The food and atmosphere were great We enjoyed ourselves sitting at the bar drinking Margaritas and eating appetizers. Walter our bartender was fantastic. Very friendly and attentive. He made us feel vey welcome and at home. We will definitely return because of him.

We came here for dinner one night with a group of 8 to celebrate a birthday. We originally were going to go to another nearby Mexican place, but were hindered by a lack of reservation availability. We feel lucky we did! Not only was this place delicious, but it was much less expensive. Now, let’s be clear, this is still located in a touristy area and has higher-than-average prices for what you would expect from a Mexican place. However, in general I found the prices to be fair and the portions to be large. The food isn’t exactly authentic(remember — tourist area!) but it was the exact right combo of cheesy and salty to prep us for a night of dancing and drinking. Lots of food was eaten, including apps of wings and queso dip. Everyone enjoyed, I specifically loved my mixed grill fajitas(the shrimp were not overcooked!) and the multiple pineapple margaritas I drank. Staff was funny, timely, and got our complicated orders right, great work!

Attempted to dine at this restaurant. Made a reservation through Open Table. Arrived at the restaurant right before our time and the restaurant said they are too busy to honor our reservation. What is the point of a reservation if you cannot honor it. Spent our money at another Fanueil Hall restaurant. I would not return or try it again. Sorry, you had your chance.

My absolute favorite place for Tex Mex. Located in the basement of one of the Faneuil Hall strips, it is tiny but cute. Cold pitchers of margaritas for cheap prices, amazingly delicious chimichangas, even just the chips and salsa is incredible. I have not had a dish I haven’t liked there, and I’ve tried almost everything on the menu. Staff are friendly but super busy, and it can get loud on a weekend night.

Service was very fast. Large spicy dinner portions. Go here and order the margarita pitchers.

Hands down the best queso I’ve had in the northeast. Didn’t dine in so can’t comment on the margaritas or atmosphere, but our to-go order was delicious(chicken fajitas and mixed combo). Will definitely be back.

I liked the atmosphere in here. It was kind of dark but comfortable. I got a burrito with chicken and my boyfriend got enchiladas and a margarita. He said both were very good and I liked mine too. The prices were extremely fair-$ 34 for both dinners, and app of guacamole, one margarita. The service was really good too. My only complaint is that the chips they give you when you sit down were really oily but other than that, it was great. We will definitely be back.

I have been to Zumas Tex Mex Grill a few times and have enjoyed each visit. Unfortunately, although there is a hefty selection, I have never been blown away by their food. Their drink assortment is broad and well-priced. It is a phenomenal place to start your Friday or Saturday night if you are on a budget and would like to be in the Faneuil Hall area.

Zumas is located in the heart of Quincy Market making the location pretty ideal if you’re in Boston and doing the tourist thing. The atmosphere of the bar is very pleasant. The lighting is dimmed, the tables are placed far enough away from other tables giving customers space and intimacy if needed. The food is average. The black bean burrito was a bit oily and overpowered by the onions in it. The margaritas are extremely low-priced and very good! There aren’t many beers on tap. The chips and salsa are complimentary. The three cheese quesadilla is very good and definitely recommended. The price is definitely right for this restaurant. It’s not the best Mexican in Boston but it’s a good deal, especially if you’re a college student.

Came here for dinner one night and wasn’t a big fan. It’s in the basement in Faneuil Hall and it’s an interesting set up. I sat at the bar and the bartender was a nice, friendly guy. They don’t have many beers on tap, but I’m assuming they have decent margaritas. I’ve eaten a lot of Tex Mex restaurants, but this one just wasn’t up to par. I did order the jalapeño cheese firecracker and that thing was really good. It came with this ranchero sauce, which made it taste even better. The cheese was gooey inside the jalapeño, and it all blended well. However, I ordered the veggie burrito and was underwhelmed with it. It’s not hard to mess up a veggie burrito, but this one was pretty bland. The rice and beans had no taste/flavor, and the veggies were just there. I put a lot of hot sauce to give it some flavor and got jalapenos on the side too.

