Very good massage. The massage was strong, specifically targeted the tightest areas and they gave me plenty of tips for stretching to help prevent such tightness.

Sifu is an amazing healer who I have been seeing for many years. I have seen him for injuries mostly related to bodybuilding or running. He has allowed me to continue on with my health and fitness, avoiding suggested surgeries from physicians in the past that we’re not needed. I am very fortunate to have known him, and I will recommend anyone to him. A few things to know before you set up an appointment with him are that he doesn’t speak English very well, and his medicine that he makes is very strong. If you have sensitive skin be cautious.

Each session is only $ 50, and that is for 45 minutes. My left feet is about 3 each longer than the right because I fell in the past and my right hip bone has fused. Dr. Sio worked on my hip for 45 minutes, and I could stretch further than I could ever before. I will be going back! This is downtown Chinatown, so parking it tough. Just take the T!

If you have never seen a dit da sifu(Chinese healing master) before, I will assure that you will be a convert after visiting Mr. Sio. He is an actual master at Chinese therapeutic massage, and he knows what he is doing. He is very honest with his diagnoses, very thorough with his work, and holds a very professional mannerism. These sessions are not meant to be soothing or painless, so I don’t suggest you go in with that expectation. I first went to him after what felt like spraining my right knee one winter morning. He had an open appointment time that afternoon, so I dropped by his office. He said that my knee injury caused tightness in my quads and hips, so he worked on all those parts. Furthermore, when he examined my ankle, he asked if I had injured it before. I told him that I had, but years ago when I was a teenager. He told me that the joints in that area were hardened, and that he would loosen those for me as well. I told you he was thorough. The year after, I went to him with recurring pain from a snowboarding injury on my tailbone that occurred more than a decade ago. Due to the nature of my injury, he asked for consent to work in that area and made sure that I was comfortable with it. After that, there was no feigning modesty there. He does what he has to for your healing process. After he uses qi gong(a martial art that guide energy through the body) and massaging techniques for about 30 – 45 minutes, he will apply a homemade herbal paste on the inflicted area to increase blood flow and to expedite healing. This whole process costs $ 50 a session. He is the most talented qi gong and dit da masters I have ever worked with, and I try only working with him even though I’m from out of state. Boston is very lucky to have him here. Note: he does not speak much English, so definitely try to get someone that speaks Chinese to go with you!(He’s a Macau native.)

I had a shoulder injury from doing too much weights at the gym. I realized that I was unable to raise a light dumbbell past the front of me. I saw an orthopedic surgeon and he gave me a shot of cortisone because he suspected tendinitis and instructed me to stay away from the gym for a month. I stayed away and the issue didn’t go away. My parents raved about this guy and I decided to give it a shot. On my first visit, he gave me an intense massage around my affected area with a strong vapor smelling ointment which provided heat to the area. I was amazed at this guy’s knowledge of the human anatonmy because he didn’t just work the affected area, he worked other areas to can cause circulation blockages to that spot. At the end of the treatment, I was able to raise the dumbbell above my head. Pretty amazing. He also gave me the funky smelling patch. He fore-warned me that if I get a reaction to it, then to remove it immediately. I ended getting a skin reaction to it and I removed it and it went away after a couple of days. But I went back again and repeated his massage and I was once again able to raise the dumbbell over my head. But this time, instead of the patch, he gave me some ointment to take home and treat myself. He said my injury was pretty bad and he says it might not go away. My shoulder has improved since then as I can raise a dumbbell over my head. I stopped going because it was hard for me to make time. Although I’m not 100%, it’s good that I have range of motion again. This guy is legit and I suggest people to give him a shot. A bit painful but well worth it.

My mom has brought me to this great Dit Da(Fall Hit) doctor on two occasions. I have to say he has profound knowledge in what he does. This is not your typical western doctors office. This is something people need to understand before going to a place like this. Its very very different if you are not used to or understand fully about Chinese medicine and culture. You might be put off about the methodology and approach to this type of treatment. I came here with a very very bruised hand I injured. My middle and ring finger could barely make a fist and could not extend my fingers all the way. The Hand Specialist told me I ripped some ligaments and recommended surgery. I opted for a splint but there was not much else they provided. I came to Dr. Sio and he immediately noticed I had a problem where I was injured. My hand was not insanely swollen but the middle knuckle was a bit tender and the space between the middle and ring finger. He saw it the moment I entered the room. After an hr of massage with a special liniment. And some intense acupressure massage and joint manipulation. I noticed how my knuckles opened up as if someone took out all this blockage. I still couldn’t extend all the way nor make a full fist, there was pain but it was greatly improved. After wards I had a herbal paste with a funky odor wrapped around my hand and it was placed for 10 hrs at least. He gave me some more band-aids and paste(all home made) for me to apply for 3 days. The next day the complexion around my knuckle cleared up as it was a darker hue like tanned skin. Though I am still worried because my hand is still unable to make a full extension. The medicine I apply every day has brought the swelling to non-existent and the pain has subsided immensely. Before it was hard to even brush my teeth or hold a pot. This is just 2 days after I saw him. He said the injury wasn’t that bad but I did wait a little long to get it treated. I’m really not going to get surgery. I think its a bit last resort and its irreversible if I get it. Plus tons of scarring. If you have a friend who is Chinese I would ask him/her to come along considering Dr. Sio doesn’t speak English well. He might be reluctant treating people not understanding of how Chinese medicine works so don’t take it personally. I think someone tried to sue him once, like most americans. He does say. Immediately remove anything if you develop an itch. I hope more people can open their eyes to Eastern Medicine. It really does work wonders without terrible side effects. If you love eastern medicine and believe in its amazing results. Along with having an injury. I highly recommend Dr Sio Kam Lung. A very good Dit Da doctor.
