I went in there to get a big 16 piece family meal that was mild. So by the time I made it all the way home I found out it was spicy. just make sure they are giving you the right stuff because they don’t care

I love you Popeyes! I dream of your fries… So crispy and perfect. I don’t get to eat you as much as I like… Maybe that’s a good thing? I wish they’d bring back that fried chicken sandwich with the Cajun sauce on a bun! Now I just settle for the spicy chicken fingers and of course the biscuit! Don’t forget the ranch dressing for your fries and fingers! This branch seems to run out of stuff a lot! The last visit they were out of 4 sodas! As long as they don’t run out of fries, I’m good.

Why does the food here cost more than other Popeye’s? Is it because it’s near some universities? They get minus a star for charging more than other Popeye’s for no reason and it’s like .80 — $ 1 difference at that! The chicken was good but cold. Guess the warmers could be turned up a little. Fries were ice cold and soggy too. Do they even have heaters? Minus more stars. They don’t seem to keep the popular items in stock as they are constantly out and have to make more at the last minute. If you’re down to 3 chicken tenders, make more. Don’t wait till someone wants nuggets then have the person wait 15 minutes. The staff is very slow too. I thought the folks at the Roxbury location was slow, but these guys are Caribbean slow(for the people who have traveled). The location sucks too. Prepare to park and walk a ways. I guess most people take the train or hoof it there. It’s also very small inside. I was in a line of 3 people and I felt like I was standing on the back of the person sitting down eating. No room at all in the place. Be better as strictly take out as the place is a shoebox. I’ll be taking my business back to the Popeye’s in Roxbury cause this one is trash.

I’ve been here 4 or 5 times since moving to Boston. Food quality here is usually quite good. The last visit the chicken tasted like it had been sitting for a while, guess we got the end of a older batch, so it was a bit dried up. They were also out of Ketchup and Coleslaw. Not going to hold it against them when they mess up just once, it was still a decent meal. Keep up the good work.

Well. Nothing has changed. Stopped in at 930. No mild chicken. and was told they were closing so there would be none. I asked«don’t you close at 11»? «No». Was the reply.

Who doesn’t like popeyes? It is even better when you manage to get a coupon book with popeye’s discount. They have the crazy soda machine where you can make over 100 soda combinations. If you get the spicy chicken tenders, they have a bunch of sauces you can pick from. The blackened ranch has been my fave. Pretty convenient location when you stop by Fenway/Kenmore. They have a TV in here that usually plays some random sports so I sometimes watch while eating a 8 piece meal.

The food tasted fine. I had the tenders and cajun fries, and no complaints there. The staff however, were abysmal. Very rude, very slow, and not accommodating whatsoever. I made an order through foodler which went awry, meaning I would have to place a new order and deal with foodler separately. Not a huge deal, it’s a fast food joint, so I wouldn’t have to wait long to make another order. But I waited, and waited, and waited for someone to come take my order. There were three servers standing around and looking at each other as I was waiting to place a new order. I am asked to move out the way of the register, very rudely may I add, so that someone else could pay. I had already paid, and was waiting for the cashier to put my food in a bag. I entered the establishment in a very good mood, and left fuming. The moral of the story is to avoid this location. If you want Popeyes, go to another location. Don’t let these people bring you down.

Worst fast food place I have ever visited! Extremely rude and untidy staff(they looked more like mechanics)! Real dirty place, cold food, soggy fries, no utensils … oh, did I mention extremely rude staff?!

I never grow tired of Popeyes’ chicken. Every time, it’s so good. And the food is consistently delicious wherever you go, almost nationwide. The only thing I’d ask them would be to add onion rings to their menu. Their web site coupons(awaiting 2016’s) are great deals. Still, I agree that the service is spotty. I’ve just found out that most are independent franchises. In fact, out of the 1600+ Popeyes units in the US, less than 100 are corporate owned. This may explain the less-than-enthusiastic behind-the-counter personnel you encounter there now and again. As a former restauranteur, I know this is about the lack of staff training by these independent franchisors. So, if you’re reading, corporate, include a training regimen in your franchise agreements. Your product and concept are too good to fall by the wayside because of poor or neglectful service.

If your staff does not know how to run a Groupon through the register, you probably should not offer it. The person who took our order refused to enter it into the POS system and the MOD spent 2 minutes coaxing her to do it. She finally does it and the MOD ends up erasing it off and the process starts again. I show her the Groupon and she is quick to hit the redeem button on my phone, but had no idea how to ring the $ 20 value through the register. 15 minutes in and running low on time, I asked if I could take a seat and start eating the food since it was already paid. She said NO because the transaction hasn’t gone through which means that I haven’t paid for the meal. Clearly had zilch understanding of how Groupon works and that I had already paid when she hit redeem on my Groupon. Aside from the issues at the register, service ran like molasses and the place seemed like it wouldn’t pass a health inspection. Food sat in the front at room temperature and Cajun fries were soggy and should’ve been thrown out a few hours before. Employees were running their hands through hair and touching the register before touching the food. The only redeeming factor was the chicken and its crispy skin, but mild or spicy were basically interchangeable. Back to the Colonel!

I ordered shrimps and there was no sauce given. The customer service was poor, it seemed as I made them to serve me. The cleanliness of the place on general is low, I was expecting a much better experience. Not recommended unless you have no where else to go.

