While the unit and amenities were okay. The management at this property is the ABSOLUTE WORST! Totally unhelpful, rude and lazy. Beware that they will give you a hard time over the most ridiculous of issues. If there is an issue with noise or otherwise you will be told that you are not allowed to talk to your neighbor about it. There is no such thing as an after 10 PM noise rule. If your neighbor can even hear your music or TV in the slightest, the management will tell you and log a complaint. Get 3 in 10 days and get evicted. They say that they are pet friendly but they are definitely not. If your dog barks at all you will get a ‘black mark’. For example someone knocks at the door, dog naturally barks. = Complaint.
Winter = no shoveling, no ice salt, no plowing. So parking lots become an ice rink and almost impossible to drive. How is this for idiotic: Every so often they power wash the landings (no they do not move your door mat, so sorry it just gets soaked.) So last winter they power wash my landings. Naturally the water freezes. So the landings are now coated in ice. Dangerous as heck to go up and down the stairs. Say something to management and they do nothing. I had to go to home depot and get my own salt. I even had to salt the sidewalk in front of my building because they never did.
Terrible security. Cars constantly getting broken into. One night my car and 8 others were broken into. Mention it to management and they had NO CLUE it had even happened. Police told me that there had been multiple break ins over the last few months.
One last thing: they raised the rent $ 250 (22%) and said it was company policy to raise rents at renewal to match current market conditions. Even though the unit under me was vacant for 6 months.
Will never ever live in or recommend an Archstone property ever again.

We’ve lived at several Archstone properties (two in Bothell) and we’ve had good experiences at all of them, though this one’s had drawbacks.
First, moving in was a mixed bag. We hit horrible traffic driving up from CA (15 hour drive) and ended up not getting to the apartments until forty-​five minutes after they closed. They were SO nice and stayed late, let us in, went through our move-​in process and let us get into the apartment. They didn’t do the move in inspection, though, because we got in so late. As a result, we didn’t get to show them that the apartment was dirty when we moved in. The oven, toilet and carpets were dirty, but I cleaned up immediately so we didn’t load our stuff into a dirty place.
Since then, they’ve been what you expect from an apartment complex. They answer questions, take rent, fix maintenance issues, etc. We did have a flooding issue that took them awhile to make right, but otherwise, we’ve had no reason to dislike them.
When it came time to renew our lease, they even let us negotiate our price (we did threaten to leave, though) which was really helpful, as moving can get expensive!
They have a really nice indoor pool, two gyms (one is dinky, but useful) and they are within walking distance of downtown Woodinville. I think it’s a good place to live.
I’ll be honest and say that the fourth star is for the corporation, if not this individual property.
To address the vandalism/​break-​in comments, I haven’t heard of that happening in awhile. It happened frequently for the first six months we were here (late 2009/​early 2010), but it wasn’t just here. I was hearing about the same issues all over the area, and the people committing the crimes have since been caught, I think? I haven’t heard anymore about it, and my car has never been hit. Then again, I never leave anything expensive in the car (I heard people bitching that they left their wallets ON THE PASSENGER SEAT and they were shocked someone broke in? Have some brains, people.) so my car is never when crap like this happens around me.

The biggest problem by far is the amount of vandalism and break-​ins on vehicles. On March 29^th at approximately 3am, nine cars had their windows broken and items stolen from their vehicles. About 6 months ago this same thing happened with multiple vehicles being burglarized. Management has done nothing at all. Adding a few new lights (or fixing the existing lights) or even fake security cameras might help deter future break-​ins but all they care about is getting your rent payment.
The guy who parks next to me is Indian and he had someone burn a swastika into the hood of his brand new vehicle. So if you like racists mixed with criminals this place is for you.
I have lived in many apartments but this is by far the worst. I have had numerous calls for service including everything from broken washing machine, the dryer didn t dry clothes, water dripping from ceiling, broken bathroom fan, and a stain on the carpet when I moved in.
In addition I was promised a better parking spot when I moved in as soon as one became available. When a spot opened up I was told they do not switch parking spots after you sign your lease. So they lied to me to get me to sign a year lease.
The neighbors upstairs are the worst ever. They throw a ball around for their dog for about 5 hours a day. Every time the ball bounces we hear it loud and clear. Management has done nothing regarding this issue and the neighbors upstairs are rude when I have asked if they could hold it down a little bit.
Move out fees for cleaning a 10′ x 10′ square of carpet were $ 129. It was in the same shoddy shape as when I moved in if not better.
If you are considering living here please re-​think your options there are many places nearby that are not the ghettos of apartment complexes known as Archstone/​Canyon Creek. If I could give this place a zero rating I would.

My fiancé and I lived there for only 2 months. First, I had to pay more deposits than would be reasonable. We paid a $ 300 non refundable move in deposit, $ 300 non refundable pet deposit, a $ 100 so called refundable deposit, plus the charges to apply. After this the rent is expensive (we paid over $ 1200 for a 1 bedroom) and you do not even get all of the amenities you are promised. After we moved out we were suprised to find out we owed $ 309.00 in carpet cleaning. It is just hard to believe it costs that much to clean the carpet. They seem to try and find any way to rip you off.

Renters beware — Archstone is the worst renting experience I’ve had. Where to start… Archstone pitched themselves as pet friend, but failed to mention the additional deposits and monthly fees associated with pets until *right* before we were signing the papers. Theater was also pitched as «included» come to find out you have to write a $ 75.00 check for them to «hold» every time you want to use it. Not worth it. When we gave them notice, they told us that the unit would be renovated right after we moved out and they would not charge us for the last 3 weeks of our 12 mo lease. Not only did they charge us for those three weeks, they claimed no renovations were taking place, and couldn’t seem to figure out who had told us the unit would be renovated. My car was broken into while living here (happens VERY often I’m told.) Management could have CARED LESS, and in spite of the fact that 4 other cars were broken in on the same night as mine, made no attempt to increase security or discourage prowlers. After our 12 mo. lease was up, we needed to stay one additional month due to the closing time line on our new home. Management said «sure» but offered us a rental rate that was nearly double what our 12 mo lease rate was. We said «no thanks» and got the heck out of dodge.

My fiancé lived here for a year and I lived with him for four months in that apartment.
There were many things that were good about the place:
–grounds and buildings were well-​maintained
–apartments were clean and in good condition
–the recreational facilities were extensive and well-​maintained
–appliance repair was done the same day a problem was reported
There were some things that were so-​so:
–mailboxes were far away
–parking was sometimes hard to find
–a bit pricey for the area
–not enough dumpster and recycling container capacity
But the reason they’ve only gotten two stars from me… the office staff was INCREDIBLY rude to us the first and only interaction I ever had with them. We arrived to pay the rent ten minutes before the office was supposed to close, on the last day to pay the rent (I think that was the third or fourth of the month). The office worker told us that they were closed and that we could come back tomorrow… well, we’d just fought through forty minutes of traffic to get there AND we could both see by the clock in her office that she was NOT supposed to already be closed.
She told us we could pay now if we wanted, including the $ 150 late fee, because it was due before the office closed and the office was closed. We insisted that she look at the clock and finally she said, «I GUESS I’ll do you a FAVOR THIS time» in the grumpiest tone possible.
I’m sorry… that is NOT how business should be conducted. You stay open until the time you say you close; you don’t close 15 minutes early so you can collect late fees from tenants. And she was SO nasty to us, even though I was completely polite to her.
They have «Welcome Home» banners all over the place… if I got that kind of snarly welcome at my house, I’d move out.
