Damn this place closed before I got to write my review :(. Anyway, it was a good little shop with great coffee and baked stuff. I tried their latte and brownie and it was delicious. Sit outside like most people and people watch.

Enjoyable little coffee shop with good people watching. Hate it when my lattes taste a little burned though. The baked goods look tasty and they have a nice selection of loose tea.

Alright let’s face it. Coffee is not that great in the US. Actually, it’s not very good to be honest. Well, L’Aroma Café gives me hope. I had a latte(perhaps someday they might even have a flat white?) and it was not bad. not bad at all. L’aroma is a cute little café on Newbury. They have seating both inside and outside, which is perfect for hanging out on a warm and sunny day. They also offer a range of sandwiches and pastries. The staff are very friendly as well… A great spot to chill…

I always like to seek a local joint instead of the green mermaid, and was happy to come across L’Aroma. Friendly service and the lattes pack a serious caffeinated punch!

The atmosphere here is a little too hectic to be relaxing when it’s busy. Counter service is good but can be a bit disorganized ad you have multiple people running around back there trying to get your orders. All is forgiven when you dig in. Their drinks and confections are just different and unique enough to make them more interesting to me. I like that both honey and sugar water are available at the coffee station, as well as cinnamon and nutmeg(if vanilla sugar were there, it would be perfect).

$ 5 for a lemonade? Are you kidding me? I got the ginger hibiscus lemonade, which I guess is some specialty item that commands specialty price. But I’m still balking at the price. The outdoor seating area was nice for a summer day.

The french pressed coffee was really good! My husband had a banana nut cake that was also delicious! I’m going back for sure! And the music selection was also nice and not extremely loud(I hate loud music in restaurants), there’s no need for that. I really liked this place. Gonna try the sandwiches next time.

Your coffee is just ok, despite the raving reviews, I came and left disappointed. I never came back. The pretty design on my coffee just didn’t do it for me, i’d go elsewhere.

Good coffee. Good pastries. Friendly service. I emailed them about a misspelling of a pastry and they addressed it right away, which was cool. L’Aroma would have gotten solid 4 stars from me if it weren’t for the restrooms. I judge a place by the WCs. Their WCs were… gross and small. I don’t mind small, but having trash all over the floor and toilet paper rolls lying on various surfaces(incl floor) was not cool. Also the counters and walls were kind of dirty.

Warm inviting atmosphere. Great place to take a break on a rainy day. Pizza was better than expected. Crust was a step away from being crumby like quiche but it works for a small café like this. Buffalo chicken pizza was tasty. Pepper mushroom onion was ordinary but acceptable. Ordered a cortado(not on menu) and the guy seemed to know what I wanted; he described it as a wet macchiato. What I got was closer to a café au lait with lots of milk and zero foam. Tasted decent, not what I wanted, so I’d stick to their drink menu next time.

After my 2-hour commute from the Hartbeat(Hartford, CT, for those that don’t know) and trekking through Chinatown, I needed a warm place to park my buns upon my arrival to Newbury Street. I saw this cute coffee shop as I was strolling Boston’s prominent shopping boulevard and noticed that it was full of people. I needed to make some place for more liquid in my bladder and thought that I could probably do so if I were a paying customer. I sat down with my espresso macchiato in the crowded coffee shop and enjoyed the foot traffic as I sipped my baby mug of embalming fluid. As soon as I finished my drink, I hurriedly got up, to make room for others. My trip to the little girls’ room was pleasant, as it was clean and neat. Check out the funky sink, if you feel the urge to «go.»

You’re cold and tired after a long winter’s afternoon full of shopping. You’d love nothing more than a place to grab a quick bite or a steaming hot beverage. Well, you needn’t look any further than L’Aroma Café! You’ll have to look carefully to find it though, because it’s partially underground. Pretty much right across from H&M. Whether you’re in the mood for a croissant or something sweeter, you can’t really go wrong. The egg and cheese croissant is simple but delicious. If you’re craving dessert, make sure to try the Nutella cookie cups. Heaven. And don’t get just one. They’re small, and I guarantee you’ll be wanting another. Service is fast, even when it’s busy. If you can manage to get a seat by the window, you’ve got yourself some prime people-watching time. But it does tend to get really crowded and the space isn’t very big, so you may have to enjoy that hot cocoa and muffin standing up. Or get them to go.

Their Asian Chicken Salad is delicious and actually generous with the chicken. I almost never get pre-packaged salads because they are generally skimpy on the toppings, but I was not disappointed here. My friend even commented on how good my salad looked during class :) The White Chocolate Pistachio Scone is a pretty good deal($ 2.50 for a large scone) but was on the dry side. The flavors work well but I would prefer more pistachios and white chocolate chips. The cashier was also very nice and bubbly. I’ll be back!

Adorable café in the basement level of this swanky neighborhood. They serve coffee, pastries, soups, salads, and desserts. I picked up a little lunch of soup and salad. Prices are moderate and sandwich sizes were small. The best seating is in the upper level by the window where you can people watch the street. The lower end puts you facing the goods. Lots of people were hanging out working on their laptops, reading the paper, or getting a respite from a busy day of shopping. Clientele were definitely well off. No one seemed in a rush and no employees were rushing customers out. Bathrooms are spacious by Boston standards with dark wood, large mirrors, and door locks like airplanes. Accepts credit cards.

