Fruit Stand Outside Old South Meeting House

Call me crazy for reviewing a fruit stand, but darn it — they’ve got great fruit at great prices and the staff are always so helpful. How could I not review it? Starbucks and Cosi — you can keep your $ 1+ bananas, at Boston Fruit and Flowers (the real name of this fruit stand) you can get FIVE bananas for $ 2 and they’re fresh and tasty. The berry prices are also reasonable, and unlike in the supermarket I have yet to find moldy berries in the middle of the carton. I go here every week now for fresh fruit, the prices and selection are better than the fruit market located in Faneuil Hall too.

I’m surprised this place isn’t listed here. It’s been around probably longer than I have. It’s a small nook just outside the Old South Meeting House near the entrance to the State Street T. Nice place to go in the morning, on your lunch hour, on your way home, etc. Naturally they have fruits and vegetables there, often at really good prices. I was just there today and bought a bag of clementines, some red concord seedless grapes, some red bell peppers for 75 cents each. Sometimes if you’re really nice and buying lots of stuff they will cut you a deal. Don’t know what the name of it is. People just call it the fruit stand outside the Old South Meeting House. Go!
