Julio’s is THE best Mexican place around! Their guacamole is so fresh and natural! Really friendly staff and it’s always packed on Friday nights — I think that speaks loudly!

Absolutely one of the BEST Taco Salads I have ever had. These guys are the most authentic mexican food. You have to try it. Awesome service too!!!

Such a great little Mexican restaurant. They don’t have a huge menu, but that’s in their favor. They concentrate on a few dishes and do them really, really well. I highly reccommend this place.

Meh. My salad was not so flavourful, my son says ‘that was the worst burrito I’ve had in my life’ but my wife loved her tacos and my son did actually eat his burrito, so it couldn’t have been that bad. Yikes. But it is busy and obviously popular and the atmosphere is nice. The prices are good, too.

This place was unexpectedly good. Really flavorful food, great prices, friendly service. It’s out of the way, so fewer people may find this place, but it is a gem.

We still come to Julio’s every week and NEVER get tired of it! They truly have the BEST Mexican food around! Their staff is attentive, warm & friendly, remember us and our orders, and are always very sweet to us! The steak tacos are my personal favorite and my husband loves the chicken burrito! Their food is always so fresh and delicious! Truly my favorite spot!

Wow! My chicken quesadilla was perfection. Living in Southern California I tend to take Mexican food for granted and find the out of state Mexican food sub par most of the time. Not the case! The chips were fresh, the salsa very tasty and not too hot. My husbands tacos were yummy the only disappointment was that they came without cheese. Next time we will order cheese :) This place is off the beaten path but don’t be put off by the out of way location, the food is great!

Came out for dinner on a Friday night. Amazing food!!! I don’t know if it is because I hadn’t expected my meal to be so good or if it was just so good. Would definitely be back. My boyfriend had the carne asada and as a man he said he filled him up and Was so juicy. I had the carnitas and everything was so delicious. Seemed to be run by family members and was packed in such a small hidden location. Will be back again!

Haven’t been here in a few years but I did like the carne asada tacos before. Family was in the mood for Mexican and so we drove into Bothell to try it again. They remodeled a bit adding a bar and opened up the back for more seating. Still a very gaudy décor with yellow stucco like walls, but we are there for the food so whatever. Place was busy and we got a table in a few minutes. Carne asada plate was very good. So were the enchiladas. Salsa is nice and spicy. Definitely better than most Mexican places and I would recommend.

Wow. I just went here on a whim and chose this place in particular because it had the best reviews in downtown Bothell(pretty much the only place in Bothell with great reviews). At the recommendation of another Unilocaler, I got the carne asada. Just as an FYI, this was a to-go order, so I won’t comment on service except to say the woman who took my order was very nice and friendly. Let me just say, I almost never order this dish anywhere, since most places screw it up. Even the nice Mexican restaurants. It’s either too tough, too dry, or too flavorless(or worst case, all of the above). I almost didn’t want to order it because of so many bad experiences. I’m gald I did. This fell into none of those pit falls. It was perfect. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful. I could’ve eaten it completely by itself. Downright fantastic. The other stuff it came with was corn tortillas(flour was an option), guac, sour cream, rice, black beans(pinto was an option), pico, chips, and salsa. I did not eat the sour cream, as I’m not a fan in general. The rest ranged from good enough to delicious(except the salsa). The rice was pretty bland, but soaked up other flavors to take care of that. The beans were the same way. I wouldn’t eat them on their own, but they go really well when combined with everything else. The guac was delicious. Easily in my top 3 favorite guac recipes. As was the pico. It was a borderline salsa on its own since it was so watery. Unlike most I’ve had though, this one included a lot more greens in it than usual, which kind of replaced the role of having lettuce on a taco. It was very nice and complimented everything well. The tortilla and chips seemed homemade. Both were good, but the chips really stood out. I wish I had more guac to go with them. Even on their own though, they had a lot of flavor, which was assisted by the salt on them. I’m a big fan of putting extra salt on tortilla chips, so having that extra salt built onto them was great for me. They weren’t too salty though, so don’t be deterred by that. The only thing I outright did not enjoy at all was the salsa. It was waaaay too tangy and overpowered every other flavor it came in contact with. It completely cleansed my pallet whenever I tried it, which I didn’t care for because the flavors of the carne asada were not something you wanted washed away. Try the salsa for yourself, but personally, I recommend avoiding it. I will definitely be back. This place is now officially a contender for my favorite Mexican restaurant. If the other dishes are as good as their carne asada, there won’t even be a contest.

