For what they charge, I expected par excellence service, and my server could not have been more bored with the prospect of my ordering«just soup.» As I was preparing to go to work, I could not drink nor did I have time to have a multi-course fine dining experience. I was unnerved that the servers placed me at a table against a pillar while the rest of the spacious dining area was wide open. I felt like my patronage was neither welcomed nor was it too grandiose to warrant excessive amounts of time. The soup I had was phenomenal, but was it worth the hefty price tag? No. When I discretely informed the server that I was an airline crew member, the server bowed politely, but I still saw him roll his eyes as he walked away. I pay just like every other customer, but I should not be made to feel guilty when I request to use the perks I am obliged. My server was far more interested in the older, and visibly more affluent, couple that was sat at a near by table with a far more comfortable space to relax. I’d much rather take my business to the smaller, local places outside the hotel than to be treated like that again. The only thing saving SL from a single star review was that the soup was truly an experience.

Totally torn on this place. We came in later on the Saturday before the Boston Marathon(around 9 pm) and the place was quiet and relaxing, but still had a decent number of people there. The bartender was really friendly and our burger was incredible! The burger was perfectly cooked with a pretzel bun and came with some really good garlic fries. They also had a good selection of beers. The service(besides the bartender) was SO awful though. I got to know the bartender because I went up to him to buy my drinks every time because our waiter didn’t bother. We watched him standing in the corner chatting it up and sure, maybe, he had a long day or something, but it wasn’t crowded and there was zero line for the bar. He did manage to pull himself together enough to eventually throw down 1 menu at our 2 person table, take our order after we asked the bartender where we order from(someone else brought the food out to us) and then dole out the check. We passed on coming back here during the rest of our stay(the lounge is inside the Boston Park Plaza) because we didn’t want to bother with having to wait so long again. I really want to give just 1 star because of the service, but the bartender was great and the food was definitely ¾ stars.

Nice pre-dinner cocktail hangout with friends, off the beaten path where you can unwind and get ready for enjoyable evening. Having the Park Plaza Hotel lobby as a backdrop bathes you in hotel and Boston history you really feel part of the city — cheers

Hotel bars and restaurants bore me a bit. In my head, because you are primarily a hotel then your bar and restaurant will be secondary. Maybe thats a very stab at the subtly of hotel management but whatever. With my expectations in the area of not expecting much, I enjoyed my time at the Statler’s lounge. I only had wine at my time there but what else do you really need. Great place for people watching(it is the Park Plaza after all Dahling) and the service was good enough. Nothing to run to if you’re in Boston(especially if you’re staying somewhere else) but also nothing that will leave you scarred from your visit to Beantown.

This review is for the bar. This is a typical hotel bar. $ 12 mixed drinks and $ 6 beers. Not crazy expensive, but not cheap either. The food menu is at the end of the drink menu which is why some other people may have missed it. Food sounded good although I didn’t try any of it.

First I have to say that I am a fan of the Park Plaza hotel. They are going through some renovation right now so it looks like they have an identity crisis, but I digress. This review is for breakfast at the Statler Lounge. We had a large group of 12 and were sat quickly. We met at 8am and the place never got crowded. It seemed that they had a sufficient staff on and our waiter was quite nice. Half of us ordered the buffet and the other half ordered off the menu. Those who got the buffet were very happy with the variety and quality. Those of us who ordered off the menu had to wait quite a long time for our food. That was odd since they really weren’t crowded. Maybe they don’t expect people to order off the menu, maybe the kitchen had an off day. That was awkward, but we made it work. All in all, an enjoyable breakfast.

Meh. Pricey hotel bar. Cheapest thing on the menu is a $ 10 cup of chowder. Average selection of beers.

Worst service and dirty martini I have ever had. First off, kit took the waiter 10 minutes to get to us when there were only 5 other parties in the lounge. Second, he didn’t bring us menus when he first came over. Third, when I said we were interested in drinks and food he only brought us a drink menu. Fourth, the dirty martini he brought me had 3 olives in it and zero olive juice. Enough said.
