Came here once for take out for lunch and was told to get the Frutta di Mare. Im so happy I did. The saffron rice and the sauce have a nice kick to hit that up the flavor and spice in every bite. Also, even for t go they don’t skimp on the seafood. Im talking mussels, shrimp, calamari, and scallops and an abundance of them. For a little under $ 18 its kinds a steal.

This is a bar. A bar that serves bar food at a good price for the area. I enjoyed myself, ate some delish Mac n Cheese and I had a beer. The server was friendly and the food was delivered promptly. It was great for a quick mid week bite after some ice skating. I would recommend this bar and restaurant.

decent food(my friend like the veggie option). The drinks were strong, and there were locals around which I liked. The bar was a bit sticky, and the restrooms could have used a once over. But late night eats did not go astray.

Visited for dinner and sat in outside patio. The service was good. The food was average. The clam chowder was terrible.

This place is blah. I had some happy hour appetizers from here. Buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, spring rolls and lobster things. It was alright. Waiter had a bit of a ‘tude as well.

I used to work next door and go here all the time, it’s a straight spot for some drinks and decent bar food. Good tips. Don’t expect mind-blowing culinary delights and you’ll do alright.

An A-OK spot in the heart of Back Bay. Easy to miss on Boylston Street, this spot has an outdoor patio in the warmer months and inside, plenty of tables and an upstairs balcony. I went for brunch and had a pretty tasty egg sandwich on an English muffin. The homefries tasted frozen, but my friend got fried potatoes and I was envious after trying a bite. I’ll definitely be asking for those over the homefries next time. Bonus that they have tabasco sauce. Nothing amazing, nothing bad with nice service and no wait at 2 p.m. on a weekend day(an off time, I know).

Would like to give more stars because some of the staff are nice. However, the bartender embodies the Masshole that is hated around the country. At least if he knew what he was serving, he would have a half reason to give an attitude. Unfortunately, he does not.

We stumbled upon this little restaurant/bar on Boylston Street while looking for a place to rest and relax after a day of walking in Boston. There is a small-ish patio that seats about 10 tables which looks out onto Boylston Street. They have a weekend brunch drink special that includes $ 5 for a bloody mary or mimosa. The bloody mary was actually pretty tasty with a good dose of pepper in the drink. Our service was mediocre and we had to order with the hostess(as she was sitting new tables) or inside the bar because we could never track down our waitress who would go missing for 15 minutes at a time.

If you’re really really hungry and there’s no where left in the world to go, I guess eat here. Bad food Bad service Soda flat, food crappy cheap food, McDonalds quality at best, no wonder it wasn’t busy at lunch time(and I thought we got lucky). NOPE! Stay away.

We came to early the restaurant not open yet, 10:50 but they kindly invite us in to wait 10 minutes before opening time because it’s raining. Service is excellent, lots of choice for breakfast, superb. Good value, atmosphere is fab and its local breakfast we looking for. Definitely recommend this place. 13th September 2015

Been here a few times for lunch and drinks after work. Not the best service. If you ask the waiter for drinks they tell you to go up to the bar. It also gets really loud after work so not a chit chat sort of place. Bar food is okay like any other bar.

Came here July 5th for a late lunch. We were the waiter’s only table. I got a veggie burger and my friend got a portobello sandwich. Waiter«Thomas H» was the worst server I’ve ever had… he: 1. Didn’t smile at all 2. Clearly didn’t want to be there 3. Took forever to come take our order 4. Had runner bring food; it was wrong; had to get food runner to get what I had modified 5. Allowed our diet cokes to sit empty 6. Never checked up on us 7. Never brought our check 8. Only brought our check when I got up from my table, walked to the back end of the bar where he was flirting with the blonde server also on duty, and TOLDHIM to bring our check after being done for 15 minutes. 9. Reluctantly refilled our diet cokes when I told the hostess standing near by to «go get our waiter» 10. Ruined the entire experience. Worst_____service_____ever in Boston.

The Globe does not even deserve 1 star… DONOTCOMEHERE! There are so many other better places close by. I came to the Globe another time before tonight and remember why I never came back. Tonight, I was here for some drinks and food with my running club. We called a week ago to make a reservation. The hostess tonight was not informed of our reservation so it took time to seat us. The service got worse from here. There was 15 of us and we wanted to break the group into a few checks but the waitress wouldn’t let us. I decided to just get a drink at the bar to be social. I headed down to the bar and waited 15 minutes before giving up. There was only one bartender and he did not acknowledge me or say that he would be help me shortly, no eye contact. A lot of us gave up and left because the service was horrible. The staff is not friendly. The food and drinks are nothing special either based on my other experience of coming here. I will never recommend or come back here again.