I went there after a long day at a conference nearby and having had two beers and some nachos. So I thought that this is the perfect food for this situation ;-). I ordered the menu with 5 chicken tenders and fries to go to my room. The chicken tenders were delicious, the fries weren’t(mainly cause they were cold). The dipsauces were great too, but there wasn’t as much as I’d like to have. Drink a couple of beers before you come here and you’ll enjoy the place and the food even more :-)

One poorly planned fall day, I decided it’d be «fun» to walk from the Museum of Science all the way over to Fenway Park. Upon realizing that Fenway tours were expensive and that my family was now famished, we stopped by at Popeyes across the street! Back in college, I LOVED Popeyes. We would drive 20+ minutes out of town for the stuff(obvs not in Boston). While I no longer go out of my way for their weekly deals, my mama spotted a sign in the window for something along the lines of 11 pieces of chicken for under $ 15! While the food was mostly presentable, here are my few complaints: 1) They ran out of spicy chicken just SLIGHTLY past lunchtime. We waited 10 minutes for another batch to come out. It just aint fast food at this rate. 2) Cole slaw was soggy! If any place did cole slaw right, I’d expect it to be Popeyes. Clearly, nobody orders this here because it must’ve been sitting forever. The cabbage was turning translucent and everything was super mushy. 3) So… the place was kind of dirty. Boo for that. They have one of those fancy Coke machines as well as iced tea on the side. They have restrooms too so be sure to wash up after touching all them chicken wings(or just freshen up if you decide to walk all the way across town for no reason like I did). Enjoy!

This is a review meant for the Popeye’s located within Northeastern University’s famed Curry Student Center, which unfortunately doesn’t have a Unilocal page YET. I feel that I should first delve into the rich history of the Popeye’s location at Curry Student before I continue my review. The Year was 2012. It was a dark time in my life, for I was a college student without a food court worthy of the prestigious University I attended. Day after day, week after week, the haplessly outdated Curry Student Center provided me with overpriced Wendy’s, Pizza Hut Express(a poor man’s classic Pizza Hut), Taco Bell(garbage in, garbage out) and the meal plan sponsored West End(of my belief in good things). Lo and behold, during the summer of 2012, Northeastern University took notice of the general aura of dread and despair that permeated the Curry Student Center. When students like myself arrived for Fall classes, we were greeted with a new and improved Curry, one nigh unrecognizable to its former iteration. This Haven for the Hungry had been completely renovated in design and more importantly, in food variety. Gone were the Pizza Hut Express and the Wendy’s of old. In their stead, Sweet Tomato’s, UBurger, Kigo Kitchen, and one other special restaurant began their reign of benevolence and just dining experiences for all who had about $ 5 – 10 to their name. I remember the day I met Popeye’s just like the day anyone meets their first, true, and only love. It was a rainy day in September and I was just a few short days from beginning my third year. I was perusing our campus bookstore when I suddenly became beleaguered with an affliction of hunger pangs. Having not much time before my stomach naturally collapsed on itself, I rushed out of the bookstore and into the Curry Student Center. They say scent is the most powerful sense of memory, and I can certainly attest to that. As soon as I approached Popeye’s, wafts of meticulously well-breaded, divinely seasoned fried chicken penetrated my nostrils(sexually, very sexually) and in that moment I knew that this was the fast food chain I would grow old with. In all seriousness, this is a top-notch fast food joint. Their original fried chicken is honestly excellent(similar to Bojangles, equivalent in quality to Chick-Fil-A, miles ahead of KFC), but their cajun fries should not be missed! Aside from the obvious value and time proposition that a fast food chain offers, Popeye’s additionally benefits from offering inspired semi-monthly meal specials(e.g. Rippin’ Chicken, Surf N Turf, etc) that really help to entice repeat customers(or offenders, if your general health was the court of law). «So, Edba, only 4 stars???» To that, I respond: «Oh, this place has it all, but it’s no McDonald’s!»

This popeye’s chain single handledly ruined the 2011 Boston Red Sox season. Some of my favorite Red Sox players got busted for drinking beer and eating fried chicken during one of the games. This demise led to the firing of Terry Francona and put an end to Terry’s legendary era here in Boston. Popeye’s chicken is dangerous and it can potentially put your baseball team’s season to jeopardy. It all starts with that amazing smell. It captures your attention right away. Once you enter the store, there is no turning back. You are powerless against the power of popeyes. Next thing you know, you got yourself a box of 10 pieces for $ 13.99 all for yourself. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all cost because once it captures you, I promise you, it will enslave you forever.

We all know that indulging in too much fast food is not good for you. But my mind has created an exemption for places that serve fried chicken because you can kind of tell what part of the animal you are eating. Rational right? My love for spicy fried chicken has been a long journey from the urban streets of Jersey & Popeye’s fill that need perfectly. Through in some dirty rice & I am pretty much in heaven. While this location is small, they shoehorned a few tables inside & even a restroom for it customers. The staff is a prime example of treating people like you want to be treated. They are open late & get a lot of clients from local bars & clubs. That is when«sassy» mode comes into full effect but my personal experience has always been positive except the time it was 10:15pm & the closing time was 11:00pm but the staff refused to make any more chicken even though there was a long line of paying clientele eagerly waiting for a quick two piece & a biscuit. The $ 3.89 Fenway Special, two piece or two tenders & a biscuit, is the best deal in the area. Overall it is a satisfying experience but most people do come for the atomsphere. So I will find any excuse I can to come here & feed my irrational hunger for that chicken at Popeye’s!!!

I go out of my way to come here because I love Popeye’s so much! That craving in the middle of the week… Always and I mean always greeted by the nicest people. Never rushes me and my indecisiveness, always asking me if I want some extra sauce and things. Got catering for my club a couple of time. Once they didn’t do the order exactly like we’ve asked but I understand because my friend ordered the minute off and I don’t think it was enough time for them to crank out that much food in such a time. Chicken always tasty with the right crunch, and my friend got me addicted to that mash potato! Get a gallon of sweet tea to drink for the week. Always so sad that they make my order too quick so I end up overbudgeting travel time and have to wait for the bus forever.
