Came back yet again, at 2pm for breakfast on a Saturday afternoon. There were a few tables taken but nothing crazy. sat at one of their high top tables and we both ordered the large breakfast, once again, it was extremely delicious!!! street parking along side the building was easy to find this time around. I was running short on time and although I didn’t mentioned anything the breakfast came to our tables about 7 minutes after we ordered. the chef perhaps also manager took a second to stop by and ask how was everything. It was a great quick breakfast for sure.

This place is awkward and disgusting. I have even tried it multiple times because I thought a restaurant couldn’t possibly be that bad, and maybe it was having an off day. It was equally disappointing the following attempt. To the people who are wasting there money trying to make a place like that work: Nobody wants to eat in an East Boston alley next to an abandoned Funeral home.

Love this place!!! Eastie has been needing a place like this for so long. It has a great vibe and coffee shop-like feel. Craft beers, local spirits, awesome management and great food… what more could you ask for? This is our newest«go to» place when we want a nice relaxing night and occasional free live music to make it even better. They have a great relationship with Berkley musicians so the talent and free entertainment make this place even more of a hidden gem. Since opening they have been really taking feedback and have worked out some of the kinks and every time I find it’s better and better than the last time. P. S. Love the burgers and the gourmet tacos… soooo yummy!

SO unique. I’ve never seen a place quite like it. Think of a large room, with small rooms coming off(little tailors and shoe coopers). The main room has a bar and tables. You order at the register and wait for your food to be up. We grabbed some chairs at the counter and waited for our breakfast, while jazz music played. Great prices, solid food: the stuffed french toast(banana and strawberry) looked big and luscious, and I had the eggs and toast and pancakes(yum to everything). People brought their pups in and it was adorable. Everyone was happy and friendly, the waitresses knew everyone: this is my new place!

Great spot for a Sunday morning bite to eat and coffee. Relaxed, no frill ambiance makes it perfect for a casual breakfast. The staff are always so helpful and friendly. I’ve enjoyed all of the breakfast foods I’ve tried –omelettes, egg sandwiches, French toast. Over the summer we came for the Jamaican night, which was really cool. It’s not often you get jerk chicken cooked on the grill at a café in east Boston, so I appreciate the diversity of the place. Am obsessed with the cute outdoor seating too — there’s not enough of that in the city! I hope this place continues to do well and have cool theme nights like the Jamaican one that bring unique experiences to the community.

Went in on a Monday night since I was in East Boston to drop off my cousin at the airport. We had a great time, delicious Jamaican food, and a super-friendly crowd. Looking forward to returning!

Maverick has a laid back ambiance, awesome food, and is one of the few spots in eastie that hosts live music/open mics. Great spot to grab a morning coffee and breakfast, or afternoon drinks and a meal.

I love this place, the employees are friendly and attentive, you can really tell that everyone who works there cares about the success of the business. It has outdoor seating and is dog friendly! I went in for breakfast and got a breakfast sandwich with tomatoes and avocado plus home fries for $ 6! Totally affordable and delicious. Their dinner menu looked really yummy and affordable plus they have live music on Fridays. Definitely a good spot to hit up!

This place deserves 5 stars for effort and service alone. The owner is very attentive and the staff works hard to keep the place clean and the customers satisfied. A huge plus is the live music, it takes casual dining to a new level and makes it more cozy. It’s a small gesture that resonated with me and my boyfriend. The food is good, all made fresh. The grande plate is filling and not bad for $ 10. The Nutella French toast was heavy on the Nutella which is amazing because who doesn’t love Nutella, but it wasn’t really melted and was kinda chunky. Also I think this is better suited as a side because it is so small and only $ 5. Very happy this place is in Eastie, and that they work with local vendors. I’ll be sure to be back!

Seeing the place for the first time I didn’t think very much of it but I figured I’d give it a try! Best decision of my life! The burger was absolutely amazing. Ask for it jerk style, you will not regret it! Awesome

The best breakfast sandwiches and iced coffee! It’s a different set up than I’m used to, you get rung up fast food style but the food is brought to your table or handed to you if it’s to go. Reasonably priced yet delicious food, friendly and efficient staff, great beers on tap– what’s not to love?

