I work around this area, and probably come here more than I should. Absolutely love their pad thai! Their complimentary tea is also amazing!

It’s one of the better Thai restaurants in Boston. It tastes the most authentic(I’m Thai, I should know, right?) the dish that I like the most is the Rad Nah, tastes pretty much like home. We ordered a few things from here: 1. Boat Noodles(Guay Tiaw Rua): tastes pretty good, not too salty. Tell the waiter you don’t want it spicy if you hate spicy food. — I would say their best dish here. 2. Rad Nah Moo(pork Rad Nah): the noodles are cooked perfectly 3. Mango Sticky Rice: too much coconut sauce, the rice doesn’t taste that good — I wouldn’t recommend this dish at all 4. Thai Iced Tea: Doesn’t taste like authentic Thai iced tea, definitely do not order this if you hate sweet things, I could only taste the syrup 5. Kao Gra Pao Moo Grob– super delicious! I ordered a few other things here, overall the food is great, just not the dessert.

We usually go to the Rod Dee in Coolidge Corner where the service is great… but not this location they wanted to charge us for condiments! Not to mention they decided to mop the floors at 915pm when they close at 1030pm. The bleach was so strong I didn’t want to finish my food. We’re sticking to the Coolidge Corner location better atmosphere and service.

I love Rod Dee Thai. I have been to this location and their location in Brookline multiple times. It’s a great place if you are looking for cheap, delicious Thai food, generous portions, and fast take-out. The only downsides are cash only(they have an ATM inside) and limited seating, so it really works as a take-out place only. For lunch today I decided to get the pork pad see ew($ 8.35). The wide flat noodles were sautéed in a generous amount of oil and were perfectly soft and chewy. The pork was tender and flavorful. There was a nice helping of scrambled egg, which is my favorite addition to pad see ew. Portions were large — I can easily split one meal into two, and my meal came out in about 10 minutes. They also have freely available cold water, which I appreciated since all the salt and oil makes me thirsty. Overall, one of my favorite Thai places in Boston(along with Spice in Harvard Square).

One of my favorite fast thai food spots in the city. The food comes out quickly, it’s affordable, and everything tastes great! The drunken noodles and yellow curry are my go to, their special chive dumpling appetizer is also really good! It’s cash only! They have an ATM inside thougH!

I come here once every few weeks for my Thai food fix and I always order something different since the menu here is huge. While the pad thai and pad kee mao are decent, I find myself enjoying the obscure dishes on the menu more. I highly recommend the crystal pad thai, Tom Yum pad thai, and Thai sukiyaki! The drinks are also solid. I’ve had the pineapple basil smoothie(good but a little pricey), avocado shake(on par with the ones from Chinatown!) and Vietnamese coffee(sugary but so worth it). I like that it’s self serve and that they have free hot tea if you dine in!

First thing first, the food here are amazing and really satisfying in a cold winter. We came here around 9pm. It was a bit funny that the restaurant was empty when we came, but as soon as we were seated, people rushed in, like trying to grab some awesome food before they close. We ordered the Indonesian Fried Rice and Thai Sukiyaki in soup. Both dishes are pretty hot(warm and spicy) and full of flavor. I particularly enjoyed the crispy chicken on top of fried rice, which is like pork katsu(those from Japanese restaurant). The Sukiyaki soup is similar to Tom Yum(a bit thicker though), and it came with read bean curd sauce, which totally added more flavor to the dish. They also have free tea on the counter, which tasted like barley tea. It really warms us up in this cold winter :) Can’t wait to come back and try more items.

The menu had SO many items that we were intimidated at first but we ordered from the special menu and we were very content with the dishes — the Tom Yum Pad Thai and the Beef Penang Curry. The Beef was very spicy with classic Thai flavors but the real standout was the Pad Thai. The portions were ginormous so one should go with a hungry stomach and cash(because it’s cash only).

My wife and I came here on a Friday night to get dinner. I ordered the beef drunken noodle and my wife ordered the Indonesian fried rice. I really liked my drunken noodle plate. I thought it tasted very clean, a great combination of flat noodles, vegetables, and meat, and it had that spicy kick to it which really topped it off for me. I really liked their Indonesian fried rice as well. When I get it from the chain in Brookline(near Coolidge Corner), they make it super greasy, but this chain made it super clean which I really enjoyed. If you are around the area and you are looking for a good Thai food place, I highly recommend this chain. Although the dining area is pretty small, you should be able to find a table easily since most people do take-outs. I really enjoyed this place very much and I am most definitely coming back here again whenever I need to get my Thai food on!

This place is quick, satisfying, and cheap. Whenever I’m in the mood for Thai food in a casual setting, this is my go-to. The dishes come out very fast, and you can choose to takeout or sit on Peterborough Street’s picnic tables to enjoy your meal. My favorite dishes are the classic Pad Thai and Pad See Yew. Minus one star because this restaurant is cash-only, which means that you have to come prepared.