Ate here last night for the first time. I had heard good things and I was excited to try the Chilaquiles. It was not super busy and we were seated right away. The chips they bring you are fresh and hot, and the salsa is super flavorful. It is not spicy at all. In fact, none of the food we had was that spicy. But that was actually great, because the FLAVOR. Oh my gosh. This may be the best mexican food I’ve ever had. I had the Chilaquiles, and my husband had pork belly with pineapple salsa. We had a little mix-up as the servers were changing shifts and it took a bit to get our order taken, so the server(Was it Julio?) offered to comp our meal. Totally not necessary but above and beyond. I will definitely be back OVER and OVER. So good.

It’s been difficult to find good Mexican food in Seattle, but I would say this is pretty decent. They offer pretty dishes that were prepared with quality and fresh ingredients. They have limited seating and get full easily, so recommend calling ahead or going before any major rush hours. The only dish that I was not a fan of was the coconut shrimp which was too sweet(almost candy like) and not spicy even though it has habenero sauce on it. I recommend the the camerones del diablo and the carne asada.

Julio is a master when it comes to perfectly cooking meats! Really juicy and never overcooked. This place deserves more than 5 stars, the Carnitas plate is among one of the best dishes I’ve personally ever eaten in Washington State — and quite possibly the best Carnitas I’ve ever had period. As most other reviews say — Julio’s is nothing like the mediocre chain Mexican places in Washington(you probably know who I’m talking about). Fresh, authentic, delicious and affordable!

¡Ay, caramba! My friend Phil said we should try this place — I looked it up on Unilocal and just about veto’d it with the wide swath of 1star and 5star reviews. All over the map. I was suspicious of the 5star reviewers, but a few were obviously well seasoned Unilocalers, and that swung the vote to try it. Arriving in the very busy parking lot(and downtown Bothell is a mess already) I was lucky enough to get a spot, walking in, we were warmly greeted table for 2, it was 11:45 on a friday and only 2 other tables occupied. Delightfully decorated, bright colors, large flatscreens on the wall, about 15+ tables(with a couple big enough for 8), water/chips/yummy salsa came right away. We ordered off the lunch menu(about $ 7 – 8 each), Phil got the enchiladas, I did the chiki chimichanga. Phil got to choose black/refried beans and red/green sauce. WOW. This chimi was unlike any I’d ever had. Not a flour tortilla nor deep fried, this was, to illustrate, more like a hot pocket. Wonderful flaky tender crust with yummy filling. Perfectly seasoned. Refried beans/sour cream/quac/and their signature ‘white rice’(oh my, that rice was scrumptious). I asked for some hot sauce, the waitress promptly brought out a big bottle of ‘house sauce’(not tapatio), it was perfect. I devoured every speck, as did Phil. Water topped off Servers swarmed(meals came out fast) Clean Bright Fun Great food Low Prices(after generous tip we were around $ 20) Reuseable service ware(green) By the time we left, the place was full, with a short line. Cant wait to try Julio’s again.

Generally, bad chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant is definitely a red flag for me — which has been the case for the last mexican restaurant my husband and I went to. We decided to give this place a try and it didn’t disappoint. Chips and salsa tasted freshly made in-house. Also, they do not charge for chips and salsa. The folks working here were great, although the downside was that the wait for the food to come out was unreasonably long. We were starving when we came here. I ordered the carne asada(recommended by Unilocal reviewers) and it took about 30 minutes before it was ready. The thought of deducting another star crossed my mind for that reason, but hey, at least we had chips and salsa to keep us busy. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt since I don’t recall any other Unilocal reviews regarding long wait times. Perhaps they were short staffed? Carne asada was good and prices were reasonable. Overall, my husband and I had a good time here — we will make another trip here soon!

I did not finish my food. Simple reason it was too bad. It looks great at first then when you eat it … Just should not serve it to anyone else. Do not order coconut shrimp taco…

Came here for lunch at the recommendation of a few people I know, INSISTING that it’s better than Pasion Tequila. How the heck do people say this is one of the best places around for Mexican food? The service was crap, the rice is plain white rice, the refried beans are flavorless and uninspiring, and my entrée of chicken flautas was just«Alright». Beyond that, when I arrived, the table next to me was messy with dishes from whoever ate there before I arrived. By the time I left 45 minutes later, the table was still a mess and littered with dirty dishes. Do yourself a favor and just go to Pasion Tequila about a mile away on Bothell-Everett highway. Incredible food, and the drinks are stiff.
