I have lived in East Boston for over a year now and have walked by Taco Mania every day. Tonight I decided to go in for the first time and get a few soft shell beef tacos. What an amazement! The tacos had just the right amount of beef, pico de gallo, crema, guacamole, cilantro, and spice. They were double wrapped in soft corn tortillas, and made to order, not from that beef-like stuff Taco Bell keeps on the steam table. The restaurant was clean and the counter help was friendly. I definitely will be going back there to check out their other authentic Mexican and Salvadorean offerings. Kudos to you, Taco Mania!

Avoid. This. Place. Walked in to find trash in the middle of the floor and a snotty, bitchy 16 year old was taking orders at the counter. Paid $ 24 and get home to find that half of the order was missing. What a ripoff.

Love this place — my go to place for awesome take out and, when friends and family come to down, a great place to get some cheap eats for everyone in a laid back restaurant setting as well. The burritos are awesome(chicken, beef, and tongue), the refried beans are super tasty and the fried plantains are so sweetly delicious. The taco salad is also a great meal(salad does not equal healthy in this case but it does equal yum!). I’ve tried many foods there and never had a bad meal. It’s true that the waitresses don’t speak a lot of English but they’re friendly and helpful and we figure it out together. Most of the clientele are Spanish-speakers but, as a non-Spanish speaker, I’ve never had a problem getting exactly what I want.

My first eat in East Boston. It’s interesting for sure. Take-Aways: — I’m sad that I didn’t venture into their foods, because this is CLEARLY A JOINTFORHISPANICFOLKS. It was awkward that I was there, being the only non-Latino. — That said, the portions are filling, and it’s decently priced($ 10-$ 15 for one person). — Service is under-staffed, but they try their best, and the place is relatively small anyways, so it shouldn’t be an issue.

It is nice to see that I am slowly populating the east boston restaurant with reviews. Taco Mania. Well as you can see from the name, if you go there, you probably have a mania. A mania… for tacos. Their tacos are traditional in the style that they serve them with pico de gallo, cilantro and some hot sauce. Thats it. Their tortillas are home made and are delicious. The waitress is friendly, and unlike taqueria cancun(see my review for them too), she speaks english! 4*
