Nice breakfast/brunch spot with great servers and simple yet unique food. I tried the Benedict in bed, which was a poached egg inside French toast drizzled with hollandaise. It was really good and I loved the sweet and light savory flavors combined. Looking forward to trying their other Benedicts and creations!

I was advised to call ahead, upon arrival I was rudely told to stand on the street. 30 seconds went by & they called my name, we walked in the Restuarant & the waitress started yelling for us to go back outside, we hadn’t waited long enough. Needless to say, we didn’t stay at this horribly rude establishment. Maybe you can actually make it to the dining table, I’ll never know… Does Boston have any breakfast eateries???

I was looking for a good brunch spot and found this place on Unilocal. Most of the reviews mentioned a wait time over 40 minutes. That was not the case for my friend and I. Our wait time was probably 20 minutes. The secret, a lot of people put their names down and leave after they are told 40+ minutes. The food was pretty good. I ordered the a pomegranate mimosa and corned beef Benedict. It was my first time trying bother of the things I ordered. I wanted to try the lobster Benedict after reading all the reviews and seeing pictures on Unilocal but I was not trying to spend too much that day. I was happy with my choice. Reasonable prices. I’ll defiantly go back. I might give it 5 starts then.

With their huge menu, I felt right back at home in a NY diner. We stopped in for Saturday brunch to find the restaurant packed around noon. There was an hour wait, so we put our name on the list and roamed the North End. The restaurant is pretty close to Hanover Street, so you can pre-brunch with some of Boston’s famous cannolis. Once seated, the service was super quick. We started with a cinnamon roll. The roll was lathered in icing and topped with a generous sprinkle of cinnamon. We followed the roll with the North End omelette which had lobster, truffle oil, parmesan, and chives. I can’t remember the last time I has such a savory omelette. I appreciated how accommodating the staff was.

This place is so ridiculously good. I came here with friends after a wild night out and wanted one thing and one thing only– delicious food(and maybe a few mimosas) and this place did not disappoint. We came on a Saturday morning and there was a bit of a wait(25 minutes), but I knew that going into it. Location: Great area, especially, if, like me, you’re not a local. Really easy to walk around the city before or after. Service: Excellent. Our server was great, and even if she hadn’t been, the place is pretty small, so it’s really easy to just yell across and ask for something :-). Drinks: we had a carafe of the blood orange, limoncello mimosa. It was aight. Came out a little warm, but our girl hooked us up with an ice bucket, so all was well. I recommend just sticking with the plain mimosa or trying a Bloody Mary, as it looked amazing. Food: I can’t even. It was so good. Nutella French toast sticks were delicious. We also ordered a fruit bowl, which was HUGE. Between 3 people, we still couldn’t finish it. Also, most of the times in diner-esque restaurants, the last thing you want is their nasty, straight out of the can fruit. Not here– the fruit is so fresh. My main entrée was eggs Benedict with French toast instead of an English Muffin. First bite was interesting, but then it was amazing. Worked perfectly. It just so happens that I’ve also been here on an early Tuesday morning and there was no wait, so if you can, that might also be a good time to check it out, because it’s definitely worth it.

The ideal brunch spot! So many fun options for French toast and pancakes it was hard to choose. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal, the waitress was friendly, and prices weren’t too bad. However you NEED to make reservations if you are looking to brunch on the weekends. Space is limited, but the wait is worth it!

What an amazing little brunch spot. Tiny, so make a reservation or do what we did and come as soon as they open. We had coffee(quite good coffee actually, strong and rich, not watered down) and they brought out gratis banana bread which was moist and tasty. Then the show stoppers: cannoli pancakes for me and French toast Benedict for Nerissa. Both were exceptional(the pancakes were rich, but that should make sense since cannoli filling is in them!) and we didn’t even try the signature lobster Benedict. Next time!

I had a Boston Crème pancakes and they were delicious. We started with Mango Mimosas and they were strong and tasty. We followed this with the Lobster Egg Benedict and the salty & sweet sandwich. We couldn’t decide what to eat. I thought the salty & sweet sandwich was blah. The Lobster Egg Benedict was ok. I was just surprised the bill came out to $ 85. Don’t get me wrong the food was good but expensive.