This review is only for their delivery. To be honest, I’ve had some good Thai food before, and this place doesn’t really hit the top. However, averaging their service/kindness and food, this place definitely deserved at least 3 stars. Pad See You with beef: This isn’t my go-to dish at thai restaurants, but the reviews for it seemed good so I went with it. I was impressed! The beef was a little dry, but noodles and veggies were cooked nicely and the seasoning was not overwhelming. The spicy/sweet&sour sauce that came with it was delicious. I wish they packaged it better so that it wasn’t leaking, but still, it was great. The portion was abundant, and I was able to eat it for dinner and still have leftover. Pad Thai with shrimp: The pad thai was great, but once again, not over-my-head amazing. I like my pad thai’s with lots and lots of peanuts, but the one from here didn’t have so much, so that was a bummer. Service: Here is where I was most impressed. When I called at approximately 6PM, they were hesitant to respond when I asked if I could order delivery. I found out that their delivery guy didn’t come in, but the cashier lady on the phone was adamant in saying that she could deliver it! Haha, she was also kind enough to ask if it was okay to call me in case she gets lost(so cute). She arrived very quickly(within 30 – 45 minutes I want to say?) and I just really appreciated the fact that they tried to accommodate to situations where they could easily take the easy way out and just say no delivery for the night. Thank you!

Probably the best Pad Thai I’ve had in Boston. It is cash only, which is the only downside, but there’s plenty of ATMs in the Fenway area to cover you. The Pad Thai was hot, flavorful, but also light on the sauce, which I was surprised. At other Thai restaurants, you could go light on the sauce but you never seem to taste any of it. They have benches outside as well as indoor seating. I would definitely go back.

A German in Boston: I had the Drunken noodles with chicken(8.35 $) on the one day and the Spicy Pattaya(8.65 $) on the other! The Spicy Pattaya was simply awesome! The curry-Tomato Sauce fits perfect to the tofu and the veggies! It’s a little spicy, but not too much for the«normal European taste». I highly recommend paying a Dollar extra for the brown rice instead of the white … It’s an ideal fit! The Drunken Noodles weren’t quite my taste … But still the proportion between meat, veggies and noodles in the dish is perfect!

Checked the place out for its great value. Lost entrees were well under $ 10, soups and appetizers under $ 5, a handful of dishes between $ 10 – 15. Extremely reasonable. The place is located among a row of eateries in a Boston neighborhood a couple of blocks from Fenway. We ordered the Coconut Soup with Chicken, Tod Mon Fish Cake appetizer and Kai Himmapan. The soup lacked ginger and lemongrass flavor which is typical for this dish. Also, it needed some spice, lacked heat as well. The chicken was a tad dry. Still tasty coconut. The fish cake was chewy with an almost tasteless dipping sauce. It was bland. The Kai Himmapan is a sweet breaded chicken dish. The breading was light and remained crisp in the syrupy sauce. The sauce was a bit too sweet. The pineapple is probably from a can. The chicken was moist and cashews added a pleasant crunch. Rice was cooked well and moist. They only accept cash. They have small indoor and outdoor seating spaces. Orders are done at the counter and brought to the table. Service is friendly. They have tiny plastic cups for self serve icy water. Several trips back and forth for water. The menu has many options. Portions are generous. It’s decent food but mediocre thai food. The prices are right though. You can fill up here with very little cash. Definitely a value especially when you do not feel like cooking at home.

CASHONLY!!!(There’s a little ATM there) Ate at one of the restaurants next door and decided it would be a great idea to come back to try this place and I do not regret it! Price and ratio of food is not bad over here and although I thought my pad thai didn’t really look like one, it still tasted good! Anyways, service was pretty quick and super nice and definitely would come back here if I can venture all the way out to Fenway!

First time at this location and the food is still spot on! It’s not as big as the porter square location but there’s outdoor seating here and it’s a cute little place. Ordered: Pad thai with crispy chicken: the chicken isn’t on the menu for the pad Thai but just ask for it anyways. It’s worth everything you have. It’s ridiculously filling for the price. Mango with sticky rice: the mango slices were ripe and super sweet! I wasn’t too crazy about the sticky rice itself but it was worth trying. I wouldn’t order it again to be honest. Service: You just pay for your food and fix your own table! You don’t get any waiter service but that’s totally okay. I honestly prefer things that way. The silverware and complimentary water are on the side wall.

