Self-described diehard bahn mi fanatic, and this is one of the tastiest versions I’ve ever had. And at $ 4 per sandwich, this is easily at the top for the best bang for your buck meal in the city of Boston. You read that right, $ 4.

Bread is very chewy!!! 2nd attemp I ask for it to be toasted, she reassure me its FRESH. Still chewy so I dont come here for banh mi any more. might try again years later if they are around.

If you want expired goods(such as the jelly by the windows, crackers in the aisles, ingredients used to make sandwiches), crappy service, rude grumpy employees who refuse to refund you for expired items you bought at their store, then check this place out! FYI, I am Asian so I am used to extremely crappy and dirty restaurants and stores and have a high tolerance for filth. But very low tolerance for rude service. Especially if they are selling expired items. Seriously, go now and check out the buckets of jelly. They taste like chemicals, yay! But, the shrimp toast is okay! If you wanna eat a pound of grease and fake shrimp, that is.

Mmmm, bubble tea. Good Binh mi and a nice buffet selection to pick from for lunch or dinner. Fresh French baguettes are $ 1 and they have a small retail section too.

I wanted to love this place, but I just didn’t. I am used to the crunchy bread on a banh mi that leaves me littered in crumbs. This was chewy in a way the bread on a banh mi should not be. The bbq beef in my sandwich was huge and had a lot of fat on it. It also did not have a flavor that would keep me coming back for more. I asked for extra spicy and was treated to 6 long slices of jalapeño. Mmmmmm I had to take some off because it was overkill. The spring rolls here were okay, but the peanut sauce that came with them was VERY watery. Next time I will stick with Ba Le.

Have lived in Dorchester less than a year. This was one of the first places I found. I love it! Never had a Vietnamese sandwich until I found this place. People there are always nice. Many know little or no English, but that has never been an issue. Desserts are good too. One day will try their meals. The mango smoothies are out of this world!

This new shop has a lot going for it. First of all, the setup is super customer friendly and you get a good view of the foods they offer because they are ALL behind a big piece of glass right where you order. I’ll admit I am quite partial to Banh Mi Ba Le down the street, so while I did like the banh mi here, I didn’t love it. The beef was tasty, but it wasn’t sweet like I’m used to but more salty. The bread was very chewy and not very crusty. Also, they did not put very much picked veggies or cilantro in it but luckily last time I went to Ba Le, I picked up a package of pickled veggies so with that addition, it was great! I picked up a couple of egg rolls and a sesame roll and they were both pretty good. I’ll be back to try more food but for now it is aaaaalright.
