Fit Boot

Got to say that our new trainer Tim is awesome. He is pretty hardcore but he has this knack of getting one more rep out of you or just a little more speed on the run.
It has been a couple of months now since the changeover to him and I have noticed such a difference even in this short space of time in my fitness. I trust him absolutely — he takes this very seriously and has a great attitude.
If you want to build regular exercise into your day then this is a great way to start making a difference!

retribution is a bitch. a bitch that delivers the wonderful, delightful pain of a good workout.
my best friend has been doing this class for a couple of years now and i’ve been hearing about how great it is. so, since i made her go to my 6 am spinning class when she last visited me, she made me go to her 6 am boot camp class.
it was a tough, full body workout. the day i went seemed to focus on things that i just cannot do (though everyday’s workout is different, which is great). i think we did three or four different kinds of pull ups, working the muscles all up and down my arms and back. i think i was born without arm muscles so that was extremely hard to execute these exercises but the class helped people who needed spots (yes, that would be me) and there was a lot of encouragement throughout the hour. i crawled on the ground on my belly, did crab crawls, push ups, partner-​assisted rows, and throw downs, some really hard ab exercises where someone stands behind you and pushes really hard on your legs after you raise them vertically. ouch. there were tons more exercises that i cannot begin to describe along with some calesthenics and stretches filling an hour of nonstop exercises.
this class is led by barry, a large, muscley man who means business without being too scary or intimidating. he seems pretty encouraging while firm, which i like. he was kind enough to let me join the class for a day while visiting.
i would definitely do the class if i were in boston for an extended period of time. during the summer, that is. while i like the burn of exercise, i don’t like the burn of frostbite from the frigid winter temperatures in boston. people do it year round, though. some very badass people…
overall, my heart rate was elevated and all of my muscles are sore today. especially my arms. so, i guess i *was* born with them, they just don’t come out to play that often.
***just to be clear, this is based on being a visitor in this class for one day so take my review with a grain of salt. but, i couldn’t believe no one in boston had reviewed this yet so i wanted to do my part to get the word out.***
