Came here on a Friday night as a tag along guest for a law school mixer. Good drinks, good venue(though I was surprised the Sox game wasn’t on), and AWESOME nachos. Three girlfriends and I ordered the chicken nachos and finished them in about 5 minutes, the answer to our prayers. Have to shout an extra thank you to the hostess downstairs at Rattlesnake for letting me charge my dead BlackBerry at her stand; it was such a long-shot, but so appreciated!

I was not expecting the food to be this good. Try the nachos, all the salads, tacos, and Margaritas! They also have a nice roof deck.

My friend recently had a private party/fundraiser here and everything was perfect! We arrived about a half hour early to help set up and there was a nice big table for all the raffle prizes and donation buckets. The staff were super friendly and helpful and let us take over the sound with an ipod and awesome playlist. Bartenders made great drinks(delicious margaritas!) and the drinks themselves were pretty wallet friendly($ 7 – 8)…from a Manhattanite’s perspective anyways! The space has a great view of Boylston and plenty of chairs and tables along with barstools to keep everyone happy. The food(from chef Brian Poe at the Rattlesnake downstairs) was absolutely delicious — flavorful nachos, out of this world cornbread etc etc. I left a happy camper and would definitely recommend this place for private functions.

Visited on a busy Friday night and was seated on the roof deck immediately. Surprisingly, the menu is very inexpensive for the Back Bay. Think bar food gone yuppie. The grilled cheese,(with brie, gorgonzola and American cheeses) paired with a delicious sweet potato soup really hit the spot. Wait staff were friendly, prompt, and kept the(generously liquored) cocktails coming. I hate it when there is too much«T» and not enough«G» in my G&T. This was not a problem here. The mixed crowd of young professionals, Back-Bay sophisticates and Baby Boomers all enjoyed the merriment of eating and drinking under the stars. I’ll gladly return.

Scallop tacos!!! Scallop tacos!!! Three tacos filled with juicy bites of scallop, fried swiss chard and spicy pickled peppers. Generous and delicious. Scallops were large and cut into pieces and only $ 12. I’d like to go back and try the venison or duck tacos. Lunch on the roof is a great option in this area. Waiter was cute but inattentive(until it was time to drop the check).

so this place has changed for the better… «poe» took over and really turned the food up a few notches. the service was great, waitress SASHA. i rarely remember names or comment on particular servers, but she is worth mentioning. so VENOM is the roof deck to RATTLESNAKE. i dont like the lower level, it just lacks ambiance. i think if they gave the lower rattlesnake a bit of a makeover, it would really do well. and, it would attract way more people to the hidden little roof top gem. there really is no view on the roof. its surrounded by taller buildings or walls on every side, so ur left with looking up… the sky. thats it. but on a warm suny day, or a warm summer night, i love it. 4 caraffes of white sangria, frozen coladas, spicy grilled shrimp**amazing., spicy wings, calamari** some of the best ive had, wild boar corn dogs?! threee different types of guacamole? beet, mango and traditional! and hands down the best clam chowder ive ever had… everr. ive worked in the food/bevg industry in boston for 4 years now, many places, and this blows them all away. thick but not pasty, hearty with lots of potatoe, fresh clams, topped with giant fried clams nestled a-top a giant — in– the– shell clam! the flavor will blow u away. its a cozy, relaxed place for friends, family, dates, birthdays, etc.

This place is unreal on Friday nights and most definitely one of Boston’s hidden Jewels… I never even knew this place existed! Most spots in Boston on Friday nights are pretty lame, but if your in the area or sick of the usual scene, you should check it out…

Heard there was rooftop access at this place; however, there was a line that wrapped within the inside perimeter. The waitress was obviously NOT happy and taking it out on customers. Please be a professional — your job is customer service and regardless of what’s happening in your own little world don’t be mean to people paying for you to bring drinks!