This place was awesome! I came on a busy Saturday for Brunch. Although I X came solo, the bar was packed. I wanted for about 20 minutes before being seated. It was WELL worth the wait. TODRINK: I ordered a Mango Mimosa and then a Blood Orange Mimosa. Both were good, but I prefer the Mango over the Blood Orange. TOEAT: I got greedy and placed 2 orders. I had the Lobster Omelette which came with home fries and toast. The omelette was filled with Lobster. I was so full. The fries were the best I’ve had in Boston. I also got the Buffalo Mac and Cheese. I only took a few bites but it was creamy and had just enough kick to do the job! I’m definitely going back soon. I even told my co-workers about the North End Grille!

I’ve been wanting to hit the North Street Grille for brunch long before it ended up on the Mass Unilocal’s 48 Things To Do In 2016 list. Okay, okay, a couple of days prior. One rainy Saturday became my chance. I took the hint and submitted my name via call ahead, but the waiting lunch crowd had cleared out by the time my dc belatedly arrived. North Street Grille is located on North Street(imagine that!), a short distance from Mamma Maria. They had limited bench seating outside beneath a narrow awning for the convenience of their overflow. Inside, besides the bar seating, were 3 booths for parties of 5 – 6, a line of 6 tables along the wall that could be easily pushed together as needed and another 2 tables in the middle of the room. Yes, somewhat limited. I suspect our order may had been misplaced or something because it took over half an hour for us to receive the first of our order after we had had completely decimated the three supermoist small cubes of complimentary banana bread set between us, while the tables around us were served more promptly. The full order of Chunky Monkey Pancakes $ 11.50 chocolate chunks, walnut, banana arrived three thick large flapjacks to an order with butter and real maple syrup. It looked rather well filled, but it didn’t quite convert to taste. Without the syrup, it wasn’t really a sweet breakfast dish, with only a scant scattering of chocolate bits. The Single Banana Bourbon French Toast $ 5 made up for the pancakes. It was sweet enough to be dessert and was delicious. Quite up my alley! The Loaded Mashed Potato Omelet $ 12 bacon, chives, sour cream, cheddar sounded so good to both our ears, but when I flipped open my half of the omelet, I found the twin thick eggy halves to be nearly void of the mashed root vegetable, with but a bit decorating a corner of it, while my dc was happily finishing the last bites of her spud stuffed portion. So my tip is to open your omelet up upon arrival and to spread the good stuff throughout before tucking in. With large portions of pretty good food at a decent price, they have my 4th fan star. Note that they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. And I’ve heard it said that their burgers are worthy. [Review #1200]

Don’t come here if you’re super hungry, because it’s almost a guarantee you’re gonna have to wait for a table. The seating inside is very limited, so much so that they even take names for the bar tops. Our wait for two people was about 20 minutes around noon on a Friday. We ended up seating at the bar because we didn’t want to wait any longer. Our waitress/bartender was really sweet and attentive. She was just one of those employees who actually enjoyed her job which is always nice to see. She recommended the sweet and salty mac and cheese which comes with bacon and apples. I was slightly hungover and very tired so I went with that. My friend ended up going with the lobster omelette which came with truffle oil. It also came with a toast and a bagel and she went with a bagel. I loved my mac and cheese! The portion was filling, but not TOO big where you leave feeling like you ate too much. Apples and bacon make a winning combo. My friend liked her omelette but said the truffle oil was overwhelming. Also, the bagel that came with her food looked like it was a generic cardboard bagel. I think this restaurant is worth checking out if you have the chance.

The hype is real people. Everything about this place is amazing. We got seated right away for our noontime reservation and our waitress was so so great the entire time, so sweet and funny :) We started with the peanut butter French toast sticks which were gone in about 30 seconds(so tasty). I got the pulled pork eggs Benedict… and I am a frequent eggs Benny consumer so it’s saying a lot when I tell you this is the best I’ve ever had! My friend and I split a plate of the Nutella and strawberry French toast which was also really great. The rest of our table enjoyed their omelettes, pancakes, and hashbrowns. Drinks were good, prices aren’t too high, excellent service and AMAZING food. What more could you ask for?

