Came here for a quick lunch on my break from work and I was surprised to see how many people were inside. It looks small on the outside but it was definitely busy inside I ordered their lunch special chicken pad Thai and a tom yum soup. The pad Thai was surprisingly good, not too sweet like how other places make it. I had asked them to make it spicy and it was the perfect level. The soup was very good, and it has now become by new favorite place to get this soup in Boston. Usually restaurants make it too sweet and add too many tomatoes, but this place makes it perfectly sour and spicy.

Wow. Treated very poorly on the phone. Embarrassed for Thai culture and people because of rude and unacceptable behavior on phone. Sorry. I hate leaving a bad review. Maybe she had a bad day. Food was decent.

Really wanted to like this one. Nice ambiance, love the Christmas lights and flowers, but smelled like a newly bleached bathroom. Really overpowering. Seated and orders taken quickly, but trying get attention of waitstaff during was more difficult because take out orders took precedence. Thai iced tea yummy. Tom yum soup was warm not hot, but decently flavorful. Also got basil fried rice– supposed to be spicy, we asked for super spicy… It was not spicy. It was also lukewarm. Also got Pad Ki Mao, that was ok, served hot, but unremarkable. Food overall wasn’t very flavorful… But that could be because of the bleach/cleaner smell.

Its okay… after spending a month in thailand and getting a hankering after being home, the green curry was sour and disappointing.

Went here last night with the boyfriend to grab a quick bite to eat for dinner. It was a Monday, so the place was pretty empty and we were seated right away. To start off the meal, we decided to go with the veggie spring rolls. It came with 5 small rolls, which were decent, but didn’t have a ton of flavor. For our main courses, we decided to split an order of the chicken pad thai and the chicken with cashew nuts. The chicken pad thai was cooked well, but it just had an overall odd flavor to me – I couldn’t even tell you what it was, but it was probably one of the least favorite pad thai dishes that I’ve had. The chicken with cashew nuts was better, but even so, the chicken was very thin and a bit overcooked – and much like the other dishes, lacked a bit of depth in the flavor department. Overall, this place has friendly service and the food comes out quickly, but the quality of food just doesn’t have me pining to come back any time soon.

We found this place by walking up and down Tremont street after discovering that the brunch place we were originally going to had already stopped serving brunch. At 4pm we decided we should probably give up on the idea of finding a place still serving omelette and pancakes. Damnit! I liked the appearance outside and inside, and it was quiet and serene with only a few people dining in. I ordered hot tea, needing to warm up after walking around on such a cold and windy fall day. For my meal I ordered the Tom Yum Soup and the Thunder Chicken and asked the waitress to add Shrimp and make it super spicy. My friend ordered the Chicken Basil and Chicken Fried Rice. She forgot all about my tea, only after I finished my soup did she remember and bring it. The Tom Yum soup was good and I really enjoyed it. However, she brought my friend’s two dishes out and I was left waiting for my chicken for about 10 minutes. When she did bring it out, there was no shrimp and my dish was not«very spicy» in the slightest. When I called her over to let her know that the shrimp I asked for wasn’t there, she looked confused and then apologized and went back to the kitchen. A minute later she came back and said that she was sorry and that if I ordered the shrimp that it would be extra. I had already assumed that would be the case, but by this time I was really hungry and irritated and just wanted to eat instead of more waiting. She should have told me it was extra from the beginning, which I would have been fine with, and brought the shrimp out like I ordered. Overall I would not come back because of the forgetfulness and lack of service. My friend’s food was fairly spicy but mine was lacking even after specifying that I wanted it very spicy. When we left the restaurant no one acknowledged us or said goodbye and thank you.

We ordered take out on a Sunday night from this South End thai eatery. We got the fried siam dumplings and two orders of drunken noodles(one with beef and the other with chicken/shrimp). Dumplings were miniature, but there were quite a few of them and winded up being very tasty. Both noodle dishes were enormous and tasted great. We ordered the noodles with a side of chili paste to kick up the spice level. What we enjoyed most about the noodles, in comparison to other thai places, was that the noodles did not have that greasy gravy sauce on them. The sauce was very light so the meal didn’t weigh you down. Great spot for take out and will definitely be trying it again.

Delicious chicken and basil dish, friendly and prompt service, excellent and affordable lunch combinations! Warning: when they say spicy, they mean spicy.

This review is for take-out only. We ordered pad thai and pad see yew to go. The person at the counter was busy playing with her phone so she really didn’t pay much attention when came in to pick up the order. The pad see yew was a bit dry and overcooked. The pad thai noodles were a bit bland and overcooked. Definitely had higher expectations for a South End restaurant.

