I just had a great cut and color from Shimon. He has made me look like a real blonde. I highly recommend this salon.

Already a few months ago I was at Shimon’s salon and although I need a haircut my hair still has remained it’s model/style. Shimon was accurate and listened to my wishes. Moreover he was very friendly and charismatic. The staff was extremely friendly. I live far from Boston otherwise I would return!

Love this place! Stumbled upon it while looking for a salon one day and haven’t gone anywhere else since. Ask for Matteo, he’s the best!

Shimon and his team did a fabulous job on my highlights! I was a walk-in visiting Boston on business and they accommodated my schedule. The color was some of the best I’ve had in several years. I recommend Shimon!

Hair color! This place is literally AMAZING My friend has a really really dark black hair and she wanted to make it blonde but every place we went to said that’s going to be hard and they’re not sure but Shimon Salon actually did it We’re still in the process cuz we only had two sessions in one week and they really did an awesome job

Pros: Friendly, warm salon. The stylist who did my hair did a great job. Low ego salon – refreshing. Cons: I asked for a partial foil and got a full-without any discussion. Then he put gloss on my hair without any discussion. And then asked if I wanted it blown dry-sure I responded(last I checked it was INDUSTRYSTANDARD to dry your client’s hair after getting a cut or color…). I get to the register and it is $ 270. Pardon me? Yep: $ 165 for full highlight(yet I asked for partial and at no point did the stylist state ‘we need to do a full and this is what it costs’) $ 55 for the gloss that was automatically put on my head without any discussion. $ 50 for blow dry-which, again, this is NOT industry standard to not include in cut/color! Was I supposed to walk out w/a wet head after paying $ 165 for highlights? Fail for the communication. Felt scammy. What a shame b/c I think they otherwise have a good thing there. Business advice: Lose the scam-include blow dry like every salon on earth(except Super Cuts and Dellaria level salons, but their prices are all around very low…). When one pays $ 165 for a hair treatment, you can’t include a blow dry? Also, you must improve the communication. I will not be going back.

I came in after a disaster elsewhere and they immediately made me feel better. They were able to see me right away and Shimon himself took great care of me. He is like an artist when he works and he just kept smiling I barely had to give him any direction he is a master. Mateo was also lovely and gave me a great shampoo and blowout. I would highly recommend coming here if you are looking for great service and experience. Make sure you remind them to give you the 20% off for first time customers(I forgot).

It was all great. They weren’t happy with my discount coupon so don’t whip those out before its time to pay! :p

Dave is so great! Not only is he a pleasure to talk to, but he is gives an amazing haircut. I have med-long hair and wanted to keep some length, but give it some shape and movement. He took his time and was so strategic about everything. It turned out perfect. I’ve never actually been excited after a haircut, but I walked out feeling great. Thx, Dave!

Not happy with the information they give. I was told eyebrow threading is available on Wednesdays Fridays and Saturdays _however Saturday they did not have the lady who does it and Wednesday when I went back in there, they said the lady has left. I went in at 6:30 and they probably close at 8. So this review is purely for the incorrect information I was provided.

I use to go to Louis when he was at Salon Olé in downtown. Now I’m among those who followed him here. He is incredible when it comes to color. He knows how to color and highlight hair the correct way without damaging it. There is a difference! He can also help you find a color that matches your skins undertones. And he can blow dry and give you those soft curls everyone is looking for. What else can you ask for?! Highly recommend!

I came here for the first time a few weeks ago. Henry cut my hair and did an awesome job. The staff is very welcoming and the environment is comfortable and pleasant. The owner was there and greeted me as I came in and introduced himself. Highly recommend,

A comfortable salon with no attitude. The owner is always there with a warm greeting. Well located, T accessible with a friendly staff Shimon Salon offers great service and reasonable pricing. Having lived in this neighborhood for many years it wasn’t till I had moved out and was in need of a new stylist that I walked into the salon. David my stylist is accommodating, talented and just plain NICE. He is currently a part time student which does create some scheduling challenges… but I have almost always been able to get seated when I really need it.

