Today was my first time going to Peet’s and unfortunately I did not leave satisfied. I ordered a black coffee, which was fine, and a pumpkin bread which was not. I couldn’t even finish the bread. In a city like Boston with so many options, Peet’s is outclassed by both international coffee shops and local coffee shops alike.

This Peet’s is shared with a Jamba Juice(yay two things I love!) It’s never crowded, and my go-to study area when the library is crowded. Not sure if I’ll be coming back as often as I did because I won’t be living in International Village anymore, but I’ll definitely make a trip once in awhile. Coffee is pretty solid, and their pastries are fresh. Pretty nice when you want to rush to class but don’t want to waste a swipe on a dining hall coffee(also much better quality… dining hall coffee is nasty). In the afternoon, I like studying at the Jamba Juice but still hearing coffee beans grind(and the fruits of Jamba Juice grind). White noise helps me study more effectively.

It’s a Peet’s!, No, it’s a Jamba Juice! No, it’s a Peet’s…Wait a second, it’s a Peet’s AND a Jamba Juice! My favorite coffee break getaway. I’ll stop here with a friend for coffee, and she can go to the next counter, the Jamba Juice counter, for a smoothie, which she swears are awesome. The coffee is as good or better than Starbucks, they switch up the specialty coffees and pastries now and then, and you’re likely to see free samples of the pastries laid out on the counter. Everything’s always spotless clean, and the employees are always friendly. The service could be faster, it seems to take a long time to get a latte sometimes, but there’s rarely a line. When we have our orders, we can go kick back on the big comfy chairs way in the back. There’s a lot of room there, the tables aren’t too close together, so you can talk shop or gossip without intruding on others. The big floor to ceiling windows make it seem even bigger and brighter. Not the place to meet if you’re driving; there’s no place to park around here! But it’s right in front of Ruggles Station in the new Northeaster University building, very easy to get to be the T. Would it be cheating if I copied and pasted this review for Jamba Juice?

I love their coffee but had never been into a store. Worst chai latte I’ve ever had. It lacked all flavor and it took a while when I was the only customer on line.

Great place but the neighborhood is NOT Mission Hill. It’s Roxbury. Why lie as if there’s something wrong with Roxbury, which by the way Mission Hill used to be called a long time ago. I’m just saying… other than that I really like this place and the Jamba Juice at the counter next door. Great place to get a pick me up in the afternoon!

6am Tuesday morning… After jogging through Northeastern University, I so happen to stumble across Peet’s… What a day this has become! I walked in knowing that I was the first customer of the day! She said, I saw you coming! We immediately burst into a conversation, in which i started rattling about I was from the Bay Area… REALLY… Oh, by the way, can i use my complimentary card from the Bay Area and upgrade to a large? She said, this one is on me today… I gave her a hug…

The highlight, legit, is really the people who work here: Mel, Estella, Nilza, Nate and Vanessa. They are fun and friendly, leave out samples(!!!) and bend over backwards to make sure you’re happy. They are the perfect pairing to morning/lunch and afternoon coffee! One of the best Peet’s I’ve been to.

The high mark is mainly for its location as a nice place to chat with friends and colleagues. Very bright lighting(due to its large windows), corner location, proximity to work, all contribute to this. I can only comment on the pastries, which are a little less than stellar — dry, imported probably in a van or truck from who knows where. But an upgrade over starbucks, Dunkin’, etc.

This was my first introduction to Peets coffee. It is so nice to have a better option than Dunkin Donuts for about the same price 100% better customer service and quality. The employees at this Peets are incredibly welcoming and friendly. They make it a joy to order my morning coffee. Unfortunately, this establishment does not accept Peet’s cards. Also, I highly recommend trying their lunch options.

I work in this building, so I am extremely happy to have a coffee option ofther than the crappy dunkin donuts in ruggles station that ALWAYS screws up my order… usually by trying to give me a large iced cup of heavy cream with what looks like 10 sugars… On the other hand, Peet’s makes a pretty decent coffee, and the samples of their iced caramel lattes were pretty good. Wahoo good coffee. Oh and there is a new Jamba Juice at this same location. The sites are a part of the new office/dorm/dining building on the edge of Northeastern’s campus.
