year. Here is what the problems are: 1. Bizarre menu 2. Poor food quality. If you want good bar food, there are several much better options in Boulder. 3. High prices 4. Cheap décor, especially the chairs at the tables 5. The place could be cleaner, especially given how slow the place is 6. Wait staff needs some serious training. Do restaurant owners/managers not understand the most basic concept of how critical the wait staff is? I half expected Robert Irvine to walk through the door at any minute to do an intervention.

So if you appreciate a good steak sandwich than this Bogey’s is where you should go. I have had the Baja twice for lunch. The staff is always nice and I hear they do Indian food once a week. Nice place to catch a game and some good food.

Food is not very good but I was happy with the service. Only decent thing I have had there is the BBQ pork sandwich. Fajitas were not good. Chips and salsa looked like the bottom crumbs of a chip bag. Burger was mediocre at best.

Haven’t been back in for Breakfast but I did go in recently for lunch and it was pretty damn good — Cheesesteak was done the right way(maybe a little light on meat though), had onion rings that were amazing and chicken wings that were pretty dang tasty — I’ll definitely be back soon.(also they fixed the weird entrance: D)

This is one of the few lunch options in the Gunbarrel area. Is ok, but nothing spectacular. Food. Is ok. Not great, not horrible. Unremarkable is probably the best way to put it. Salads are my typical order and they have always been fresh. Pretty standard though — if you are looking for something interesting or unusual this is not the place. Service. Also fine. Wait staff is friendly and fairly prompt. Interestingly we usually get better service sitting out on the patio area. General — the enclosed patio area is nice and my preferred place to sit. In summer it is open air and in winter heaters and temporary(plastic?) over window areas let’s a lot of light in but keeps it warm. Has a bar area with TVs — never sat in that area but it usually has a lot of people in it during lunch. Overall it’s fine — not a first stop for lunch but ok in a pinch.

If you haven’t had the cheesesteaks… YOUAREMISSINGOUT on the most amazing one outside of Philly! To be honest everything on the menu is very good, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and a responsible price point to boot! I’m not sure why this place has gotten some bad reviews? What ever issues they had, they have ironed them out… don’t skip Bogey’s!

Three friends and I went to Bogey’s last night(8÷23÷2013). We all got sick to our stomachs in the middle of the night. The only thing we ate/drank in common was the Avery IPA. Went last week as well for lunch(8÷15÷2013), and got the cheesesteak. The roll was old and hard, and there was hardly any steak on it. That’s gross that the beer at a restaurant makes you sick. Will not be going back again… go to Café Blue next door. The entrees are similarly priced, and I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I’d have to say that the only negative thing here is that the wait-staff seem confused, busy, yet inatentive, and like the region in general, a little odd. Still, the food itself harkens to North Boston quality, which is a GOOD thing. Tried lunch 3 times now. Burger was lightly seasoned and grilled well at a medium-well-to-well quality. Had bacon, red-pepper, provolone. Fries are a nightmare though. Get the local-produced Boulder chips(crisps for Britanians). Meatball sandwhich is top-notch, though ask for more«marinara» on the side. Italian sandwhich with cappicolla is very good too. For lunch, food is above average. A– Fries are very bad. Skip them. Wait staff is friendly-fake and inatentive of beverages and keep pushing booze at 11am, which is odd. Who drinks before noon except the unemployed?

I’m with the other reviewers, mostly. As an old Gunbarrel hand, anything would seem to be an upgrade from Serranos, the former occupant of the space. But Bogeys doesn’t raise the bar much. The food is weak, bottom line. Too many items prepared indifferently. On the plus side, the bar is pretty nice, not a bad place to watch a game, and the outdoor patio is attractive. But overall, a wasted opportunity — there’s a meaningful population in the area that would have welcomed a decent replacement for the regrettable Serranos. No dice here.

My husband and I tried this place twice since it changed hands. Serrano’s was OK; nothing to write home about, but not awful, and the atmosphere seemed hoppin’ with the Gunbarrel locals. Try as I might, I can’t think of anything to rave about at Bogey’s. Mediocre everything; décor, service, and especially the food. It’s so ordinary I told my husband we might as well stay home and I’d cook — and I don’t cook.

This place is gross. I’ve been there twice, once when they first opened, and again a few months later hoping they worked out the kinks. Unfortunately it hadn’t gotten any better. The food is sub-par pub food disguised in description and price as mid-level dining food. Menu is all over the place, drinks are over priced, and staff not all that friendly. Although Serrano’s wasn’t the greatest, Serrano’s was consistent, cheap, had a great staff, a more relaxed atmosphere that actually matched the caliber of food, and was generally a fun local joint to hang out at, especially on taco tuesdays on the patio… Oh well. Sooner or later a decent casual place will open up in Gunbarrel, but Bogey’s it is not.

After several months we gave this place another chance. The staff was still only vaguely interested in us being there at all. We got seated immediately but didn’t talk to any other staff for fully ten minutes. When we flagged down a passing waitress she said she’d get someone for us and turned to walk away. The person I was with asked her if we could at least get some water, she rolled her eyes at us and said«I said I’ll get you someone.» The food is all right, nothing to write home about but better than our first raw-onions-and-dirty-plate experience. And overall this place is way expensive. The sandwiches aren’t quite as good as the deli, the service is just as slow, and the prices are still about the same as or higher than Blue. Seriously not worth it.