I am sooo picky about my hair! I have fine shoulder length hair and needed a quick trim. Stopped by the salon on my way home just in case they had an opening. I had never been there before so I was a little nervous. Shimon did a great job so I went back in the following day since another salon screwed up my highlights a few days prior. I was nervous about that too but I was impressed! Not only did he fix my highlights, it didn’t damage my hair. Usually go to someone until they mess up my hair and then find a new hair person. Oh, and I usually don’t let anyone blow dry my hair but he did well with that too. Told a friend, she went and had a great experience too. Yay!

Have you ever had a moment when you looked in the mirror and thought to yourself, «Wow, I’ve really let myself go»? Well, that was me earlier this week as I stared in the mirror at my not-so-attractive Jennifer Connelly eyebrows. Usually I go to a spot in Cambridge for threading, but its hours are inconvenient with the shop closing at 5:45pm. I couldn’t leave work early to get there in time and my self-esteem wouldn’t allow me to wait until the weekend, so I decided to go elsewhere. After a Unilocal search, I came upon Shimon Salon and immediately made an appointment. Booking was easy and the receptionist was friendly. At first I mentally rolled my eyes when the threadest(is that the proper term?) didn’t have the common courtesy to say, «Hello, my name is___» and instead greeted me with, «OK, I’m ready now.»(I still don’t know her name, by the way.) But all was forgiven 10 minutes later. I’ll admit, the first round wasn’t satisfactory – I had to instruct her a couple of times to clean my brows up more. But she was patient about it and listened to my feedback. In the end, I left looking fabulous. Thank you, Shimon Salon threadest(who still has yet to be named), for giving me my confidence back! I’m knocking a star off this place though because of the price. Threading at Shimon is $ 15 while my regular spot is $ 12. I can only hope that one day Boston salons(not just Shimon) catch up to the NYC ones that charge only $ 6-$ 7 for this service.

I don’t let just anyone cut my hair, but Shimon is the guy for it. He’s fast, precise and reasonably priced. Also just a nice guy. This is my monthly hair cut for sure.

I love Shimon and the staff. I travel from New York just to have my hair done. The prices are high but worth every penny. The rent in the area reflects some of the reason for the prices and I think sometimes people forget that. Even still, I’ve always walked out of there with a beautiful cut and color. I feel like a model when I leave. I just love this place!

The only service I’ve had done here is the eyebrow threading. It’s so hard to find someone who can do it properly and shape right– let alone do it in the first place! There’s only one woman who does it at Shimon and she is fabulous. She always does a great job– I will not go anywhere else. I had one experience that was sort of lame here– I booked a manicure for two weeks in advance. I was then called back a few days later to be told the person who supposed to do it was going on vacation. I rebooked. Two days before the appointment I was called again to be told she would still not be in town. I canceled and got my nails done at Bliss instead. Besides that though, Shimon has been really good to me and I’ll continue to use them for my threading. I will try to book a manicure here again at some point too to be fair.

Having just moved to Boston from California, I needed someone to take over where my much loved stylist/colorist left off. I was nervous. Not knowing anyone here, I went to Unilocal and found Shimon Salon. I stopped by to check it out and was greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff that gave me a consultation on the spot. 3 months later, and I couldn’t be happier with my cut, color, highlights, and eyebrows(they do threading too)! Wonderful place, everyone I see there looks amazing — so happy to have found them on my first try at a Boston salon. Also, they use Bumble and Bumble and Kerastase, my fav products. Merci Shimon Salon, See you soon! xx

Olesya gave the most perfect brows I have ever had, hands down, and I have been all over NYC and Boston looking for the perfect eyebrow specialist. They don’t advertise her services for some reason, and I only found out thanks to the reviewer below me, but she does eyebrows for $ 15 before tip($ 10 for upper lip which I didn’t do) and she’ll do threading or waxing. I opted for threading, and for me, she came in with the tweezer a lot(I had REALLY grown out my brows), so even though it hurt a lot more than other threading jobs I’ve had, it resulted in brows with the most perfect thickness(not too thin like others tend to do), perfect height, and perfect length I’ve ever had, so it was completely worth it. I’m only deducting a star(I would give 4.5 if I could) because she doesn’t do any«extra» work that most other threaders in Boston do, like post-threading aloe, forehead massage, or trimming, but for the absolutely fabulous job and the cheaper-than-others price, I will totally revisit again!