The best thing about our visit to Globe was that we had an awesome table right in the window, which was open it being a nice day. Very pleasant place to be. There were three people at the host stand where we checked in, it’s right outside the main entrance, at least in good weather. As one guy led us off to our table, the other fellow who was standing near him turned around an hocked a loogie onto the building behind him. Gross. I mentioned this to the host who seated us and he said he would talk to him about it. My husband thought I was crazy to mention it and said you better hope that guy doesn’t work in the kitchen, he’s going to spit in your food. Oh my. Hope that didn’t happen. Had a lobster roll and the lobster didn’t taste very fresh, maybe it even came from a can? Not sure. The husband had a beet salad, he said it was ok but nothing special. Actually the best thing about my dish was the coleslaw, which was perfect. The dressing was JUST right. Hopefully it was sans spit. Would go back maybe for just drinks.

Three stars seems pretty good for the Globe. I came about a week ago with my boyfriend and we sat outside on a beautiful day around 3pm for a late lunch. Service wasn’t fantastic or anything, but it was fine. Different people sat us, took our drink order, took our food order, brought out the food, and brought us our check — but it was all pretty timely. My portabello sandwich with a side salad and a glass of white wine was pretty decent! Didn’t blow me away or anything, but I’d eat it again for sure(and a generous wine pour! Always appreciated). My boyfriend had a bbq pork sandwich and he said it was decent, but not spectacular either. Would I come here again? Sure. Would it be top of my list? Not really.

Randomly stopped here on a weekend trip to Boston. Waiting for my hotel room to become available, two friends and I sat on the patio. We picked this place because it was next to a liquor store, so the expectations were low. The food was fantastic. Both of my friends ordered the steak tip sandwich, and said it was one of the best sandwiches they have ever had. Their fries looked good too. I ordered a prosciutto panini, and it hit the spot. Great bread, and exactly the type of sandwich that I have a hard time finding living in the south. Side salad was good too. The waiter was a little strange, and he seemed like a knucklehead, but overall I found this place to be a hit.

When I used to live in Boston, I would always pass by this café and never walk in. I think it’s because the sign is so vague and small. It would be nice if they made it colorful or in bold lettering somehow. My sister and I went there for brunch and I will definitely go back when in town. I had the most scrumptious crab cake eggs benedict. I subbed the grilled tomatoes and asked for mushrooms, green peppers, and onions instead and they didn’t mind! I’m glad I did that because the spices from the crab cake complimented the veggies. Biting into the veggies, crab cake, poached egg and english muffin soaked in hollandaise sauce was palatable. The potatoes on the side were very crunch and seasoned well. I had a bite of my sister’s breakfast quesadilla and it was an explosion of flavors for my tastebuds! From the pico de gallo to the jalapenos, eggs and cheese… great dish for breakfast. I ended it with a baked blueberry muffin which tasted fabulous :)

Ugh! Visited this place yesterday for Marathon Monday and was pretty disappointed. To start, I’d actually like to compliment them — I waited in a short line when I arrived just after 4p and upon entry the place wasn’t obnoxiously packed. They capped it so people still had room to move which warrants 1 Star. The service. Ugh, the service. There were two girls behind the bar near the back of the restaurant and one was loudly voicing that she should have been off by that time. The other girl would hide in a backroom next to the bar and make an appearance every 10 minutes or so. I waited about 20 minutes for one bottled beer. I hung out at the back of the restaurant and watched the girl that should have been off at that point continuously complain to a bar back — or some guy standing near the bar. He may have been an employee? He may not have? Not really sure since he seemed to hang out in an area where servers would pick up drinks but clearly wasn’t doing anything of significance or value for the venue. I live in the area and this restaurant/bar never comes to mind when going out as each visit has been forgettable. After yesterday I probably won’t be back seeing how their current employees handle(or can’t handle) a crowd.

I have been to Globe both for drinks and for lunch. When I stopped in for drinks with a large group, we went straight to the bar and were served promptly. The restaurant has a good vibe to it as well. I stopped in again a couple weeks ago with my brother for lunch. The food was average and unremarkable. I had the Latin BBQ pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. There was a heaping portion of pork on the sandwich, but it was just missing something in terms of flavor. The fries were good. I also have no complaints about the onion rings that I tried. My brother seemed to enjoy his Reuben sandwich. I will say that our server was very attentive and the food came out quick.