Man, I *love* this place. With an absolute passion. Prepare yoself for a really long love letter to L’Aroma. This was my favorite café back when I was in high school. I thought I was so cool, hanging out in a café on Newbury St. In those days, I didn’t even know what good coffee was, let alone could I come close to appreciating a well-made espresso as I do now. The coffee L’Aroma uses isn’t the best persay, but the technique is right on. My favorite drink to get here is the largest size of the macchiato. Every time I order, the barista always double-checks with me to make sure I know what I’ll be getting. It’s cute. Barista: «It’s not a Starbucks-esque macchiato… You know that right? Just a touch of foam… No milk… No sweeteners.» Me: «Yes, I know. That’s EXACTLY reason I come here, and not Starbucks! Oh, and can I have just a bit extra foam? Thanks!» Ahh. A perfectly made macchiato, and only for about $ 2.75! It’s a STEAL and made just the way I like it. I also highly recommend the Spanish latte if you’re lookin’ for something creamier, lighter and more warming for the cold weather. Also, the seasonal specials here are phenomenal. Always check the board to see what they’re brewing up. I had the BEST iced tea in the summer months… I wish I could remember what it was called! It was a whopping $ 5 for a small size cup, but I’ll be damned if it wasn’t the best iced tea I’ve ever drunk. The food and pastries here are pretty much hit or miss. It’s mostly prepared foods and cakes that have been sitting out for hours. The quiches here are always good though, so you can count on them. I love stopping by in the morning for a slice. Fluffy, eggy, well-seasoned and light. All that you can ask for in a quiche. I also adore the sitting area. The tables are gorgeous, and it’s a perfect area to sit back and chit-chat with a friend, or do some reading. I take French classes nearby at the French Cultural Center, and enjoy doing a bit of studying while sipping on a(perfectly made) drink. I never feel rushed and it’s a chill atmosphere. Not at all reflective of the ritzy-ness of Newbury St. Plus, there’s WiFi! I’m not completely sure if it’s THEIR WiFi that they provide… but I use it anyways… :) For quite awhile I was exploring different cafes in the Boston-area, and while I have found a few other spots I like to stop by every now and again, at the end of the day, L’Aroma is my absolute FAVORITE. It’s my old standby and always reliable. P. S. get a loyalty card! & they use LevelUp, so download the app and reap the benefits!

I was staying at the Westin Copley and checked Unilocal for a coffee place to go to in the morning. I decided to stop by this place before shopping along Newbury Street. I ordered a triple shot Americano along with a Lemon Dill Smoked Salmon sandwich. The Americano came out creamy, but I would’ve preferred a stronger taste to it. The smoked salmon sandwich had less salmon than I would’ve liked as well as too much of the lemon dill spread. This is a cute little café that is conveniently located on Newbury Street. However, if I’m ever back in the area I wouldn’t go back to this one and would want try out other cafes instead.

I really liked the atmosphere of this place. Cramped wooden tables, but a really cozy setting and it’d be a great place to pull out a paper and read through the morning. Things to commend: Service was great. The chap was cheerful, generous, and extremely helpful when it came to providing suggestions. Now on to the purchased goods! Got the Hazlenut hot chocolate with soy which was a beautiful compliment to the cold weather. The steam rising from our mugs helped WARM our frozen red cheeks and hands! We also ordered a chicken salad sandwich which was also delightful. They also had a variety of sandwich options, muffins, mint macarons, banana breads, coffee cakes, spinach quiches etc. the list goes on! unfortunately, we wanted to save our stomachs for lunch, so we did not explore any further.

Scones are somewhat of a mystery. Purposefully dry, but just enough to rock the crumble and still be palatable. Seemingly easy to muck up, so when you find one that works, it sticks out like a thumb/pinky combo* at a surfer convention. The white chocolate pistachio scone at Café L’Aroma works. Ridiculously well. A perfect complement to their refreshing hibiscus lemonade/black tea Arnold Palmer, which, by the way, was under-charged favoring the tea price. The charming cashier actually rang in the lesser price for the mixed bev. Faith in mankind, restored. Terrific people-watching on Newbury, an inviting interior, a serious affinity to proper tea prep and the understandably constant line make L’Aroma a must try. The step-up service is definitely the nudge that brings a 4 star café to 4.5. And where they round down, I round up. * A visual legend. \mn/= Hang ten, brah. ImI = Metal, brah.

Best damn coffee/espresso/lattes in Boston. Creamy milk, latte art, strong punchy espresso that will get you going! Maybe the best tasting cappuccino’s I’ve ever had in my life and they are consistent. If I sit here long enough I can hear up to 10 different languages in one da all while sitting outside enjoying the view of Newbury. P. S.(They have nice bathrooms too!) What I want to know is… L’Aroma, why haven’t you found me a French boyfriend yet? I’ve been coming here for years.