Finally tried this place before the big giant snow storm. Remind me of Pad Thai Café a little bit, although they bring the food to your table after you order at the counter. Have you ever receive your food in less than 8 minutes? Sometime I wait for my Starbucks sandwich longer than that. Wow so impressed. My friend, who is almost as obsessed with Thai Ice Tea as I am, rated this place as one of the best. I quite enjoy my thai tea. Although I search the menu to see how much it was(I like to do my cost analysis of my thai tea — so far S & I have the cheapest in Boston) — and couldn’t find it. But you should assume any real thai place have thai ice tea. If they don’t … run. Just know that this place have yummy thai tea and it’s probably cheap, who knows. Cash only — and you get that random atm there to charge you a few bucks so you should be prepare before hand. Warning ya Food. As I said — fast. Hot. Delicious. Got the basil crispy pork rice on the special menu. It was really good. Spicy, ate 3 bites per 1 gulp of thai ice tea or the complementary thai hot tea and your taste buds will be celebrating. Friend: good Pad Thai.(told me how a place call«B.S.C.» had some weird sour Pad THai) so having this sweet yummy Pad Thai for her had restored her faith in Thai Food. Make sure to clean up after yourself and leave happy, your meal will be awesome. Let’s save the extra star for next time, hopefully will see some consistency and eat some more delicious food :)

Rod Dee is such a hidden gem! It is located in the back streets of Fenway, so it’s hard to miss if you’re on the main streets(Boylston and Brookline) looking for a restaurant to eat it. I didn’t even knew this place existed. I believe it opened recently because I don’t remember seeing it when I use to eat at Neighborhoods Café a lot. Anyways, I came here and I imagined the place to be bigger. It is quite small. However, the food is AMAZING and CHEAP. It doesn’t get better than that. I ordered the pad thai and my friend ordered the Indonesia fried rice. I am not a huge fan of pad thai, but when I have weird cravings for it, I go HAM looking for some good pad thai. Rod Dee’s pad thai definitely satisfies my taste buds. It’s very home-y and it hits the right spots. The Indonesia fried rice was SO good! Hands down one of my favorite fried rice ever(it was my first time trying it). It comes with a scrambled egg and crispy chicken. The crispy chicken adds a really nice touch to it. I think I’m going to start ordering the fried rice rather than the pad thai. Their menu is pretty extensive for such a small place. I can’t wait to try other things from the menu! If you want to sit down and eat at this restaurant, I recommend telling the worker that you want«take out» and then sit down. That way they put the food in a take out box and if you have leftovers, you don’t have to ask them for a take out box. It’s much more convenient that way, if you get what I mean. I will definitely be coming to this spot more often as it’s only 15 minutes of a walk away from my school. They do take out and delivery as well. Doesn’t get better than this!

Went here with a friend to grab a bite to eat for lunch. This is your typical order at the counter type of restaurant so we decided to split an order of the yellow curry with chicken and a pad thai with chicken. The food took about 10 minutes to come out, which wasn’t too bad – but that was without a big lunch crowd so don’t know how that would change on a busy week day. The pad thai was very good. Surprisingly light, but very flavorful and a good portion for the price. There could have been a little more vegetables, but otherwise it was spot on. The yellow curry was my favorite dish. It came with plenty of chicken and vegetables and is served over rice that soaks it up quite nicely. Yellow curries are usually a bit more mild than other curries so I would be interested in trying a more spicy curry the next time. Overall, this place has great dishes, cheap prices, and friendly service. My favorite Thai spot in Boston so far – can’t wait to go back!

Rod Dee Thai 2 is located on the Fenway restaurant row between El Pelon and Neighborhoods Coffee And Crepes. They are marked«2» because they are the second of a small local chain of now four Thai restaurants, two of which are situated but about a half mile apart on Beacon Street. A Thai acquaintance had touted their pad thai made Thai style as the best in these here parts, so that was on my mind when we headed out here for dinner one evening. Yes indeed, they could make their Pad Thai Thai style $ 9.40. And yes, they were willing to add snow peas to the Seafood Honeymoon $ 12.90 Shrimp & Squid sauteed with baby corn, mushroom, onion, broccoli & carrots. A you-gotta-be-blind-to-miss it sized sign decorating their counter loudly proclaimed«Cash Only» and an ATM machine stood at attention for the convenience of those patrons who had no idea of this lack of plastic before their arrival. We enjoyed the flavors and the crisp veggies and tender meats of our two dishes. I felt the Thai style noodle dish to be savorier and more flavorful than the traditional sweet American version that I also appreciate. I also had one of their Thai Iced Tea($ 2.80/$ 3 tax included) and enjoyed that as well. Bust your own table — plates go in the corner by the entrance. Silverware or plastic and napkins are self-serve. I also found toothpicks hiding out in one of the cubbies below. A single person bathroom was convenient and appreciated. PS — since their normal prices for Pad Thai is $ 8.35 and for the Seafood Honeymoon is $ 11.90, I guess there was a surcharge for the changes we requested.
