Watch out !! They charge more then what is written on the price tag! Not honest at all !! They never give a receipt as well. I went back home and checked what I bought. I should have paid 20 $ they charged me 41 $ !! Avoid or be careful !!

While walking past this establishment, you are curious to adventure into the bright green basement. As you walk in you notice curious tourists, interesting décor, and are welcomed by a very nice woman behind the counter. What comes after is very rewarding for your adventure. HIFC has some of the best falafel I have ever had in my life. Everything tastes very homemade and fresh, with authentic ingredients. My favorite thing to get is the falafel sandwich with pita bread. The pita bread has to be the height of a hoagie roll and once you take a bite it’s an explosion of awesomeness. By all means however, this is not a restaurant. There is a small section to sit down that sits about 3 people at the counter. This place is the delimitation of take out. I have bought varies spices from this place as well and they have always have been fresh. Cool spot to check out, great food, great service, and the kicker… it is very cheap.

Their steak and organic chicken are really good and fresh. I wouldn’t try their cooked food, a bit on then scary side to have a butchery and a kitchen next to each other.

Um woah, how could anyone know that this place exists? Its in a small strip of really run down looking places but don’t let that deter you, its usually those holes in the walls that have the best food. So I really, wanted something middle eastern, Unilocaled my way over here and was pleasantly surprised! I got a shawarma(chicken is all they had), some grape leaves, kibbeh and some hummus. Everything was really good. I am a huge fan of their kibbeh as well! The prices are decent, and the service was awesome.

No one has reviewed this place in a year so I’ll let you know this place is no longer worth 4.5 stars. I stopped by during my commute and it was empty at 12:15. Like, there were no customers and there was no one behind the counter until a woman came out noticed me. I ordered a falafel sandwich with spicy sauce and lentil soup and it was $ 6. The woman said their prices went up but they never changed the sign. Whatever, as long as the food is good, right? Pffffftt. The lentil soup was in a little cup not even 2⁄3 full and it looked and tasted like tomato soup. The sandwich was lukewarm, bland, and NOTSPICY. I paid with a ten and they didn’t have change. They were digging through their wallets. The guy offered me a free drink but I was just itching to get out of there, like the fly buzzing around their counter. Maybe it was a fluke but I’ll never know because I’m not coming back!

If you are in the Haymarket and you like authentic, cheap, Mediterannean street food, then you will basically be thanking your lucky stars that you have found this little basement utopia. Duck your head(I often forget, and a slight concussion often puts a damper on an otherwise lovely dining experience). Get the lentil soup. Get the lentil soup. Get the lentil soup. It’s that good. I’ve also gotten the falafel on numerous occassions, and the tzatziki sauce is heavenly. Yum. The chicken shwarma is also pretty banging. So is the lentil soup. The owner is the nicest man ever, and the second time I went in he asked what took me so long to return! Now he sees me more often than necessary, but what can I say? I love buying apples at the Haymarket and I love lentil soup. Get the lentil soup.

This place is awesome. The people that work there(i.e., Adib) could not be more kind and the food is delicious. Now its not in the greatest location and the décor is pretty shabby(a run down Middle Eastern grocery store) but if you can get past that, the food is excellent(tasty, affordable, and filling). A definite hidden gem. I’ll be back.

I agree 100% with Soham, definitely a hidden gem. I passed by the shop while buying groceries in Haymarket and saw that they sold Halal goat si I decided to take a look. The owner? took me into the cold storage and showed me the goats to choose from. He also helped me pick the right cut for the meals I was preparing(goat curry and mexican style goat tacos WOOOT). Awesome. My first goat experience. Not 100% sold on goat, but this place rules. Everyone was really nice and welcoming.

When you’re on the commuter train home as I am, you see riders eating a lot of crap(read: DUNKIN’ DONUTS), which is their prerogative. Me? I’ll have a $ 3 falafel or $ 4 chicken schawarma from this handy spot on my walk from the financial district to North Station. The menu features humble middle-eastern offerings made by an unprepossessing proprietor. The stairwell down into his establishment may look dodgy, but once you’re in, Adeeb’s friendly, low-key personality will put you at ease. I agree with Paul’s comment that you won’t burn your tongue on the falafels. You could mic it yourself if you are taking it home, or ask Adeeb to do it for you if you plan to eat on the train or while walking about. The guy’s easy, and where, I ask you, can you get a three-dollar-out-the-door *quality* sandwich within a mile of Quincy market? Even the guys down the street are charging a couple of dollars more for the same basic product. Bottom line: This place is five stars in my heart and wallet, but since it’s mainly take-out with limited offerings, I dialed it back a bit.

Went to Haymarket today during my lunch hour for some produce, and figured I’d grab lunch on the way back. When I saw the falafel wrap advertised for $ 3 I had to stop. It took a few minutes, but there was just one man(must be Adeeb from the other reviews) making the plates so I figured that. He let me sample some soup while I waited. As I walked through the market eating my falafel, I was pleasantly surprised with how tastey it was. Very good size for $ 3, I though I might still be hungry when I got back to the office, but I really wasn’t. Definitely worth grabbing if you are in the area. You won’t be sorry.

falafel good but a needed a little more warming up super cheap a huge large just $ 4($ 3 for a small) I hope this place is clean it’s sorta underground doesn’t look that clean. Going back tot he falafel well i don’t know in general if they are fried or not i hope not if not i want to eat that everyday in particular this falafel to be honest it was my first one ever so who knows if there is much better out there. What I put in my mouth was suprisingly good so I will be back to try shawarma. The owner is a really kind person very friendly and knows some english not perfect but it doesn’t matter he is a warm person and god the prices are so low in a high rent area not that street but that part of boston at least. Summary ultra cheap, good tasting, dirty needs to be cleaned up, really friendly service, located by parcel 7 garage so if you don’t work here just park and validate nearby. Bottom line go here especially if your wallet is not so heavy and you like good food.

Located in one of the subterranean stalls at the Haymarket, this place is a true hidden gem. Quick disclaimer: this is a hole-in-the-wall place which functions more as a take away than a restaurant. If you are a service snob, stay out of this place. But if you’re open-minded and looking for a cheap, delicious, home-made bite to eat: you’re there. On to the food… simple, tasty, and authentic are words that come to mind. Every visit is greeted by the warm presence of Adeeb, who patiently makes each dish from scratch. The falafel sandwich is on par with the best I’ve had in my life. I would recommend going around lunchtime as this is when they are freshest, sometimes even fried to order. Remember to ask for hots, but don’t expect it to be like other places with a tomato/garlic based chili sauce. This falafel is slathered with tahini, pickled pepper relish, pickled cucumber, parsley, tomato and onions. Truly delicious at $ 3 a piece! The lentil soup and hummus are also good. Middle eastern food, served simply and humbly, in a unique place with an interesting atmosphere. Be adventurous and give it a shot. Savor. Be better for it.