I’ve been here a few times now. This is possibly the best Thai in Boston. My favorite dish is the Basil Chicken Fried Rice; whenever I bring it to the office everyone comments on how great it smells. I love it here.

NoooOoOOooOoOoOOoo. No. House of Siam, you might’ve been great in your day, but today, you are not. There are 2 locations & I gave this location a go on my lunch break because I was craving those Americanized crab rangoons & some crispy pad thai. So much disappointment, I just don’t know why I gave them another shot. I learned my lesson, never again unless it’s the only place open & there’s a snowstorm & … I’m just really hurting for food. Service: Not remarkable; neither overly friendly & pleasant or rude. Food: Ordered crab rangoons & they were the worst crab rangoons I’ve ever had in my life. I made some with Josh G. a few days ago just because I haven’t had any good ones in a long time. They’re not that hard to make: it’s fake crab meat, cream cheese, & wonton wrappers, maybe some seasoning. Do you know what HoS gives you? A creamy puff of cream cheese with some curry in a wonton wrapper. Crabmeat not present. I also got the crispy pad thai & asked them to make it spicy. Was it spicy? No. Was it flavorful & delicious? «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» Too oily & overall not that great. Prices: It’s actually expensive considering it’s not that great. I’m disappointed & I miss those hole in the wall Thai restaurants in SoCal that gave you so many things for like $ 10& it was all amazing. I wouldn’t recommend HoS. I’ve had better Thai food in Boston & it isn’t here. They gotta step up their game, maybe revisit their recipes or something because it’s just not cutting it.

Not the best Thai food I’ve had, but it’s hard to go wrong with Beef Pad See Ew and Tom Yum Soup. The service was OK and the atmosphere was OK as well. I’m a big Tom Yum soup fan and I thought they did a decent job, but it lacked something. The Beef Pad See Ew was really oily. I know this dish is to begin with, but this was even oilier than usual. Despite my little compliants it wasn’t a bad meal.

House of Siam is always good just not great and a little over priced. Their portions are really big so take out ends up being spread over two meals :) I really enjoy their Pad Thai and their Gyoza– delicious! I like their Thai Ice Tea as well. It’s an awesome dessert-ish treat. Other dishes are just ehh mediocre. Wanted to try something different and got this coconut milk based soup. It’s was NOT good. Their service is pretty good– really nice people. Place is cute and dimly lit for a intimate dinner. I would recommend it if you live close by and need a close goto Thai place for your Thai cravings. Good just not great.

My favorite Pad Thai in Boston. Served with plenty of chicken and shrimp! We also got the Chicken Dang-Dang — a hidden gem on the menu. Listed under the House Specialties, I’d describe it as a bowl of chicken in a thick curry-coconut soup, perfect for a rainy winter night when you need to warm up. There was a calm mood in the restaurant, and the service was prompt and polite. One warning about the prices: white and brown rice are extra with most specialty dishes. Won’t stop me from going back for those duck dishes on the menu though. Also, parking was tough, next time I’ll walk. In terms of pad thai in the area, I don’t believe there to be much competition.

Notice: the phone number listed for the 592 Tremont St location on Unilocal is actually the phone number for their location on 542 Columbus Ave. Now back to my review. Staff was very helpful and the delivery driver was kind enough to go to the correct restaurant to pick up my order and bring it to me. I ordered a dinner size vegetable pad thai it was exactly what my taste buds were waiting for. The portion size was large and definitely worth the money. I will visit again and I would recommend this restaurant.

I have ordered take out from House of Siam on many occasions– never disappointed. I recently made reservations for a party of 10, and found the in-restaurant experience to be equally pleasing. The staff person taking my reservation seemed slightly inept(or hard of hearing?), so I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the reservation existed when I arrived. We we seated immediately, and drink orders taken care of. Several members of my party arrived late, but the staff did not give us any hassle. The menu has enough options to suit carnivores and vegans alike. All members of my party said they enjoyed their meal, too!

I’ve been here twice and I am grateful to have a Thai restaurant close to where I live. This time I went for beef red curry and drunken noodle. The noodle dish is properly spiced — if you cannot handle spicy food, you may want to request a milder version. In my opinion, this dish should have two«hot peppers» instead of one on the menu. Generous portion for the curry plate. Other Thai restaurants serve it in a tiny bowl but as you can see in my picture, it is almost as big a ramen bowl.