What is not to love! The team at Maverick Marketplace Café is continuously working on providing our neighborhood with a true neighborhood bar/restaurant/music venue/coffee shop/brunch place /hang out. They are personable, know your name, if you are nice and awesome you get a hug and the service is super friendly, the food delicious, the drinks divine and the team always comes up with new seasonable drinks… I just had a ridiculously delicious pumpkin spice martini with whipped cream and a graham cracker crust that made me inappropriately gnaw on the martini glass to ensure no crumb gets lost. #notclassy Rumor has it that the beers are awesome and local(I don’t do beer). :) Disclaimer: This review has nothing to do with the fact that I won free lunch there and I NEVERWINANYTHING :)

We went here with a lot of friends on a Saturday night for drinks and snacks. There was patio seating –a lovely early fall night so we sat outside – as well as room inside. We considered the ginger chicken sliders, but my husband and I shared a cheese plate, generous selection of local cheeses, bread, and honey. Others of us had burgers, which looked fantastic. There are a variety of other choices, like jerk chicken, to go with the local NE craft beers and cider. I had the Downeaster cider. My friends said they have come here before for breakfast, for a great deal on breakfast sandwiches and cold brew coffee. Our gathering was part birthday celebration and part going away party. It felt very private. The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating to everyone, from asking what music we’d like to listen to – some nights there are live performances but not when we were there – to bringing out plates, napkins, and silverware for the cookie cake that a friend brought. Just can’t say enough about the great atmosphere, and how it helped make this already special evening feel even more special!

Excellent neighborhood joint that breaks the monotony of the Latin American food around Eastie(though I am not complaining! That’s stuff is great too!). It’s great to see some new variety in maverick square. In short, this place has a nice homey pub feel, serves excellent local beer, and offers really nice gourmet food. Price is right and staff are super friendly. Highly recommended. Why go downtown?!

I was staying nearby at the Hyatt Harbor and looking for some good, inexpensive breakfast places. Anyone who’s stayed at a Hyatt knows you don’t get a breakfast for under $ 20-$ 30, and frankly, the coffee situation at this hotel sucks. But enough about them… Like the reviewer before me, I was drawn in by a friendly young woman handing out samples of their iced tea. I’m not a tea person myself, but it was quite good, and refreshing after the 15 minute walk from the hotel. Once inside, I was greeted by the owner and another employee; two of the of the most friendly people I’ve ever met in my travels. They really made me feel at home, a nice change of pace for this particular trip. I ordered an egg, ham, & cheese breakfast sandwich on a bagel, and an iced coffee. First off, the breakfast sandwich is hands-down the best I’ve had in a long, long time. They made it fresh, and perfectly. I’m a stickler for breakfast sandwiches, and couldn’t have made this better myself if I’d tried. The iced coffee was equally delicious. They told me they cold-brew it for 16 hours, and get the beans from a local organic coffee roaster called Jim’s Beans(?). The results were obvious; smooth, not bitter at all, and full-bodied flavor. What a perfect way to start an otherwise crummy morning, and for a whole heck of a lot cheaper than if I’d eaten at the hotel. If Hyatt were smart, they should partner up with this café and start serving their food & coffee in the lobby for those of us who simply don’t want to pay $ 20+ breakfast every morning, but I digress. I only have one more day here in Boston, but will definitely be coming back tomorrow for another round.

Woooo! First review! Advertising definitely works. I was walking by this place and saw someone out front saying hello to people and pointing them inside to the café. I had just gotten off a redeye and was hanging out in the area looking for something for lunch. First off, the woman taking my order was very friendly. Blue hair, british accent, super cool. I ordered a caprese sandwich(mozzarella, tomato, pesto) and for $ 6, it was a pleasant surprise. The bread was thick sliced multigrain bread that was nice and soft, but still held up well to the moisture of the tomatoes. The tomatoes and mozzarella seemed pretty fresh, and the pesto was a good touch. It was really good. They were advertising the breakfast sandwiches, and if I hadn’t just eaten a donut, I would have seriously considered it. The menu had several other options like ham and smoked salmon, and on the other menu board I think they had a hot dog. Other than that, they seemed to have quite a variety of desserts/pastries available. Not quite sure if they were homemade, but enough of a selection to be intriguing. The place is not easy to see from the street, so I would not have known about it unless I had walked by and seen the sign or the woman standing outside saying hello. It’s a tiny counter towards the back, but it’s a cute little set up. A good place to stop by for a cup of coffee, a snack, or lunch. Good luck to this local business! BTW, if the owners see this, mozzarella is not spelled with a ‘t’.