Came here for brunch at around 12:30PM on a Sunday with two others. I had tried calling the night before to make a reservation, but no answer. Left a voicemail asking to make reservations, but didn’t get any response. Called in the morning to make a reservation for the day of but was told they don’t take reservations unless they’re for 6+, but you can apparently call ahead about 30 – 40 mins before your arrival to be put on the wait list. That didn’t quite work out for us because your call still needs to be answered to achieve this, but our wait was about 30 mins anyway. They were very, very crowded in a smaller space so the wait time was very impressive, in my opinion. To start, we ordered a pitcher of the drink special for the day: mango mimosa. Because nothing is ever good enough for me and I want a little of everything, we asked if they could make it a mango grapefruit mimosa, to which they obliged! +1 for versatility right off the bat, and the mimosa? +1 for that too. I ordered the crab cake benedict with boursin cheese added. SO ordered chocolate chip pancakes, and BFF ordered the lobster omelette, with cheese and peppers added to the home fries. The crab cake benedict was good — the English muffin not only did not resemble a hockey puck, but was crusty and soft at the same time. The hollandaise sauce was smooth, as expected, and the cheese added another layer of flavor. The crab cake was mostly crab than cake(no complaints there) and the eggs were poached perfectly. The lobster omelette was executed well, with the lobster still remaining tender and flavorful despite easy possibility of the meat becoming overcooked. The home fries had a crunchy exterior without being burnt or too dry and adding tabasco and ketchup all over it just took it to the next level. The loaded home fries were enjoyable as well, but personally I probably would stick to just regular home fries next time. The chocolate pancakes were superbly fluffy and were like pillows of clouds. I’m not even a pancake person at all, but I could see myself eating a pancake or five. Service was very prompt and professional, which was impressive given how packed they were. Our server was even attentive enough come back over and refill our almost-empty mimosa glasses for us while we were too busy with boozy conversation to refill them ourselves. Paying the bill was more high-tech and thus quicker than the traditional method — our server gave us her tablet which displayed our bill and we had it all to ourselves to swipe our cards, add tip, sign, and either print or e-mail ourselves the receipt. Food, service, menu offerings, and ambiance were all very good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting and will be sure to go back when I’m in the area.

Wait is there a way to give a place less then one star? If there was I totally would. 1. They don’t take reservations unless those are for more than 6 people. Somehow they take select calls and get people on the list(not everyone). 2. Wait times are absolutely ridiculous. Yes, that includes no heat lamps. 3. Interior looks a bit filthy. They also won’t let you wait inside. With some many options around, this is not the one to choose.

I have lived in the North End for 6 years. I’ve always heard rave reviews about the food. especially weekend brunch! There’s always a long line, so I tend not to want to wait. This past Sunday, my friend and I ventured out for a later brunch. There was only one couple in line outside waiting. They confirmed it was only a ten minute wait. Score! Time to try this place out! If the food is like the service, it is to be desired, I tell ya! I walked in and stood by the door for a good minute+. The bartender was doing her thing, waitresses were walking around doing their thing. Nobody looked up to even pay attention. I tried to make eye contact but was clearly ignored. So, I walked into the restaurant(a whole 3 steps) and approached a waitress who was at a wait stand. She looked like she had just rolled out of bed, by the way. I asked her if I need to put in my name. Without looking at me, she asked if I already had my name in. I replied that I did not and I have been standing here for a minute or so and that I would like to put my name in. She then proceeded to pick up the clipboard which had a list of names on it, assuming the list of names for the brunch wait from the day. She picks it up, looks at it, then drops it and says«Well, I’m not the hostess», and walks away. UNBELIEVABLE. Talk about a bad experience all from a server who wasn’t in the mood to serve or be pleasant, to say the least. Nor bother to brush her hair after she rolled out of bed. It’s really too bad!

Went here for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. It was empty. So I guess all the people saying it’s so full are there on the weekends. The place isn’t really anything special as far as interior is concerned. Actually looks like it could use some renovating. But our waitress was really sweet. We ordered 3 dishes to share — waffles with strawberries and cream, blueberry pancakes and apple cinnamon French toast. It was way too much for us! What a shame! But it was good. My tip: if you’re not a big eater, share two dishes. The apple cinnamon French toast was especially big and very sweet and sticky and extremely filling.

