Some nice people work here. Plus, you can take a sandwich and go down the green alleyway across the street. No signs of bulletproof glass at present time.

Ok, so this place isn’t in on Newbury Street. So what! If I’m hustling off to work and dont want to take more than a step off the beaten track to get a good bite to eat, this place sure fits the bill. Did they once have bullet-proof glass? Yes, but consider the neighborhood, the fact that they stay open till 11pm and their proximity to the train station. I’m willing to bet they’ve been robbed more than once. But hey, kudos to them for taking it down. A while ago, they freshened the place up, added newer equipment and overall gave the joint a nice spit-shine. I have been a loyal customer ever since. Plus, where can you get a footlong sub stacked with everything for $ 5? The people who work there are extremely nice, and have been more than accommodating to my sometimes crazy requests — what can I say, I love bacon. They even made me a footlong with just bacon on it one day… for $ 5! How cool is that? They also have a new rewards program in place where you can get free stuff for nothing. Lastly, the guy did not hesitate when I whipped out a stack of dollar coins to pay for my lunch. He laughed and remarked«if you’ve got a thousand of these, tell me where I can pick them up». If I can make some food recommendations: #1: roasted chicken breast footlong done any way you like — the best $ 5 you will ever spend #2: the veggie delight with extra veggies on a flatbread — great for a healthy snack and is only $ 3.75 or so #3: they have a little-advertised chicken-bacon-ranch that is the sh_t! its more expensive($ 7) but is well worth it. Just ask for it and they’ll hook you up. On a final note, they give a student discount here. I’m not a student so I never try to fake it, but I believe its 10% off. To echo Dustin Todd R., back off this subway, they are def a bright spot in this area. If you want«upscale», the prudential is just around the corner. As for me, I like dishing out $ 5 for a delicious lunch.

Subway is subway. A little bit of meat and lots of limp lettuce. This particular subway is very shady. They finally got rid of the bullet proof glass.

I guess I’ll add a star because they now take credit cards. Oh, and they took down the bullet proof glass.

It’s a Subway, it has Subway food. This is not a surprise. It is also not a particularly clean or friendly Subway.

S-K-E-T-C-H-Y Damn. Bullet proof glass? A little sliding, turn window to stick the sandwich/money through? Where is this, Cabrini-Green? I’ve seen banks with less security features. Sandwich was fine. Subway is subway, but as a vegetarian it’s hard to get a semi-nutritious lunch ANYWHERE for less than $ 5. However, I’ll pay the extra $ 1.50 to leave my glock at home and I’ll go to Café Golden Horn instead.

This Subway is located approximately 300 feet from my house. And yet I have only been to it about four times, out of desperation. The sandwiches are mediocre to bad(as Subway sandwiches usually are), the«restaurant» is tiny, and the sandwich guy makes your sandwich behind a thick layer of bullet proof glass. Nothing says comfort food like the thought that someone might come in and start shooting the place up at any minute.

This is, I believe, the only subway I’ve ever been into that you have to YELL over bullet proof glass to your sandwich artist. The artists usually don’t have stellar english skills either, so there is a lot of back and forth creepy yelling… Limited seating at this location. Depressing.