Haven’t been in many years but my brother wanted to go. The food is as bad as ever. If this were not a «Tex-Mex»(it isn’t) café at Faneuil Hall, it would not be in business. We ordered cheese nachos with nothing on them for my son. They came covered in sour cream and salsa. The waitress then argued that«that’s how they come» before finally taking them back. My wife and daughter each had beef dishes. Both inedible as the beef was gamey. Not sure if it was the seasoning or the meat but neither ate their meal an after the trouble getting the nachos fixed didn’t want to bother. I had a vegetarian platter that was horrible. The cheese«enchilada» was an over-grilled quesadilla with some red sauce on it. The bean burrito tasted like barbeque and thyme. The«taco» was lettuce and tomato on a cold tortilla. All inedible. This is not Tex-Mex(I lived in Texas) nor is it Mexican, nor is it worth wasting time or money on.

Not reviewing the food, just my delicious house margarita. Go grab drinks there and enjoy the drank!

The look of this restaurant is authentic but this is indoor and one floor down. Chips are not warm enough but salsa is really delicious made of crush tomatoes. Service was good. Had it been outdoor it would have been perfect as this place is full of restaurants. One dish I loved it was chicken on firewood after dipping in gold tequila. It comes with rice and mango cut into very small pieces. The drawback is that this restaurant does not have any salmon dish. Overall this restaurant is good and one of the good restaurants!

Well I was a little scared to come here because of all the terrible reviews but they were all so wrong! The service was really great, we got free chips and salsa the salsa was amazing and the chips were crunchy and perfect! I would recommend to order the small size of guac and the queso dip for your free chips! Then we got to our drinks my friends ordered the corona and another one of my friends and I got the Zuma margarita! 5 $ for a margarita which was by the way AMAZING, not super sweet like other places, it was PERFECT and the price does not let you down! you can even get a pitcher for $ 20. I ordered the chicken quesadilla with sliced avocados which was delicious my friend got the tacos and they said those were great too! Definitly would go back for those margaritas and good food! My one complaint which is why they lost a star was the bathroom was dirty! since there is only 1 bathroom they probably have to go check more often because it was super disorganized papers everywhere!

Warning: Fried jalapeño is a WHOLE thing, seeds and all. I’m not even sure how they got the cheese in. Delicious, but surprising. We also had the fried mac n cheese and I had a margarita. these are a few of my favorite things… anyway, both were good, but great for the price. Cheap place to go out downtown.

Food here is just standard tex-mex, not the best in Boston(though I do recommend the quesadilla and add avocado, the use whole fresh slices, definitely the best deal on the menu) and the service is pretty horrible. We waited so long for our waiter to come bring waters or even give us the check(way too long in my opinion) but they get the 4 stars due to the AMAZINGLYAFFORDABLEMARGARITAS! Standard pitcher is only $ 20 and it is several glasses worth of drinks. Mijas across the way charges almost $ 15 for just a margarita, this is def the best spot for cheap drinks in the area. Good for large groups as well.

Food was average of a tex mex place. Queso was a little bland. Chips and salsa was good. Prices were a little high(c’mon $ 0.50 for sour cream… you’re a tex mex place… it should come with everything!). The waitstaff was really nice. We were the only people in the place and they said it was busier when the weather is nicer. Overall not bad. We would return if we live in the area.

Very average Mexican food near Quincy Market. The complementary chips and salsa at the beginning of the meal were good, and the chips came out warm. Our waiter was attentive and refilled our drinks when necessary, so I have nothing to complain about in terms of the service. The food was very average. I got the portobello mushroom fajitas, which came with peppers and onion that were grilled nicely but lacked any real taste. The rice and beans that came with the meal were similarly tasteless. Not sure if the restaurant has desserts on the menu but we were not offered any, so we went over to Quincy Market to satisfy our sweet tooth!

Okay Tex Mex place. $ 4 margaritas and half off appetizers for happy hour! Chips and salsa for everyone and they refill with no questions asked! Tacos weren’t bad for the price and cheap. Later dip was good but I feel that you can skip on it if you order other things like nachos or a quesadilla cause it has everything else on it. I think what really sucks though are that the chips can be a bit oily and stale for sitting all day leading them to easily break off with dip or with nachos… Service was so so when I went but definitely would come back for some apps!

I’ve been here a few times. We’ve gotten the same waiter, and he’s been great with ten people or with three. The fajita salad was delicious and filling. It was enough food for five people. The guacamole isn’t chunky. It looks premixed. It tasted fine though. The chips are warm and crispy and melt in your mouth. And they don’t charge you for refills, unlike Fajitas and Ritas. Spend the extra dollar and get something besides their watered down house margarita. The women’s bathroom is only for one person. Men get a stall and a urinal. I’d love to go back and sit in the bar area.