Visited Boston for the weekend and googled some recommended brunch spots and this came up. Definitely worth the praise. We waited over an hour for a seat when we were quoted for 30 minutes but no biggie. I will say this place is really small — like uncomfortably small. We did also have dirty silverware and not like dishwasher stain dirty silverware — crusty food silverware. Aside from these 3 things I would highly recommend this place(hence the 5 stars because shit happens). I got the french toast sticks to share which was amazing. They had a certain twist to them. There was a sweet crunch which I think was almond but I’m not too sure. Either way they were crispy and really tasty. Then for my final plate I got the Lobster Benedict and it was really great. From the egg to the lobster it was perfect. Huge chunks of lobster as well. Drink wise my friends got the Apple Cider Mimosa and I opted for water. They seemed to like the Mimosa so I believe it was a good choice on their part. Aside from that to keep it short & brief. If you are in the area and you’re looking for a brunch spot check this out. It was well worth the money and definitely delicious. A tip would be to call ahead and put your name down so you’re not waiting(I believe I saw you can do this). If not the food is good and worth the wait in my opinion.

This is a little place with usually a long wait. It’s also a bit pricey and what I like to call a «boutique breakfast» spot. My daughter lives around the corner and we have been here a few times. That being said, the food is wonderful and never disappoints. They have wonderful selections of the kinds of things you probably wouldn’t make at home. Lots of omlets, pancakes and eggs benedict variations. I had an egg and cheese sandwich with the most delicious breakfast potatoes. Just plain yummy. They are fried potato chunks-plain but scrumptious little puffs of potato, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I chose the dark rye toast and it was fresh and very good. We were a party of 4(starbucks & dunkin lovers mix) and all loved the coffee. The waitresses are courteous and efficient. Great little spot for foodies to try in the North End!

Came here for lunch/first meal of the day. Hunger level: very hungry. Pleasantly surprised by the portion on the lobster roll sliders! Three sliders is equivalent to one and a half lobster roll entrée in Canada. Needless to say, I underestimated portion size and ordered way too much food. Had the Boston Crème French toast sticks as well, but didn’t taste much like a Boston crème — not enough crème for my liking. Next came the grilled cheese bites — omg, delicious. I would go back for these. Lastly, an egg Florentine. Nicely poached eggs and spinach. Home fries however was on the burnt side. Would definitely come back and recommend anyone to come!

Three things happen when you plop down at North Street Grille: 1. You find yourself wanting too much on the menu. 2. You physically feel your ass getting bigger as you continue to review what’s on the menu. 3. You realize you are no longer in Midwest America when you see a cup of coffee is $ 3. But you get one anyway. BECAUSEIT’S COFFEE. You can almost feel the inflammation from ungodly sugar consumption surging through your body just by perusing their indulgent French toast menu. Banana bourbon French toast. Strawberry French toast. Banana Nutella French toast. Stuffed French toast. Apple cinnamon French toast. Peanut butter French toast. Cinnamon roll French toast. Raspberry cream cheese French toast. That’s not all. Warning: these full servings of French toast are MASSIVE. If your glucose levels are kinda high to start with, you’ll likely need an insulin pen or EMT on standby as this is a trough of satisfying and sugary deliciousness. Totally recommend getting the FT as a side or splitting a sweet and a salty dish with a friend. This place slips a star because breakfast/brunch ends up like $$$$$. Yep, it still tastes great… but it’s like $$$$$ once you tally it all up. Oh yeah, if you’ve ever struggled to convince someone to give you a lap dance, you should get pretty close here. You’ll probably have someone close to sitting on top of you here since it’s a tiny little place with very limited seating. So… 1. Show super early or… 2. Bring a portable cain/chair combo for a sit while you wait in line or… 2. Feed your hangover somewhere else with a shorter line.(Does«short brunch line» even exist anywhere in America???) Prepare for gluttonous mixed– drink– and– French– toast glory!
